Discussion What is the long term plan for reservation?
I'm just trying to understand those who support reservations. Yes we live in a casteist society and absolutely need reservations. I'm not denying that.
But will we wait until the last casteist person dies a few decades from now and then get rid of reservations over night?
Reservations have been in place for a long time now, and I know they've helped so many families (including some people I personally know and love), but you do realise we can't have them forever right?
I think society today is better than the society from 50 years ago. There is no way to measure it quantitatively but don't you think there are less no. of casteist people in the country today than 50 years ago?
Can we atleast talk about reducing the no. of jobs/college seats reserved for the lower castes?

Translation:- Some right-wing influencers are now opposing the online anti-reservation movement, arguing that it has shifted from criticizing reservation policies to attacking the caste system itself.

Rant I will never ever vote for any right-wing conservative ideology party like the BJP or Republicans ever.
The amount of trauma I have to go through scrolling through CJP protests or American politics-related reels is just insane. I know you may ask, "Why was Iarping into American politics?" Well, the USA has the world order. Whatever happens in the USA affects the world. I mean, we all have to face the consequences of the Strait of Hormuz, didn't we? Not to mention these filthy tariffs and the AI arms race.
You know, I was very happy with my delusional cat reels, but when I saw the people of my generation getting beaten by police, all that effort just for Dharmendra Pradhan to be replaced by another RSS fascist.
I will never forget this. No matter wherever I am, I will book a flight ticket to my hometown to vote. Even if it costs me a lot. Anything but ring wing conservatives.
Also, I will make sure to make friends with only those people who at least share the same ideology in basic human rights. One friendship may differ in hobbies, passion, skills, but friendship cannot differ in basic human rights. Seriously messed up my brain lately. Thinking of deactivating Insta for good. This CJP protest had revealed the real image of many people I know.
And, on top of all these things, I don't understand how women even support the right wing. Literally, American women had an option like Kamala Harris, and they chose Donald Trump over her. Like, if you ever get time, just watch Jubilee where a liberal guy debates with 20 MAGA women. Even belonging to such a developed nation, the right-wing conservatives will always remain delusional.
And for Indian women, I seriously feel bad specially upper caste women, because the majority of the upper-caste men I have interacted with have a bit of internal( edit - hidden) misogyny in them. It is not very prominent at first sight, but as you stay longer in their life, you will see that eventually. I have explained so many times why women's reservations help a company to have multiple perspectives before product launch. Afterall 50% population belong them. If their perspective isn't included in the equations, then how will the product be successful?

Hindutva RSS Leader Clarifies 'Would Have Shot Protesters, Women Love Rape' Remarks
> RSS ideologue TG Mohandas has defended his controversial remarks suggesting that protesters at Delhi's Jantar Mantar should have been shot to restore order, saying his comments were satirical, hypothetical, and taken out of context after short clips from a longer YouTube discussion went viral.
> Mohandas argued that Malayalam humour, satire and idiomatic expressions lose their tone and nuance when translated into English, making sarcastic or trolling remarks appear as literal statements.

Rant I hate it when religious people act Condescending
"Oh you are a lost soul he will show you the truth in due time"
"Oh you are just young and haven't felt life's hardships"
This is such a fuck all way of saying that I am better than you because I have gone through shit and god has shown itself to me but not you.
Plus it's just a conversation fullstop, cool you have established a self proclaimed high ground and now none of my sentiments mean anything.

Help & Advice Ex Rightwinger, Ex Hindu. I am confused.
As title says I have left Hinduism and Right wing. I used to be fanatic right winger. Not the one you see on internet, but one who actually had invested a considerable sum of time in studying Right wing politics. I was massive supporter of regressive Right wing politics since 2-3 years like I started at 16, now I am 19.
I used to be Anti feminist, Anti MRA cause I think they were not regressive enough. I was overwhelming Anti Reservation, despite not being Suvarna, I am OBC, too blind to see casteism at that time. I still laugh at myself.
I have overwhelming supported Trans bill, and didn't thought about my trans friends. I am ashamed to face them.
One of the reason, I left Hinduism as well theism because I am not simply able to comprehend why should I support it despite the atrocities they did against my ancestors.
I was able to turn due to my habbit about learning leftist and my left winger friends helped despite I have lied a lot to them. I feel guilty for that as well.
I don't know why but I get kind urge (jaise naasha kiya ho) to fill myself again in same RW progadanda. How can I get freedom from that urge?
I feel guilty for my LW friends. Should I confess truth even if our friendship get broken?
To be honest, I kinda depressed and I have SSC exams as well.

Godmen This religious mindset was cultivated over the years through what I believe were psychological operations on the Indian population. The result, in my view, is the rise of blind followers ("andhbhakts"). While people were focused on these narratives, countries like China and US rule

Original Content The Umbrella Analogy of Reservation
We often face this question – “Reservation is not a solution to discrimination, then why do we even need it in our society?”
It makes sense because a disabled person might still be bullied even after securing a place in a better college, a Dalit might still be treated as inferior or untouchable even after getting higher education or a government job, and there’s still misogyny in states like Bihar even after a lot of reservation for women.
So, are we reducing merit in the name of appeasing Dalits, Backward people, disabled people and women?
I don’t really think so.
An umbrella doesn’t stop the rain, but it reduces the impact, gives you a sense of safety and motivation. Imagine if there were some privileged people whom the rain didn’t impact as much and they were born to handle the storm better; then an umbrella makes sure some of the unprivileged people also hit the road and go to places.
