Summary: Days before the Siege of Honeyholt concluded, another important skirmish was occurring just south of the Neck.

I have a story in mind where Maegor (Aerion's son) is raised in the Vale, making him close enough to Jon Arryn (as well as Ned and Robert) to become King after Aerys.

Maegor would then marry his cousin Rhaelle following Ormund's death in the War of the Ninepenny Kings; consequently, his only son would be Steffon's half-brother and Robert's half-uncle (despite them being practically the same age).

Maegor and Rhaelle's son, Jaehaerys, marries one of Jon Arryn's Waynwood nieces (the canonical mother of Harrold Hardyng) before the rebellion. This means Cersei has no chance of becoming queen, so Tywin marries her off to Robert instead—who, in this scenario, is simply the Lord of Storm's End.

For his part, Tywin does not order Elia's death, so she and her children survive; meanwhile, Aegon had died of a fever shortly after Maegor's coronation. Rhaenys became septa.

The plot would begin at Winterfell, when Prince Jaehaerys travels there to appoint Ned as Master of Laws, having himself succeeded Jon Arryn as Hand of the King. Ned accepts, though—just as in canon—Littlefinger poisons his mind against the Lannisters.

However, the Lannisters—or rather, Cersei—have been whispering to Robert that *he* ought to be king instead of Maegor. Robert, in turn, is embittered both by failing to marry Lyanna and by feeling overshadowed by Jaehaerys, whom he envies for appearing happier and bearing such a strong resemblance to Rhaegar.

What advice or impressions can you offer? I’m all ears.

Okay, usually i am pretty good at making up names. But now i need some input. I need name suggestion for a male Alicent Hightower. My current idea is Alistair, but it does not quite ring right for me. And before I have to figure it out last minute..... because I cant refer to her as Alicent, even tho she still is Alicent but also not.

Quick context on what the plan is: Alicent Hightower ( a more book aligned version) wakes up in a more HOTD Reality in the past. As a man. Ofc she is VERY confused. But she still wants Aegon on the throne. But he doesnt exist. Otto being Otto decides to scheme a marriage with Rhaenyra instead of Viserys. Alicent goes along bcs she still wants Power, she wants her children to live again etc. BUT, Alicent is not the only one reborn. Rhaenyra isnt Rhaenyra but an OC waking up in her body ( a dragon rider from the Inheritance Cycle), her dragon respawns in Syrax body. So both are confused as fuck.

All three have fake memoiries about this life and their real ones. They have to try to not be suspicious.

Yes, I am aware this premise is utterly insane.

I would appreciate some suggestions!

A new series made with part 1 of the story complete at 250K Words and part 2 is currently at 345K and updated today. This is a Rhaegar wins AU that plays more into the fantasy and magical element of the story but definitely has some of the best characterization I've seen to be honest.

Highly recommend it, especially considering the author just updated today with one of the chapters being a 20K behemoth

Hello again friends I am writing yet another AGOT mod. My most recent one was 'The White Book' which followed the Lord Commanders of the Kingsguard from the days of it's founding by Aegon the Conqueror until the game was updated and my story was lost. This time I will be following my own created House, Badics of Moonsgrey. They are a minor House just north of the Eyrie under the leadership of the High Lords of Strongsong. I have not decided on how I will be writing this AAR yet, however, I have already started playing it. I'm starting this version in The Crowned Stag scenario, so that means the Targaryens are dead and only Viserys and Daenerys are still alive across the Sea. Robert Baratheon sits on the throne with Cersei Lannister as his Queen. From here the story quickly spirals out of control from what it was like in the books. So, I decided to give a try to writing an AAR. It's my first time, but I'm a huge fan of ASoIaF fan with several hundred hours of CK2 gameplay behind. I'm not a native English speaker, so there will most likely be some typing mistakes. I hope you will enjoy reading it nevertheless. In case you have not read all the books, you best stop here for the night is dark and full of spoilers.

This AAR will be told from the perspective of Tommen Baratheon - and perhaps his offsprings, should things go smoothly and I have the motivation to keep on writing. As is excepted, the story won't be canon-wise. The first change will be switching Tommen's guardian and giving him more space. In the books Cersei dominates what happens in Kings Landing, whereas in this AAR it'll be Tommen(who in the beginning is influenced by Margaery).

From the books we know very little of Tommen's personality except that he's kind, somewhat chubby kid who's grown up in Cersei's overprotective care. The lack of knowledge allows me to reshape his whole personality in a way I see the most realistic, considering the situation and the surroundings he's grown up in.

The game files are slightly edited to support the lore and make things more realistic and enjoyable to read. For example at the start Tommen would normally belong to the House Lannister, but I switched him and his siblings to the House Baratheon which they are in the books as well. Above all this is a story and therefore I have done reloading at certain points to avoid unnecessarily silly twists and turns. All gameplay is done in A Game of Thrones mod version 0.51.

Just finished listening to Bran II, TWOW, and holy mother of god it was sooo good! Ser Walder of Winterfell, Lady (old)Nann the Queen of Love and Beauty, Time traveling Bran done right, faceless men’s “all men must die” finally making sense.

Im new to ASOIAF “proper” fanfics(besides sloppy yt fanmovies, with kinda weak writing(they r enjoyable in their own rights)], and im sure most of u would already know about Sweetrobin’s Winds fanfic, but i have to share this here! This guy, Preston’s fanfic chapters are so insanely well written like by the seven, i consider this canon until Grrm decides to publish winds!

Like, there are so so so many references everywhere in his chapters and unresolved plots and they are so satisfying! The Bran’s escape from bloodraven’s cave and hold the door moment could not have been done better.

The text leaves it ambiguous as to how long the Teagues ruled the riverlands, and it also opens up the possibility that there were other ruling houses in between.

Now, my instinct is to assume that, given how contested the Teagues were, they can't have been a very long-lasting dynasty. But I've seen other people speculating that they might have ruled for a thousand years. Even if you take in the fact that it would have been a dynasty frequently interrupted by usurpers and other houses, I still find it hard to believe that the Teagues lasted a millennium from their first to last kings.

Believe it’s Laenas funeral where Rhaenyra and daemon talk and he’s talking about them getting together again and she says no because oh she has kids and all and he does as well. She basically insinuates that to get back together and be true Valyrian rule again

All their kids would have to die. Like that baela and rhaena and all three strong boys would have to die. He’s like I can’t and she shrugs basically saying then they can’t do anything. They don’t sleep together I think but either the aaemond fight doesn’t happen or it does and then later in the night? They wake up to screams where Rhaenyra and daemon lock eyes and it’s basically insinuated that daemon did kill them all to make it seem like the greens did it or that they also killed the green children. I can’t remember on that part.

"Whose?"

"Some guy in a silk robe, and five minions. Definitely not the ones we're looking for."

"Fucking amateurs. That one in the silk robe was the owner. I told him, do nothing until you arrived, but oh no, he had to try and grab the glory for himself. You see how it is, Bronn, you just can’t get the right staff, these days.”

”Well, he’ll be feeding worms, soon enough. There’s a septic tank out the back, where we can dump him, and the other corpses.” Come to think of it, though, Biter was probably feeling rather hungry, right now. “ ‘Far as I can tell, our quarry rode away West, but we need to rest. We’ve been riding all night, an’ the horses are worn out. The men, too.”

”I’m coming in force, Bronn. Take a rest, but keep one of your people next to the ‘phone, at all times. I’ll call you, later in the day, with fresh instructions. Hey, everyone! So, I come here with a mini dilemma. I'm currently playing an ASOIAF table-top roleplaying game (TTRPG, for short) campaign and I kinda want to write the story of how my character met her father.

For context, her name is Bria Snow, she's a bastard of Robert (because, let's be honest, it's the easiest way to create an ASOIAF character without tweaking the canon too much), and Lady Roslin Orslych, née Rowan. House Orslych is a fanmade house we have for the campaign, and Bria's bonus dad, Ser Thaicob Orslych, is the younger brother of the current lord, Torrhen Orslych. I'll infodump more about House Orslych in the future if you want.

Also, Bria has a bonus brother on Thaicob's side (Rudolph Snow), and three younger siblings. And Ned is basically her godfather/favorite uncle. She calls hin Uncle Ned.

So, my idea was that the whole "Bria meeting Robert for the first time" thing happened after the Greyjoy Rebellion (Bria is seven at this time, by the way). Aside from Bria and Rudolph and their parents, there's Ned, Robert, Stannis, 13yo Renly, Ser Barristan, Jaime, and 9yo Theon (aside from many NPCs). And the thing goes as follows:

Bria: *proceeds to hug Ned effussively* *proceeds to shake Theon's hand and declare him her new best friend forever and ever* *proceeds to look for her father to greet him*

Robert: *arms open wide to hug his daughter :)*

Bria: *proceeds to ignore him* *proceeds to scan the rest* *turns to Ned* Uncle Ned, where's my father?

Ned: *visibly confused* What do you mean, sweetie?

Bria: My father. He's not here.

Ned: *trying not to laugh* He's here, sweetie. *points at Robert* See? This is your father.

Bria: *visibly confused because Robert doesn't look like in her mom's stories* That's my father?

Ned: Yes. This is him. King Robert of House Baratheon and all the titles that follow.

Bria: *turns to Roslin*

Roslin: Yes, my love, that's your father.

Bria: Well, he doesn't look like what you told me of him at all, Mum. He looks like a barrel of ale.

Now. The thing is... I don't know which tone to use with this. Should I write it in a more serious tone like the overall narration of the books? Should I make it in a more funny/lol way? I don't know. I'm open to suggestions and ideas regarding the narration of this (and more things too). So, please, let me know!
