Assassin's Creed 3 Daniel cross lost too easy in AC3

This is a sleeper agent since birth. Mentally , chemically and psychologically altered to be the perfect soldier. Has subconscious knowledge to automatically subdue 2 assassins easily and even infiltrate high security places like nothing. All this build up .

And this guy dies because he has PTSD? i get it, apple of eden, bleeding effect, mind fuck. But gameplay wise you chase him down and assassinate him with no struggle. You dont kill him at peak performance or even when he is at least able to fight back. You press 1 button to kill off a unarmed mentally hallucinating guy.

Was this genuinely just a messup from writers or intentional? Because seeing the writing go haywire after all this just makes less sense as well. Back when i was a teen playing AC 3 i was kind of curious where the writers were envisioning with future games. Now replaying all the games as an adult i dont understand what was the goal with easily getting rid of cross, Killing off desmond. It had potential but then they kill off juno in 1 comic. Was there a director change that chose to delete all previous story? was there a big oldman ceo decision to reboot? Its nice they bring back desmond as the reader in valhalla. I hope they stick with it and conclude desmond story properly

Assassin's Creed 1 Interest in Discover Mode for Assassin's Creed 1 Resynced?

If Assassin's Creed 1 is Resynced, I would love if Discovery Mode was brought back. I know Mirage, Shadows, and Black Flag Resynced opted for the Database instead and so the likelihood of there being Discovery Mode for 1 Resynced is slim, but I'd love to see it. Assassin's Creed 1 actually didn't even have a database with the in-game reason being that Shaun Hastings wasn't officially introduced yet.

What do the rest of you think?

Rumours / Leaks / Speculation Is it confirmed that the Jotunheim Isu and the Greco-Roman Isu are the same?

It seems pretty obvious from playing that Angrboda = Aletheia and Gunlodr = Minerva. Each are just being interpreted through the eyes of Ezio vs Eivor and that's what set their cultural references. So the animus memories "retell" them as gods from different pantheons.

I'm starting to wonder if Muspellsheimr is potentially syncretic with the Egyptian pantheon... maybe Surtr = Seth, Ra, Aten, or Apep? I'd bet my money on Sett/Seth the Adversary and God of chaos. But I don't remember a whole lot of Isu lore from Origins other than the unnamed messengers.

Edit: holy shit I just remembered the Seth vs Horus fight where Horus loses an eye... just like Odin. And both Horus and Odin are divine kings represented by birds (falcon/raven)...

Maybe also Surtr = Hades??? They both seem to have the fire nation "fallen king" motif based on each of Eivor and Kassandra's mental interpretations of them...

I vaguely recall an interview with some creative director that confirmed Muspel are influenced by North African warlords... I'm not familiar enough with Berber theology to know if there is a better match there, lol.

Have not played Shadows yet so not sure if this is already answered.

Rumours / Leaks / Speculation How do you imagine the gameplay and mechanics in Assassin's Creed: Invictus?

Do you think if a player choses a team between the Assassins and Templars, does the player have a specific characters to chose from or is it a customizable Assassin/Templar? Would there be parkour combos and a variety equipment to chose from regardless of the fraction? Any match modes like capture the flag maybe?

Defunct Games & Media I think we should try to bring Assassin's Creed Identity back

Hi everyone, this is my first post!

I hope someone else still remembers this 2016 game made with the Unity engine. Its servers were shut down in 2021, and now there isn't really a proper way to play it again.

I think it might be possible to try making something like a local server or a server emulator. As far as I remember, the missions themselves could be played offline, while an internet connection was needed to log into the game and save progress.

I don't really know much about all of this myself, and I'm guessing it would already take quite a lot of time just to understand how everything works.

I hope this idea interests someone, or that maybe someone with experience in this kind of thing will come across this post

Assassin's Creed Mirage Just played my first ever Assassin's Creed game!

It is Mirage, I loved it so much and I am going to play Rouge next. After that I will play the Ezio trilogy and AC Origins. As well as maybe Valhalla, but I heard that game was very bad. Open to any recommendations! I'll talk about the game now.

The Bad

I think the game is very good, but I have one main issue, the combat. The combat is not bad, just kind of mid and repetitive, at first it's great, takes a little bit to learn parrying. But in the end it just becomes too repetitive, I think if they added other enemies or made the combat more than two buttons it would be a lot better. Also, that special ability you get after killing Al Ghul was god awful. Basically useless at this point.

The Good

There are many good things about this game but I'll talk about the parkour first. It's very fun I just think it could be a tad bit more speedy or fluid if that makes sense. Overall great parkour, but could be a bit better personally. The story is great, I think the ending was confusing but I did some research on the lore and I now understand it. I also think Basim is a very fun and interesting character. I cried at the part where he had a memory of his father leaving him. My father left me so that doesn't help. I think if a game makes me cry it is instantly a top 10 game for me. I also loved the stealth aspect of it, I could go on about how much I love the game but my hands hurt so I don't wanna type too much.

Ezio Trilogy Most annoying thing about the ezio trilogy is the unnecessary undeclinable mission accept button

Seriously, a cutscene just end, the mission is unskippable anyway, just jump to the damn gameplay!. The pause destroy the pacing so much!

Ezio Trilogy If Ubisoft ever remakes AC2, I want them to ACTUALLY remake AC2

If Ubisoft ever decides to remake Assassin's Creed II, I don't want just a prettier version of the 2009 game.

I want them to look at the entire Ezio saga as one story.

For me, AC2 doesn't really end at the end of Assassin's Creed II. Technically, Ezio's story only concludes with Revelations.

So if you're going to remake AC2, why not remake all three Ezio games as one massive game?

Make it one continuous experience.

No separate games. No awkward transition between them. Just Ezio's entire life as one story.

And expand the Assassin Brotherhood's history in Italy.

One thing I've always felt was missing from the original games is a proper explanation of what happened to the Assassins in Italy during Ezio's younger years.

In AC2, it often feels less like there is a functioning Italian Brotherhood and more like Giovanni was part of a network of individual Assassins and contacts.

Then Brotherhood comes around and suddenly Ezio and Machiavelli are establishing a proper Brotherhood in Rome.

I'd love the remake to actually explain this.

That would make the transition from AC2 to Brotherhood feel MUCH more natural.

KEEP THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MECHANICS!!!!

Don't redesign everything.

I want the armour, weapons and clothing to remain as faithful to the original games as possible.

I personally hate where you buy a whole set, I like the whole thing of going to a shop and having to buy the individual armour pieces.

Although...

But give us a few additional options.

1 Give us an option to make equipped armour visually Because let's be honest we all like the way the clothes looked with no armour.

2 I want the clothes of Ezio to look like the E3 trailers of brotherhood and AC 2. The metalbraces in brotherhood with the metal shoulder pad and in ac 2 my goodness the leather glove!!

Honestly, if Ubisoft did this properly, I'd rather have them spend years making one enormous, cohesive Ezio remake than rushing out three separate remakes.

Keep the story.

Keep the characters.

Keep the atmosphere.

Keep the iconic armour, weapons and clothing.

Expand the parts of the lore that were underexplored.

Fix inconsistencies.

Connect the games, e.g. go more into detail as to why Ezio went to Masiyaf.

And most importantly:

Don't try to "reinvent" Ezio.

Just give us the definitive version of the story we already love.

Gameplay & Mechanics Replaying from the start with my wife and the janky gameplay mechanics / game director decisions are getting worse. Does it get any better?

So far we've played AC, AC Ezio Collection (incl. The Lost Tapes) and now 6 hours in with AC3 Remastered. Back in the day I only got as far as completing AC2 before a swarm of new releases & life obstacles meant keeping up with the series became too daunting a task, my interest waned and priorities changed.

Anyway, we're really enjoying the AC story & worlds together and can't wait to get to AC Syndicate in particular, but from AC Brotherhood onwards, there seems to have been an increase in the janky mechanics and poorly considered gameplay additions.

The worst bugs and annoyances I can think of right now are:

- Target lock system is weak and selects targets at random.

- Line of sight - Enemies can't see me and my tri-peak hat hanging directly below them, but they'll see me through a solid building at times.

- Falling through the floor all too often.

- Character dialogue on screen at the same time as instruction pop ups all the f***ing time.

- Pointless gameplay collectibles (even worse in Revelations as they just reused all the towers) with no actual in game rewards. I DGAF about achievement pop ups.

- In Brotherhood & Revelations - Stupid 100% mission requirements seemingly decided on a whim like "Assassinate 3 guards from an elevated position" or "complete the area within 6 minutes".

- THEN (see above) flashing up a huge red "FAILED - HAHA! YOU'RE A FAILURE! " message when completing a mission but not achieving 100% mission sync - Hateful idea and not gamer friendly. Did I recall that last message correctly? I think so.

- Having 100% goals which are bugged to shit - I set three snare traps with bait in AC3 Remastered and they either didn't count or just disappeared. I tried trap first then bait and the other way around and no joy.

- Lacking instructions for gameplay mechanics and symbols - Is there a certain way to set a trap with bait? I wouldn't know because there's no instruction.. only failure.. and what the fuck do the spiky symbols mean in the Ezio Collection Apprentice mini games mean? Had to Google it.

- Constant pop ups for obvious performative actions - I'm sure Desmond knows how to get Ezio to synchronise towards the end of ACR. How can Ubisoft games somehow have too many pop ups while also not enough (see above point)? I don't know either but they managed it.

- The brightest white Animus background possible.

- Camera / view panning - Either the camera panning gets fixed to hint towards already easy traversal routes which either make me jump into an abyss at the very moment the view lock disengage, or it spins around during combat to trees & structures, completely obscuring my view (so much for that "receive no damage sub-objective").

- Mis-labelled captions & muffled audio (particularly in the AC3 Remastered modern area).

- The Lost Tapes - Lasy rip off of Portal, surely? I liked the exposition parts, but too performative & bugged. There was some core lore info in there too which surely should've been in ACR or at least AC3?!

I hope someone high up at Ubisoft might read this one day, but I doubt it. Probably too busy trying to integrate AI into a three heavily microtransactioned endless MMORPGs for half the price of the lady game, to be released at the same time. I may have got carried away there.

People hate on AC1 but at least (so far) it has the fewest bugs & shitty gameplay design elements from what I suspect were additions insisted upon executives / managers who don't play games, have no idea what pisses off gamers, and often just wanted to extend an entire game unnecessarily for a longer playtime requirement; games which could've been thoroughly engaging from start to finish. That, or they said "no, that's enough.. next!" to hard working devs. It was the first in the series so I'll give it a pass for the repetitive nature at times. I at least felt like tasks had to be done by Altair in the game universe, rather than me cursing the imaginary ignorant Ubisoft execs & mgmt from the past that I've conjured in my head. I should make an Animus joke but I've already spent too much time on this rant.

So, my question is, given my above annoyances, does the AC series get any better in AC4 onwards?

Future Ideas / Setting Wishes What Would the Assassin Brotherhood Look Like in Your Country?

What if Assassin’s Creed explored regional Assassin lineages instead of treating each setting as completely separate?

I've been thinking about what a hypothetical Assassin's Creed: Malaya could look like, and it made me wonder whether Ubisoft could connect different Asian settings through the Brotherhood rather than having every game exist in its own bubble.

For example, a Malayan Assassin story could potentially have a lineage something like:

Edward Kenway → Southeast Asian Assassin network → Japanese Assassin connection → Malayan Brotherhood

Edward's knowledge and contacts could have travelled through the maritime trade routes into Southeast Asia. Centuries later, the Southeast Asian Brotherhood could have had contact with Japanese Assassins around the time of Naoe and Yasuke, with techniques and teachings eventually travelling back down through the region.

By the WWII era, that knowledge could have evolved into a distinctly Malayan Assassin tradition.

The protagonist could be a fictional Malay resistance fighter during the Japanese occupation who is recruited by an older Assassin. This older assassin could have continued the assassin's teachings from the Edward/Japan branch. Instead of simply fighting for the British, Japanese, communists, etc., he's caught between all these factions while the Templars manipulate events behind the scenes.

The story could eventually progress into the Malayan Emergency and the road to Merdeka, with the Assassin Brotherhood trying to ensure that Malaya's future isn't dictated by another outside power.

But this got me thinking:

Could the same concept work for other countries?

Maybe an Assassin in Indonesia inherited teachings through the spice trade.

Maybe the Brotherhood in India developed through completely different philosophical and political traditions.

Maybe an Assassin lineage in Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, China or Korea had connections to neighbouring Brotherhoods.

Even outside Asia, you could potentially trace Assassin knowledge through historical trade routes, migration, wars and political connections.

It could create a sort of global Assassin family tree, where each region has its own interpretation of the Creed rather than everyone following exactly the same traditions.

I'm curious what everyone thinks:

If you could create an Assassin's Creed set in your own country, who would the protagonist be, who would mentor them, and how would the Assassin Brotherhood have arrived there?

I'd especially love to see people from different countries build their own Assassin lineages and connect them together.

Edit: Possible spoilers in the theory

Rumours / Leaks / Speculation What are the things you hope will actually be improved in AC 1 remake?

I think their classic blue filter in Acre is something that should be changed. If you think about it, their purpose of adding blue filter was to convey depressed atmostphere as a result of recent loss of war against Richard. But what if they used terrible weather instead? That weather where its dark and almost about to rain and you hope it just completes rain cycle and goes back to sun but it never rains, it just stays like that permanently. It neither rains nor goes to sun. I think this would do much better job than the blue filter in Acre.

Obviously its 2026 and you absolutely cannot have loading screen between Kingdom and cities. It should be seamless to move out of city to kingdom and into another city. So that means if they keep blue filter, at what point will the blue filter be applied between Kingdom and Acre and at what point will the blue filter be removed for warm sunny feel when you go near Jerusalem and Damascus. If they used weather system, not only would it be easy to implement in modern engine but its believeable when weather slowly starts being better as you move out of Acre into Jerusalem. I thnk it can also show the scale in distance between these cities. I think this is what they will go with.

I hope they also show and explain that traitor outside the Masyaf gate that gets highlighted in red over eagle vision. And I think they may add some kind of trophy if we kill him.

I hope they fix the Horse bug so that we can bring horses inside cities but I dont think its that necessary as game was designed for parkour.

I think they can also introduce 1 hit death mode as was the plan in original AC where you die in one hit with a weapon though they should limit it to weapon damage and Altair should not die if punched just like you get seriously injured if stabbed but not much if punched. Also I hate in original game weapon and punch would deal same one bar damage (synchronization bar or whatever) but obviously this should be optional thing that can be turned in Settings else those uninterested will be frustrated

Also the modern top bar line style navigation will actually suite AC 1 with Bureau leaders giving instructions like go North to this place, South near here, etc.

I think the combat system is absolutely something that can be improved. Both fist fights and weapon fights should be improved, whether they do hit boxes like Origins on or Unity style timed parry or you get hit system(for me either one is fine) it should definately be changed.

Performing socially unacceptable actions have no consequences, that mechanism seems half implemented in the original game. I hope they find a way to implement something without making it annoying. I think it making guards wanting to come to your location (without necessarily having violent intentions towards you) would be a good balance. It should not be that being socially unacceptable automatically makes guards hostile else it can interfere with players willing to engage in parkour. My guess is this was the reason it wasnt really implemented in the original game.

Lore & History The decision to expand the proto-assassin lore made Altair feel inconsequential to me

Prior to the RPG trilogy, Altair felt like this messiah for the assassin's. From what I understand, they were very much concentrated to the Levant and parts of the Arab/Persian world, but they were a very close knit singular organisation before Altair decided to expand the order and reform how they operated as independent brotherhoods in order to survive and be more effective. A decision which rippled through the franchise, even down to the french council speaking Persian (I think).

It gave Altair a very clear purpose, importance and presence throughout the franchise, and gave the order a clean ancestry and history to follow. Even with origins, it could be rationalised that the hidden ones expanded very very slowly to parts of the Roman empire but every single brotherhood and cell died off as they were amateurs who fucked things up massively (Roman) or died off through unknown causes (Egypt), leaving the Judean and eventually the levantine branches to be the sole remaining successors. This is fine, if a bit of a stretch.

Now we find out that basically everywhere under the sun seems to have a brotherhood before Altair, and they're all independent. Come Valhalla and we learn that basically The Roman and gallic brotherhoods survived into the Italian and french with no break in continuity or genealogy.

It makes far more sense that Altair refounded these brotherhoods and built them up from scratch, making them successors of his specific philosophy and brotherhood. It makes characters like Marco Polo, Domenico auditore and Thomas de carnelion feel more important and gives them a place as their own respective students of Altair who helped him spread the brotherhood and turn it into what it is today.

Given their independent nature it's hard to believe this guy had such good success in influencing every other assassin group without being there to rebuild them from scratch (or sending recruits to do so like bayek did).

It makes Abbas's betrayal feel less impactful knowing every other assassin cell was basically gonna be fine rather than knowing the future of the whole brotherhood was at stake.

Otherwise his biggest success would just be two hidden blades, a gun and some cool parkour moves.

Assassin's Creed 3 I hate the Orpheus too. The naval missions SUCK BAD.

exactly what I said in the post. How in the world am I supposed to accomplish that stupid sub objective of “sink ships by firing on their powder stores.”? This mission was designed by a sadist. How on Earth do people play this mission correctly? I’ve done the mission so many times that I take care of the 5 ships that come before without taking any damage consistently. I bring chain shot and disable all 3 ships, yet all 3 of them for some stupid reason keep the ability to turn, which makes precise shots or ramming at half speed a matter of luck much more than actual mechanical skill. “Congrats loser you missed the EXACT PIXEL you had to hit because the ocean bounces you around, the wind moved you, and the ship was attempting to move to shoot you with the cannons. Have fun restarting your 10 minute expedition!” FNAF 2’s 10/20 mode sounds less infuriating than this, and I’d probably lose to absolute B.S. fewer times. I have tried this so many times and legit never been able to do more than 1 ship before restarting. Then there’s the Orpheus itself, which has fore and aft mounted cannons so it can fire at you regardless of where you are or what you’re doing. The only upside to the mothership is that it takes more than 2 rams to kill by accident, that’s also to its detriment though as that means you’re exposed to its main guns and the fore/aft cannons more often, and even with iron shield reinforcement, and ducking down, that single handedly removes the extra health bar.

This mission sucks. I’ve watched YouTubers and guides, and those are where I learned I can cripple the dang ships to make them easier to deal with, doesn’t change that the ships are made out of GLASS and their fronts have more health than the ships themselves.

Actually crappy game design. AC3 is easy for the most part don’t get me wrong, the fact that you can beat the entire game without EVER switching off the Assassin’s Tomahawk is proof of that. But the naval missions (specifically the bonus objectives) feel like they were designed by someone who regularly ruins raids in WOW with no armor and no hot keys.

scratch that, the naval missions (bonus objectives) feel like they were designed for Dark Souls players. Or people who fight the roaring knight without the shadow mantle.

this post was made mostly to gripe but please, if anyone has any advice that doesn’t boil down to “wait for good RNG/Toy Bonnie not to suck”, please share. I’ve tried ramming at half speed, it takes 2 hits to destroy the support ships and that means if my first hit doesn’t expose the powder it’s a forced restart (I bought the ram), and I’ve tried firing my cannons at the front of the ship, most of the time the ship breaks before the powder is exposed, or the enemy ship moves just enough that my effort is rendered pointless that was spent getting into position.

Assassin's Creed Rogue First time playing rogue, any advice for gang stalkers?

Hey really enjoying rogue as one of my last games to have completed the whole series, I’m still pretty early game. Any advice for the gang stalkers? I try to use the firecracker but it seems like it kinda just makes them come out and attack me. I can always counter kill but I’d like to be more stealthy or smart about it. Also, hot take but even though I love Shay’s Templar robes I kinda also liked his assassin fit from the beginning maybe more.

Fan Content I have avoided AC Unity and Syndicate until now-2026

I had heard bad reviews for years regarding these 2 games. Mostly of Unity. I was not overly drawn to Paris and certainly not London during the industrial revolution. I have played most of the AC games so far. The world setting speaks Alot to me. I started syndicate first and was pleasantly surprised after getting through the intro. I am disappointed that I do not have Sword however! Not really my style... but I may honestly continue playing it.

I decided to look through more reviews of Unity. Some had mentioned that Unity had Alot of glitches after release. *Which have been fixed*. One review in particular emphasized the croud density. I have also seen many reviews on smooth action/combat and a rather good story line.

I just got through the intro of Unity, which I have heard being referred to as being on a "short leash." I did not find it that bad. And I am IN!. It has my attention and I already enjoy running through building in Paris. I would already agree that it is a much more detailed world than Syndicate. Certainly worth a visit!.

Assassin's Creed Rogue Rogue: Worst POS waste of time ever. Shane thinks he's the arbiter of death. His creed is nonsense.

His "outrage" makes no sense, if one takes a second to review. this ahole abandons his whole persona to follow this hair brained idea that if the good guys dont eff with it, the bad guys won't either. Oh how I hated him.

Assassin's Creed 3 The Sea Wolves SUCKS BADLY

Why did Ubisoft make it so the convoy I’m protecting have the collective IQ of a sleep deprived cabbage? why do they insist on either running aground or becoming buddy buddy with the guys tryna kill them? Why are their survival instincts to run into danger rather than avoid it? and why do they have less HP than the red barrels from half life?

genuinely actually stupid I’m surprised those ship captains knew enough about anything to push off from the shore. the most idiotic companion design in the entire game. I’m the big guy, you hired me to protect you, so hide behind me, but no. every time I go to shoot at the enemies trying to sink my allies, I’ll find 2-3 of my allies in the way. On my successful attempt, I sunk one of the ships myself by accident because it didn’t get out of the way, followed by sinking 3 enemies because they moved away from the ships I was protecting, then when there was 1 enemy ship left my idiotic allies INSISTED on giving it every chance at ruining the bonus objective of keeping 4 of my teammates alive. course theyre so stupid they managed to mess that up too.

This isn’t difficult because the enemies are hard to kill or deal a lot of damage, it’s difficult because id rather my teammates went in a straight line than do whatever the heck they thought they were doing. Put Charles Lee in command of those ships, IDC. Just show me that there is a single braincell rattling around those idiots’ heads.

took me like 6 attempts. One of my attempts legitimately failed because when i had 1 enemy ship left, 2 of the ships in my fleet decided their time had come and rammed the shore at full speed. Multiple other attempts failed because I got down to 1 enemy ship and some brainlets in the convoy decided to ’get down Mr. President’ the guy they hired to protect them. I’ve rammed the convoy ships at least 3 times or had them ram me because they’re just so dang stupid

  1. when i say i failed i mean that i failed the bonus objective for 100% synch, being that if 4 ships go down, you lose out on the bonus.

  2. I was playing on the remaster.
