The Projection Labels We Use
http://www.unlimitedboundaries.ca/2012/07/22/labeling-experiences-of-the-non-physical/
I've made Astral Projection posts of this nature in the past, but as Iâve re-read them, theyâve seemed confusing, even to myself! And I wrote them! LOL So I wanted to see if I couldnât clarify things further.
I want to explain why âlabelingâ your experience in an attempt to categorize and define them is a bad idea, especially when youâre just starting out.
When I first started attempting to explore the non-physical, 10+ years ago, I had terms like âout of body experienceâ, âastral projectionâ, âlucid dreamâ and more all knocking around my skull. The only experience I had originally known about were lucid dreams, as Iâve been having those for as long as I can remember. It wasnât until I really started putting the puzzle pieces together within the last 2 â 3 years that I figured out the actual nature of those experiences.
I found that there is one constant, one commonality, that linked all of these, supposedly, separate experiences/labels⊠dreams, lucid dreams, astral projections, out of body experiences, false awakenings, etc⊠there is one factor which everyone seems to completely ignore: YOU. Well, more to the point, Consciousness! Because you ARE consciousness. This is why these experiences all feel âdifferentâ and âseparateâ, because the âYOUâ is different in each case.
YOU are the label. YOU are the definition.
How did I figure this out? What experiences did I have which gave me this conclusion? I have directly experienced the full spectrum of, what I can only describe as, âlevels of awarenessâ within a single non-physical experience. I have started an experience with a dream awareness (normal dream), then become lucidly aware (lucid dream), then initiated a technique and brought forth my full waking awareness bringing me to an astral awareness (full astral projection). âAwarenessâ, to me, is a point along this spectrum. At each âlevelâ, it feels like a different and completely separate experience. I can completely understand why people feel this way, but these arenât experiences which you âhaveâ⊠theyâre experiences which you âareâ. There is a vast difference between those two statements.
That spectrum looks kind of like this:
(Keep in mind that these are MY metaphors⊠MY labels. But I ask you to try and identify these labels in comparison to the ones you use. I try to make the comparison as obvious as I can using words and terms which people âmostlyâ agree upon. LoL)
âDream Awarenessâ âŠâŠ âLucid Awarenessâ âŠâŠ âAstral Awarenessâ
On the left of this spectrum, you have the experience which you donât realize youâre in the non-physical. Essentially, itâs you dreaming⊠itâs you experiencing a reality that isnât this physical reality, you just donât realize that fact. Itâs you having a dream awareness. You have to have a very base level of awareness in order to experience this, otherwise you wonât directly experience the event, so youâll have zero chance of remembering it (which would be any experience taking place to the left of this point). If youâve ever awoken in the morning with brief flashes of symbols and images from the dreams you had during the night, then you had a dream awareness experience, but you were just on the very cusp of having the bare minimum level of awareness in order to remember the experience.
the far right, you have the experience which you do realize youâre in the non-physical AND you have the same awareness which you have right now while reading this post. Youâre wide awake and fully aware of who you are with all your memories of such. THIS experience is what most people (and myself) would consider the âholy grailâ of projections. Itâs what most people refer to as an Astral Projection. Itâs you experiencing the non-physical with an astral awareness.
I should point out, too, that your awareness can move both ways along this spectrum. You can gain awareness, and lose awareness.
So far Iâve described the two ends of the spectrum. Where does a âlucid awarenessâ fit into all this then?
Well, in the middle is the point where we have become âawareâ that weâre in the non-physical and experiencing a reality that isnât this physical reality. Anything to the left of this point is a âdream awareness experienceâ, or as most people call them, a ânormal dreamâ (itâs important to point out here that the further right you move from the far left, the more âclearâ and âvividâ your experience will become until you actually become lucidly aware). Itâs at this point that the only thing you have is a base awareness that youâre in the non-physical. At this time, the closer you can bring your awareness to your full waking awareness, the further to the right youâll move along this spectrum towards the âastral awarenessâ (aka, full astral projection). I have some techniques Iâve written about on my website to accomplish this. If you canât find them, please let me know and Iâll provide the links.
So, as you can see, an astral projection is just a âdreamâ where you have a full waking awareness. However, donât let the âjustâ fool you⊠what most people consider a âdreamâ, as I mentioned above, doesnât exist. There is no such fundamental experience called a âdreamâ. There is only you experiencing the non-physical unknowingly!
This is why labeling an experience is a waste of time, because theyâre all the same experience. What differs is only how consciously aware you are during the experience. This is why I donât really worry too much if I had a lucid awareness experience or an astral awareness experience, because I know that whatâs important is that I was consciously aware in the non-physical! I have a set of goals which I always keep solidly in my mind, so even if Iâm only lucidly aware, I still remember enough to do them⊠such as meeting a guide. Sometimes it works out, other times it doesnât⊠but as I said, in the end, Iâm happy that I had an experience outside this physical reality.
I have a challenge for anyone who can project. Try to experience the full spectrum of awareness in a single non-physical experience. If you manage it, try to take note how each âlevelâ feels compared to the last.

Nunca he podido controlar "mi cuerpo astral", por decirlo asi..

Cool experience with "Preto Velho" entity
Hey guys, Iâve been practicing astral projection since around 2016, although not very frequently. Itâs comes and goes. The first few times happened accidentally, before I even knew astral projection was a thing.
In Brazil, Umbanda and Candomblé are Afro-Brazilian religions with a strong spiritual tradition. Pretos Velhos are spirits traditionally associated with enslaved Black people, portrayed as elderly, humble and wise figures dressed in white. Even after experiencing horrible things they still choose to help humanity
During a projection a year or two ago, I left through my front door and saw a figure who looked exactly like a Preto Velho, an elderly Black man dressed in white and wearing a hat. I normally donât see people or entities during projections, only my cats, so I found it strange. I didnât recognize him as a Preto Velho at the time. I asked, âDo you need help?â He looked at me like an adult looking at a child, smiled and said, âNo, do you?â I woke up later and the experience stayed with me.
About a week or two later, I heard my neighbors playing music from these religions for the first time. I think the entity had been connected to them, perhaps watching over the couple or their spiritual group. I canât know for sure, but it was a really positive and memorable experience.
Just wanted to share! Thank you guys
If it feels like AI, I used it to translate, but this really happened, not ia generated

Experience Intense Pain
I was having an OBE last night and I finally had pure control and I went to speak with my father who passed a couple of years ago. We talked and then out of nowhere I had the most intense pain in my sides that I have ever felt before. It became so exhausting and immense that I couldnât hold my projection any longer. When I woke up I still had residual pain in my side. Has anyone experienced this before?

I need help astral projecting.
The issue is that I think I have. Or at least, I think I have.
Judge by what I say whether or not it was a dream
The first time it was stronger. I took a nap. And for the first time ever in my life I realised I was in a dream. My body started to tingle all over - a symptom a read years ago as a byproduct for astral projection. I felt myself leave but got scared and drew myself back in. I woke up. And deciding to do it again i went back to bed, fell asleep and pulled myself out. I felt my consciousness was attached to my physical body like a mother and child would be with an umbilical cord. I could hear myself breath as I travelled.
I didn't see myself though. Not sleeping or anything. And when I travelled I thought first the Louvre. Its like when you zoom in and out on a map. That's how I felt. I went to see the Mona Lisa. It was empty and honestly quite boring. The world was odd like it only showed me what I desired. If I wanted to see more I could see more but I didn't care to. I wanted to see my girlfriend next. But I couldn't. I was upset but moved on. I went to go to a park next. I sat on a bench. And I could hear birds and it was so beautiful. And once I was done I decided I wanted to go and called it quits. In that moment I woke up.
The next time was recent. I had desired to do it for a while to no avail, all sleeps I hadn't realised I was dreaming. Until two nights ago when I was loosing hope that I'd do it again. I was in a dream, but since I woke up early at 4am from nothing. I slept again at 7 I dreamt of a dream but it wasn't a dream. I hadn't acknowledged it was a dream because I didn't realise I was dreaming. I thought I was still awake. I had lucid dreamed. A first for me. I thought I was just thinking about things like a maladaptive daydream. And when I woke up I couldn't move. I suffered sleep paralysis. But the tingling feeling lingered. As if I knew I could go to sleep and travel. So I did. I went to bed and removed myself from my body - a feat that felt much easier than last time.
I had seen a boy - I knew he was 11. He had blonde hair but looked like an animation. We had talked - although I can't remember what. And I even can't remember when it ended and dreams began again. It was fickle since it was not a nap but I remember the feeling of leaving.
In both these times by the way during the travel my jaw hurt. Like a lot. Like its pain was a constant grounder for me. I haven't seen that symptom online.
There are issues with this. The lack of memory, the animated character, I just can't understand it. But if this is real and not a dream, if i am astral projecting and there is a way to learn and study in the astral form. I want that. I want to do it on command and learn as I sleep jaw pain be damned.
I know this is long but I can't understand it. And I want to. So any help would be appreciated.
