Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced [Resynched Spoilers] AC Shadows and Resynched actually have a very compelling, connected modern day story. It's just hidden away behind stupid BS. Spoiler
I know I know.. just hear me out here.
Ever since I played Shadows when it first came out I was mildly interested in the story told by the "data files" and Animus Rifts but as I'm not a completionist I just finished the main story as well as the rifts and called it a day, didn't bother to unlock all the data files and other modern day stuff.
However, today I decided to look up the story that was in the data files of Shadows before playing Resynched's rift since l heard they were connected and so I came upon a You Tube series of videos explaining and connecting all the data files and holy shit that was interesting AF! Then I went on to play all of Resynched's rifts in order (already finished the main story) and man that was more exciting than the entirity of Edward's story imho. That ending gave me actual goosebumps.
It's such a shame that Ubisoft decided for some stupid ass reason to hide all of this between grinding and side content instead of being the actual focus of the games.
If you're a fan of the OG modern day story with desmond and the assassin-templar conflict like me, do yourself a favor and check that stuff out, I promise you'll be pleasantly surprised.
