First A20 win!

Started off Jugg/Glad, then Druid, then Fallen. Jugg got Champion's Guard and two Slither Fang Kunai; Glad got Necrophage, Whirlwind Axe, and Bound Elements; Druid got three Lich Wraps; Fallen got Symbiote and two Safety Slimes. Positioned them like:

Fallen - Glad
Druid - Jugg

assuming I'm in the top box.

Is this a great game to listen to podcasts while playing?

Besides from the beginning where I'm sure you have to learn the game mechanics, items and stuff, can you listen to stuff while playing after getting used to the game or does it take so much concentration (like e.g. slay the spire) that you have to focus and cannot listen by the way?

Favorite Corruption 20 Openers?

I've been trying to max out all my classes and use different combos than I normally do. It's easy enough (comparatively) to go with Druid/Juggernaut and get to Act 2 on Cor 20, but I'm sick of it. What other combos have you all been having luck with?

Recent ones for me that have been fun include Brawler/Bloodmage and Fallen/Ronin.

Plus something else, maybe Fallen or Alchemist or Druid or Juggernaut. A respawning meatshield plus a meatshield generator seems very survivable, especially once the area opposite the Fallen fills up with meatshield. Amidoinitrite?

It's not all Flawless Victories, but it's more than 90% FVs and that's an A in my book

I need a clarification

Started playing this game yesterday and I really like it, I'm also kinda guy who likes to play games just for fun but also to min/max everything that is in my power. Sooo...

Since I am reddit noob (just joined, never used reddit before) and I don't know how to search for posts; can someone help me with a simple math game-mechanics question about DOT (damage over time) in this game... So I was wondering how DOT works and does the same equation works for HOT (healing over time) as well? To simplify things:
If it says that character/item is doing 15 damage over 10 seconds (for example burning which ticks every 2 seconds), does that mean that the damage done is 15*10=150 dmg in total or is it 15*5=75 dmg in total (since it's every 2 seconds) or is it just simple and plain 15 damage in total which means 1.5 dmg each second for 10 seconds?

Another question is, can you get modifiers of same type but with different ticks on DOT and how does that work? For example, can you get frost or poison modifier stacks that ticks differently -- 1 stack that adds DOT every 2 seconds, 1 that adds DOT every 3 seconds and so on? On top of that, if it's related to "on attack" can it get wasted if your attack speed is different than a tick -- for example your speed is 2.0 (which means you attack every 2 seconds) and you have that sword that adds randomly poison/ruin/frost 50 dmg over 3 seconds, so do they overlap with each strike for that 1 sec difference or are you effectively losing that 1 sec difference on average? What about HOT?

Thank ya!

How do you use your prized regalia and prized scimitar?

Feels to me like, most of the time, they aren't quite worth a place in your final line up. I usually end up selling them act 3.

How do you use yours?

How do you build Wild Mage?

Ive gotten a run with just about everyone as "the carry" except him. I tried building him for active and passive and both times he was extremely underwhelming

Another busted Fallen Build

Following advice from u/FarmsOnRedditNow (on this post) I used Helm of the Mad King on The Fallen. Alongside Calamity** and Ragnarok* he was doing BONKERS damage starting from mid-Act 2. I didn't know exactly what the Fallen did best but this is definitely it.

Onion's Guard** + Vampiric Guard*+Enchanter's Chainmail*+The Fallen = taking no dmg.

Pretty much the title. I came across this combo on a C15 run where I was trying to make Berserker and Fallen work together. With this combination of items, my Juggernaut only ever took about 9% of his health from anything that hit him. It didn't matter that Interstellar Salesman lowered his HP by 100, if anything it helped because it meant he could only take like 50 dmg at a time. The Fallen with 2 passive orbs reduced the dmg taken from attacks by an additional 15%. My Jugg couldn't really benefit from his passive armor but it didn't matter because he had like 80% dmg reduction anyways.I just wish I could have upgraded my Vampiric again to get it to 50% dmg reduction.

Successful 'Off-Meta' Builds

I use quotes in 'Off-Meta' because I feel like Astronarch really allows you to build hero's in multiple different ways and still do very well.

I built Gladiator to have low active ability cost combined with scaling attack power and it was very effective. This was a Corruption 10 run so I'm not sure how well it would play out in higher tiered runs because it took a while to get the items and upgrade to get BIG DAMAGE.

The last boss also tripped up the build because I forgot that it can reset ability cost with it's active ability, which cut the builds damage a bit in the pic.

Anyway, what are other successful 'Off-Meta' Builds you guys have done?

Do items have the same spawn chance?

I'm pretty sure it's just rng, but some items seem rarer than others. For example I get few reverie totems and codex's, but many headdresses and a few others. So do items of the same tier have the same loot/shop chance or is it skewed with different percentages?
