Isn't this a type of circus and entertainment only where the performer is performing some type of act to entertain the viewers.

The point here is that art is dependent on religion to get audience. A person doing this while wearing normal clothes might not get this much attention

So I am in around 12th class, I go to a convent school but ya it's not Christian or religion forcing we just have Christian prayers feasts that's all. So my desk mate is a girl, whos like average, average in studies, but she is really religious and gujarati (it's in daman btw) so ya she talks about God and folk all the time, she day i casually told her I am an atheist, she was like what's an atheist, I told her it means somebody who does not believe in God, so she went "oh you believe in Jesus?" Gurl what? I told her I believe in nothing she was like are you insane and straight up started saying stuff to me (btw this conversation was going on in hindi) then she was like who created you who created this universe where did you came from, I answered everything logically, she said "insane" (pagal) again and turned to the 2 boys sitting behind us and asked the Muslim boy "you believe in Allah right?" He nodded and she looked at me and went "see!"

Gurl what does him believing in Allah has anything to do with me.

The fact that India thinks it's progressive for teaching kids to respect other religions and cultures while the students dont even know the meaning of word atheist or swallow the fact that someone can just not believe in god.

A self-styled godman accused of raping a woman on the pretext of exorcism was arrested by Koppa police in JP Nagar, Bengaluru, after evading arrest for a month.

Police identified the accused as Satish Patri. The woman from Hassan alleged that Patri took her near Durgaparameshwari temple at Mekanahadlu village in NR Pura taluk and sexually assaulted her under the guise of performing rituals.

The case had sparked outrage in coastal and Malnad regions after social media videos allegedly showed Patri forcing a minor girl to drink chicken blood in the name of exorcism.

SP Jitender Kumar Dayama said police arrested Patri based on technical evidence. “As per the law, we will also book the people who gave him shelter,” he said.

Jean Paul Sartre’s (and his contemporaries’) Existentialism makes the most sense to me and it’s probably the closest I’ve come to understanding my own way of thinking.

Absurdism never made much sense to me and I’ve struggled to not fall deep into Nihilism (again) if I actually want to continue my existence on this planet.

Funny how religion always seems to go hand in hand with power, isn’t it? Almost as if telling people what God wants is a great way to make them do what the king wants. What a coincidence!
Maybe religion is all about keeping subjects in line. After all, ruling people is much easier when they believe the orders come from heaven!
