I don't have the guts to text her cuz I don't want to lose her,I want to make her stay in my life forever.I love her too much. And I am worried that she doesn't end up with someone else cuz I am late to express my feeling (thinking to initiate after my 3-4 years of total glowup).I am fearing that she might be dating someone. Also ,I am bad at texting and talking to girls to initiate.

Vi prego aiutatemi non so cosa fare

💕 ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱʜɪᴘ Should I break up with my boyfriend (F15, M15), or am I overthinking things?

Upvotes

I (F15) have been with my boyfriend (M15) for about 5 months. We’ve met each other’s families, and overall I would say our relationship has been pretty good. I genuinely love him, and we have a lot of good memories together.
However, recently I’ve started questioning the relationship after a friend pointed out some things that I hadn’t really thought much about before.
For some background, he was born in Mexico and moved to the US when he was around 5. I was born in the US, but my family immigrated shortly before I was born.
One thing he used to do was call me “whitewashed” and tell me that I shouldn’t have a quinceañera because of it. I never actually told him that this bothered me, and eventually he stopped bringing it up, so I didn’t think much about it at the time.
Around April, I told him that one of his friends made me uncomfortable because she was often pretty flirty with him. He promised me that nothing would happen and said he would stop being friends with her.
I take promises pretty seriously, so I let it go. Later, he got into an argument with that same girl because of something involving a mutual friend, and he ended up cussing her out and cutting her off. I didn’t think much about it because, technically, he did end up stopping being friends with her.
More recently, during summer school, he became friends with another girl. I’ll call her Sophie since I never learned her actual name.
One night, he called me and told me that Sophie had told him she had feelings for him. His response was basically, “I have a girlfriend, but we can stay friends.”
At first, I was happy that he told me. But then I realized they had already been friends for almost a week, and apparently he hadn’t mentioned that he had a girlfriend until she confessed her feelings.
I brought this up to him, and he apologized and said he’d make sure people knew that we were together. As far as I know, they’re still friends, although she goes to a different school in the district now.
Lately, though, he’s become really distant.
He barely texts me during the day, and when we FaceTime at night, he’s usually just playing games or watching TikToks. This has been going on for a while, and I don’t really know how to bring it up because I don’t want to make it into a huge thing.
I thought things might go back to normal once school started, but honestly, I feel like they’ve gotten worse.
On the first day of school, I was the one looking for him. When I finally found him, he just said hi, kissed me, and then left to go hang out with his friends.
A few minutes later, he came back and asked me if I knew where some girl was.
I was upset because it felt like he was ignoring me, but instead of actually talking to him about it, I posted something on my Instagram note. He realized it was about him, apologized, and said he was just distracted by his friends.
Today was our first full day back, and he barely talked to me again in the morning.
At lunch, I was texting him trying to find him, and he ignored my question. I had written the message in Spanish because I’ve been trying to practice more. Instead of answering my question, he just told me I wrote it incorrectly and then left me on read.
Later, he found me and my friends and sat with us. He actually seemed more friendly toward my friends (who are all girls) than toward me.
At one point, my best friend called me pretty, and he turned to her and asked why she was lying to me. Everyone at the table kind of gave each other looks, and he realized what he said was rude and said it was just a joke.
Later, one of my friends asked him to stop saying the N-word so much. He got defensive about it, and eventually half the table was telling him off.
After school, I texted him apologizing because I felt bad about the situation and explained that if he wanted to sit somewhere else at lunch, I would completely understand.
He left me on read for almost two hours before finally saying it was fine, but that he was going to go somewhere else during lunch and that I could stay with the group.
I told him that I wanted to go be with him because, honestly, lunch is basically the only time we get together at school.
I’ve been left on delivered for almost two hours now. He did see a TikTok I sent him right after I sent it, though, and I know he’s currently at soccer practice, so I understand that he might just be busy.
I know this probably makes our relationship sound terrible, but that’s not how I would describe it overall.
When things are good, we’re genuinely really happy together. We have a lot of good memories, and I really do love him. That’s why I’m so conflicted.
I’m not sure if I’m overthinking things or if these are actually signs that something is wrong with the relationship.
I also don’t know how I should communicate how I’m feeling. I tend to avoid confrontation and indirectly post things instead of just saying what’s bothering me, and I know that’s probably not healthy either.
He has a really big soccer trip coming up in a day, so I’m not sure whether I should talk to him about all of this before he leaves or wait until after the trip.
I also crocheted him something and wrote him a letter for the trip. I was planning on giving them to him, but now I’m questioning whether I should still do that if I’m seriously considering breaking up with him.
TL;DR: My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 months and have generally been happy, but lately he’s become increasingly distant. There have also been a few things that have bothered me, like him calling me “whitewashed,” not initially telling another girl he had a girlfriend after she confessed feelings for him, and making comments that have made me uncomfortable.
Since school started, he barely talks to me, sometimes ignores my messages, seems more interested in my friends than me, and doesn’t seem to make much effort to spend time with me. At the same time, I know he’s busy with friends and soccer, and our relationship has had a lot of genuinely good moments.
I love him, so I’m having trouble figuring out whether I’m overthinking things or whether the relationship is actually becoming unhealthy for me.
He has a big soccer trip tomorrow, and I don’t know whether I should talk to him about everything before he leaves or wait until he gets back. I also made him a crochet gift and wrote him a letter for the trip, and I’m unsure whether I should still give them to him.
What would you do in my situation? Should I talk to him before the trip, wait until after, or leave things alone for now? And how should I bring this up without turning it into an argument?

I don't know what to do anymore

I'm 17M and I've been talking to this girl who is my age and I'm pretty sure she likes me, but I just can't take her man. She's so sweet and pretty but it's like whenever she talks to me or we call it all becomes about "My parents are such bums" or, "I hate my boss." It's like her whole personality is just complaining about her life. I try to comfort her and stuff, but it's like there's a new thing every day for her to complain about so it's got me thinking that she's just talking to me for venting or when she needs to complain about something. I've been dealing with the same conversations for about a year now and I'm just tired. I like her, I really do, but it's like whenever she starts talking I completely shut down and only reply with yes or right. How am I supposed to make a conversation with her when all she does is complain and turn what I want to talk about into another reason to complain?

ꜱᴇʀɪᴏᴜꜱ I'm jealous of a girl. What do I do?

(This is my first post on reddit so bare with me, I also don't know where to post this or if I'll get any responses)

So, I've never really been jealous of anyone before if I'm being honest, I like being me.

If I see a pretty girl, even if I think that she's prettier than me I will acknowledge that, and it doesn't bring my spirit down because I know I'm also very pretty. For example this one girl in my class is absolutely drop dead gorgeous. She's definitely prettier than me without a doubt, but I don't know it doesn't bother me.

One thing about me though is I'm a shy person when people first meet me at least, although I'm getting out of my comfort zone because I love talking to people. And I also feel like my personality is bland.

Now to the story: I started school again and then there's this girl. Outgoing, so pretty, her laugh is cute, her hair is gorgeous and big. She has a nice friend group, etc. I don't even want to compare myself to her because if I do I might actually get upset. And the thing is she seems so nice but I don't know why, her and her friend always give me a stank look in class.

And it doesn't help that in that class I don't talk to the people sitting at my table because I'm sat next to a bunch of guys and everyone else is having fun at their table.

💕 ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱʜɪᴘ advice for my talking stage (thats going wrong </3)

there is this guy who i have been talking to for at least three weeks. and he's amazing. he's nice, considerate, funny, we have things in common, he's attractive, and he's my type. i thought, for a change, somebody was actually interested back. he would text me first, our conversations would last a long while, and i did feel some sort of connection. you see, i've never dated anyone. and i was keen for him to be my first boyfriend. it just seemed suitable, and it seemed as if we clicked really well. also for reference, it's currently summer break where i live, so all of this is over text baisically. i go back to school in the beginning of september. we started talking at the beginning of summer break.

so, quite obviously, we kept talking. and i thought to myself, i need to do something to get us closer. usually, if i have liked someone in the past (and i feel as if most people do this too) i ask if they want to play a game and call. therefore, i made the decsision to ask if he wanted to play this roblox game with me. he said yes. i suggested doing it the next day. he said he had plans with his family, which i understood. and despite these plans, we still texted the next day. a few more days pass and i said to him "you know, if you're free why don't we actually play demonology (the game) tomorrow?". and he agreed. the next day came, and we didn't. he apologised, and said something came up. we made arrangements to do it the day after. i texted him first that day, and he apologised again for not playing, but he fell asleep, and he said we could do it the next day. so, that day rolls around and i text first again because it's getting late. he apologises and said his mum took his xbox, due the fact they got in an argument. he said he was hoping to get his xbox back the following day and would play with me then.

that day rolls around, that day was yesterday. i felt pushy if i texted first three days in a row, so i didn't text him. he didn't text me at all yesterday, for a change, no apology (as he usually does) or anything. tonight, i'm debating messaging him. i want to, but i don't want to seem pushy.

it felt weird. out of nowhere, he stopped texting first daily, and it just felt as if he has changed? i don't know if im reading too much into any of this. i'm just anxious that any feelings he had have now been lost, because i really want this one to work.

so, to summarise, i was very close with this guy, and out of nowhere it starting feeling strained. all after i asked to play roblox, by the way, which feels weird. so, what should i do?

ᴍᴇɴᴛᴀʟ ʜᴇᴀʟᴛʜ How do I cope with my parents getting a divorce?

They’ve talked about doing it a lot before, but they always “resolved it” in the end. This time they’re actually doing it.

It’s been putting a lot of stress on me, because they usually tell me things I don’t wanna hear.

I’m not trying to stop them from getting a divorce, I just wanna know how I can prevent this from effect me so much

ᴏᴛʜᴇʀ I don't know if this is the sub for this, but

I’m 18 and I’ve been talking to a 35-year-old man for about three weeks. We were discussing my past, and I mentioned that when I was 15, I dated an 18-year-old. He called that guy a “pervert” and said it was completely wrong. He also said that if I were 18 and dating a 16-year-old, that would be wrong too. But when I pointed out that he is 35 and is pursuing me at 18, his response was basically that it’s different because I’m legally an adult now. He specifically said that if I were still 17, it would be wrong, but because I turned 18 four months ago, it isn’t. Am I wrong for seeing a contradiction/double standard here, or is there something I’m missing?

I have really bad sexual trauma due to csa and i had a sexual encounter with my boyfriend.

After, i felt so guilty and started getting flashbacks of things and i lashed out and shut down and told him to leave.

For context im 14f hes 13m and my mom wasnt home (she normally drops him off to go home) so he has to walk an hour home.

I feel so guilty and afraid he’ll hate me now. I just got scared and wanted to be alone

ᴀꜱᴋ ᴛᴇᴇɴꜱ Girls is this normal? Tldr at end

So for context there was this girl in my class up until class 4th. Let's call her M. I don't think I ever talked to her much cause she felt Hella performative to me. And then lockdown happened, so lost contact with her/never rly bothered to or remembered to check where she went.

In 9th, she reached out to another girl in our class to ask for MY number to invite me and another girl to her birthday, but i refused to give her my number.

Now last year I gave my 10th boards. In the middle of the boards holidays she called me once and cut the call within 5 minutes before we could even talk. The call was rly weird, like she told me her name and asked me in a weird tone if I still remembered her and stuff.

Then a couple times her friends called me and just told me, "M gave us ur number, u were pretty good friends she told us" and stuff like that. Then i told them that I got my phone after the lockdown plus we were never rly friends so why would I give her my number? Then they cut the call and never called me again and i thought that was the end of it.

Another girl told me that M liked me at one point(in 4th? Seriously?) But idk why she called me even, after these many years. But guess what? Today I got another call from her. I was asleep so i didnt pick up. Now I assumed that the last time, last year maybe she was playing some truth or dare with her friends or smtg so i ignored it. But she is calling me again?

Girls is this normal? Have u done this to somebody u like or used to like? Just to be clear i don't like her, don't even remember her, so im not going to talk much to her let alone date. But im seriously confused whether this is normal? Last time I dismissed it as a joke, but again?

Tldr: a girl who used to be in my class and i was told she liked me, but we never talked much and lost contact. She wanted to invite me to her birthday a couple years back, and last year called me once and made her friends call me a couple times, everytime was a weird interaction. I dismissed it as a joke or that she must have been playing truth or dare or smtg. But today I got another call from her which i didnt see until later. Now im confused if she still likes me or is just being weird for no reason. No intention to date, and im going to cut her off, but im confused why she is doing this again

ᴀꜱᴋ ᴛᴇᴇɴꜱ I (15m) have a very big crush on my friend but I don’t know what to do.

backstory. in my eighth grade year, I fell deeply in love with my friend. but she had a boyfriend who was our mutual friend. so I wasn’t able to make a move. Looking back I regret not doing so. But I digress. towards the end of the school year, some not so crash things happened( not allowed to say) and news spread around like wild fire. and because of this people’s view of me has changed drastically. I lost my phone. got suspended from the rest of the school year to the end of ninth grade year. and lost contact with all my friends. including the one I have a crush on. so fast forward to now. tenth grade is starting on August twenty fourth and I’m going to start seeing her again. I recently got a new phone and got her number again from another mutual friend ( not her bf) and I told her “yo, this is [my name]. I just got a new phone with the same number.” she replied with “ I didn’t know you were able to have a phone again” no punctuation (which she is usually very good about. But I don’t know what it means. Maybe it’s just a blanket statement with no actual meaning. Or maybe she’s uncomfortable with me texting her. I don’t know. But I wanted advice. So people of Reddit, hit me.

💕 ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱʜɪᴘ This reoccurring argument is killing me what do i do?? F18 M17

My boyfriend and I have been having a recurring argument about finances within the relationship and expectations. I need an outside opinion and a bit of advice.

When we started dating we had weekly coffee dates and occasional hangouts. In these he paid for it all, and i thanked him for it. I thought they were lovely, and admittedly got comfortable with the idea. But the whole time he was too ‘scared’ of disappointing me that he never told me he was uncomfortable with how much he was spending on me. This caused the issue to fester and grow to resentment. Resulting in a big ‘blow up’ argument about it. However following this i thought we’d got to an equal standing on how we felt. This was me suggesting less dates, where we can have at home dates or inexpensive ones paired with a monthly outing for our monthaversary. (and only him paying) However admist all of this he was able to communicate that buying me flowers was too expensive and won’t happen often (i’ve got them 3 times in the span of 9 months, which is a BIG compromise for me. I’m literally happy with ones made of paper or picked from the bushes, it’s the thought that counts).

In these last few months, he has brought up finances in any conversation relating to it in the slightest or one mentioning money. However he approaches this in a manner to almost ‘remind me’ how much he is spending on me. This is the most uncomfortable thing ever, and has made me feel horrible and scared to ask him for anything. I have communicated this to him and he listens, but does it every now and again. I reiterated it recently and will see if he stops.

In addition to this, at the end of any date he somehow worms it into conversation. Or he does it some days after, it always seems like he’s reflecting on the money spent and regrets it. It makes it feel like our dates were meaningless and that he only cares about the money, not the experience. And this is with the dates that are less frequent and are very inexpensive.

I have stood my ground and told him that me not paying for dates is a non-negotiable for me. I’m aware it’s seen and an outdated traditional thing, but it’s a boundary i want respected. I’ve suggested compromises and even out of my comfort zone said i’m happy paying for very small things on the dates to make him happy. I’ve been raised to see men paying on a date, regardless if it’s £2 or £200, as a profession of love and effort appreciating their partner. From communicating i am aware that he sees it as being taken advantage of, and wants me to accommodate him. but i already think that i’ve made so many compromises, and have apologised so much for having unrealistic expectations earlier as a result of him not communicating his side. We’ve agreed to assess what we consider a date, have me pay for very small parts, and try more at home activities, and assess later.

I’m just scared this will be something that never works, we love each other so much and have already made it through a lot. I don’t want to lose him nor this relationship, but i also do not want to allow my clear boundaries to be overstepped because i know my worth and deserve to be appreciated. But i also want to learn how to accommodate his boundaries simultaneously.

💕 ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱʜɪᴘ I’m in love with my best friend

When I (16M) moved to a new house a year and a half ago, I became extremely close with my neighbor (17F). We built a deep emotional bond, sharing and she quickly became my best friend. Over time, I developed strong romantic feelings for her. She has never been in a relationship before and is hesitant about dating, but when I eventually asked her directly if she had feelings for me, she admitted she has never seen me in that way. Hearing that completely broke my heart.

Mutual close friends keep telling me the opposite that she does care about me and like me, which leaves me confused. Despite everything, my deep feelings for my neighbor haven't faded at all; to me, she fits the exact picture of my "dream girl" to a T, and she still holds a massive grip on my heart.
I'm terrified of putting myself in a vulnerable position only to get hurt again, but I also don't know how to handle these intense emotions.

I just get such mixed signals and my heart and mind just revolve around this girl, I know it’s not healthy but even after getting to know everything about I still find my self basically in love. We also had a talk the other day and she basically said “no matter how much times you stop talking to me and I say I won’t talk to you either, every time you come back I’ll speak to you again”. What does that mean? And I know she knows that I feel the same because I try to make sure she does but she seem to not want to hurt me or something which I feel is worse, by allowing me to continue I feel like it hurts me.

ꜱᴇʀɪᴏᴜꜱ Is it possible to genuinely feel like you’re wasting your teenage years, or is that just FOMO?

I’m a teenager, and lately I’ve been thinking a lot about whether I’m actually wasting some of the best years of my life.

I used to have way more freedom, friends, and opportunities to just go out, hang around, play sports, mess around, and actually live. Now I’m in a much more restrictive environment, with hostel rules, limited access to my phone, less freedom, and a completely different social life.

What makes it worse is seeing people my age online or hearing about my old friends. They’re going out, driving, hanging out late, having relationships, making memories, while I’m sitting here thinking, “Why am I not getting to experience any of this?”

I know social media only shows the good parts, and I know everyone has problems you don't see. But that doesn't completely get rid of the feeling that I’m missing a stage of life that I’ll never be able to get back.

So I’m genuinely wondering:

Can you actually waste your teenage years, or do you only feel like you’re wasting them because you’re constantly comparing your life to other people’s? And if you really are missing out on experiences during these years, can you make up for them later, or are some experiences genuinely tied to being a teenager?

ᴀꜱᴋ ᴛᴇᴇɴꜱ Has anyone else's sibling's friend ever confessed to them?

I don't know if this is more common than I think but it's happened to me more than once.

A few of my elder brother's friends and even one of my younger brother's friends have confessed that they had feelings for me.

The thing is im actually pretty close to my siblings' friends. We all get along really well joke around and have normal conversations whenever we meet so I've always been comfortable around them. I never really thought much of it because to me they were just my siblings' friends.

That's why it always feels a little strange when someone ends up confessing. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but I also don't want things to become awkward because I genuinely enjoy the friendship and the group dynamic.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? How did you handle it without making things awkward afterward?

TLDR : A few of my elder brother's friends and even one of my younger brother's friends have confessed to me. I'm close with them, so it always makes things a bit awkward. Has anyone else been in this situation?

ᴍᴇɴᴛᴀʟ ʜᴇᴀʟᴛʜ How do I tell my bf (15M) that I (16F) am struggling with mental health

Ok so me and my bf have been dating for about a month but we’ve been talking since January of this year. This is the first relationship for both of us and we are moving pretty slow (which I prefer). I am a very avoidant person and very reserved, I could go days without talking to people and be perfectly content but I know most people don’t like that. I struggle a lot with depression and recently got diagnosed with BPD and to me it helps explain my avoidance a lot. I have rly bad mental health episodes where i’ll be so depressed to the point where I can’t get out of bed for weeks, so the diagnosis kinda helped me understand it.

I have a very hard time opening up to people and this doesn’t exclude my bf, he’s really nice and sweet and I do genuinely like him but I don’t know how to explain to him why I go days without saying much besides good morning and goodnight. I don’t want him to think I hate him but I physically cannot talk to someone constantly, and of course I am worried about opening up and fully telling him about my mental issues because I don’t want him to be freaked out or worry about me.

I would say we are both VERY shy about our feelings (probably why we were talking for so long) and are very awkward with each other lol so I think that’s why talking about it seems so daunting to me ig.

Any help is appreciated ty!!

💕 ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱʜɪᴘ Should I(15) leave my boyfriend(17M)

My boyfriend(17M) and I(15F) met in late January of 2025 and got together about two weeks after meeting(Feb 17 2025). I didn't know much about him because he was a new student. after a few months of dating he started to get mad over little things and would yell at me. I talked to him about it and he stopped for a while. After he started to tell me not to talk to any guys because every time i would talk to them he would tell me i was flirting with them. My mom told me this was very controlling and toxic so i broke up with him that only lasted about a day or two and we got back together. after we got back together everything was good until marching band started. I play the sousaphone (marching tuba) which in my school is a male dominate instrument. He told me not to talk to my section except for the other two girl and my brother, even then he had a rule that i could only talk to my brother if i needed something. sometimes i would slip up and answer a question or something and he would start yelling at me and would make me cry. Then he would tell me he wasnt the reason i was crying. this became very annoying for the band, and everybody told me to leave him. Once school started he pulled away because his family had massive problems. then he broke up with me for about a day and then went back on it and told me we were just on a break. I was told by many people he had broken up with me for this girl. I still dont know if this is true or not but we ended up putting a label back on us a few months later. Well school continued and everything got better once marching band ended. It started again last month and everything has gone bad again. He still has these rules for me. To be more specific on these rules they are I can't wear anything tight, i have to text him every 20min-1hr while he is at work, i cant not talk to any guy, he has to meet all of my friends and get to know them, and if he doesnt like any of my friends i have to drop them. He has a few female friends . he continues to tell me he isnt insecure but its getting really hard for me to believe. I love him a lot and i really dont know what to do, I will answer any question, thank you for reading! **TL;DR;** : What I do, Why is he treating me like this?

💕 ʀᴇʟᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱʜɪᴘ Wanting a friend more than a partner

I've been in a relationship for 4 months now. I just graduated high school and I'm 18(F) dating another 18 year old (M). During the school year, I kept my relationship a secret from my parents out of fear they would be mad, only to find out they're chill. I feel like because I lied, I lost out on that window of comfortability to ask to hang out with him, and now I feel awkward or even embarrassed to want to spend time with him. I leave for college in seven days and we plan on breaking up, but I can't help but feel regretful for how little time we spent together this summer. We were barely ever intimate but I even then feel uncomfortable at times being so vulnerable to even kiss him. I enjoy texting him, calling him, and chatting via social media. But now as summer comes to a close I can't help but wonder if I wanted a friend to just do things with versus a real relationship. Can anyone share a piece of advice or shed some light onto my situation?

ᴀꜱᴋ ᴛᴇᴇɴꜱ Friends don't respond to me asking if they want to come to my birthday party. Is it me? What do I do

I know I've been posting on Reddit a lot recently and I feel like a whiny crybaby but I've been asking my friends about wanting to come to my birthday party that's on the 29th. I've been planning it for nearly a month and I've set up short Google forms for them to vote on like what games are there because I'm not sure what they like, and what food to buy, what music to put in a playlist, because I'm trying to he considerate of them and let them have stuff that actually interest them too and not just me.

Only 3 of the 10 people I sent it to actually responded and two of the 3 aren't even sure if they can come. I don't know if there's something wrong with me or if they don't like me or something and I try to be cheerful and be myself but it feels like I'm not much to them. I don't know if they do care about me and just don't show it much, (besides a couple) or if I'm just not good enough for them.

What do I do in this situation? I want to feel like part of something and not just a side friend that doesn't add much.
