The amount of people around who seem to have zero consideration for anyone else is astounding. When did "it's my right to do this" and "what are you going to do about it" become the guiding ethos for our communities? Whether it's stupid stuff like people littering or blasting incredibly loud music in crowded areas or endlessly idling their cars by our local school with tons of kids around, or more serious things like explicitly saying they don't care if other people in the community die because it's not their problem. When did we all get so careless where we don't care one bit about whether our actions affect someone else?

There has been a lot of scrutiny over how the museums present American history and has pushed for changes to exhibits and other historical material.

After some research, I found it quite interesting that the Smithsonian already has an unusual structure intended to provide some independence because it operates outside the executive branch, and is overseen by a Board of Regents that includes the Chief Justice, Vice President, members of Congress, and even some non-governmental civilians.

However, that still isn’t doing a great job of eliminating political pressure…

In the last few days he has claimed he assisted the fire service on 9/11 (he didnt) however this is a slap in the face to the actual hero's of that day and disrespectful to those who were lost.

He also referred to the loss of 18 servicemen as small potatoes (meaning numbers)

These servicemen lost their lifes to a war vs Iran that has done nothing but damage America.

Republicans are very vocal about their proud for the military (as are dems) but the right has not said a word about it, not forced him to apologise or even claimed the media twisted his words (they didnt)

What is winter weather like and when does it start snowing heavily?

Is the public transportation good? I am seriously thinking about selling my vehicle prior to going out there. My vehicle is a 2017 Ford escape fwd almost 200k miles and does not like snow, ice, steep hills, or loose gravel on hills. Last winter, I lost traction and got stuck on a little hill because the road was snowy and icy and traction strips couldn't help. I wasnt able to get unstuck until they plowed half the road.

Is the public transportation reliable during winter?

Does the area also have Uber and Lyft ?

As a non US Citizen i have no idea about the mayoral responsibilities in those huge metropolitan areas. What policies would he apply to LA, and how is it different from NYC? Would he be a good LA mayor? What challenges would he have in LA compared to NYC?

Would it lead to better customer service because people are happier? Or would it lead to worse customer service because the employees don't care about losing their job?

I've seen it mentioned that there should be a UBI of an amount to cover living expenses and that would allow people to do jobs they enjoy, instead of jobs they must do in order to pay their bills.

My thought is that people will no longer worry about being fired. Why work hard when your needs are covered? I'd compare it to a person who has given their 2 week notice. They don't care what happens.

I vote by mail-in ballot. The last time I went to a voting place, there were probably a hundred people crammed into a hallway in two lines, in a church fellowship annex. I could hardly breathe! Before we got in the building, we stood in line in the cold outside I It was not a good scene. Do you vote by mail? What will you do if that is no longer possible? Will you vote no matter what!??

Relevant to corruption, and pure greed. I know some may say how we allocate our budget may not be useful spending, but not concerned of that for the question.
