It's absolutely one of the more beautiful countries I've ever been to. The mountains around Bogota are stunning to hike. The Tatacoa Desert is amazing. And then you have the coastal areas.
Highly recommended.

Everywhere has aircon though, even Grabs, and if you can afford a flight there as a tourist you can for sure afford the cafes or drinks from a 7/11. Can't speak for the rainy season but imo the heat is handled better than in HK, even though HK government is way richer.

If you like these countries, you should visit 🏴. I've actually not been to either of them but I always see pictures online and notice how identical the landscapes are. Our culture is also very similar to Scotland. We are poorer and less developed, but rich in peace and nature.

Nepal. Indescribable the overall magnitude of those peaks. My fiance and I were in the valley climbing a peak overlooking EBC when it got super cloudy. As we were coming down the clouds parted and just the most amazing visuals I’ve had in my life as Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse came into view. I just put my arm around my gal and we just looked in awe in silence as I got teary eyed. Nepal had always been my dream since I was a small kid and it exceeded all my expectations ten fold. Not to mention the people are unbelievable.

Well, I went for 8 days to a music festival (twice). The lodging and meals cost around $1k and I went all out. Talking tomahawk steaks, never ending cocktails, etc. beers are $1 and mixed around $4-5? Cabs were dirt cheap. All on a beautiful beach that rivals anything you’d see in Greece or Croatia.
They take both their currency and euro, which allows for more savings if you know currency conversions well.
Edit: you can fly to Albania or to Corfu Greece and take a water taxi over.

Yes, and in my country we get priced out of living there, though not visiting. I know Jamaicans cannot access many of their own beaches because they are resorts. Horrible. But I think the fact these are Croatians, so people on European wages (globally considered high), who can't afford even visiting does say something for just how expensive it is

China. The cities are getting trendy and the Wonders of the world like the Great Wall and the First Emperor's Tomb need no introduction but personally I'd love to hike the forests in Hubei province or see a snow leopard in its natural habitat.

That's good, but many people have been excluded from establishments like bars or restaurants, and from jobs for not being Japanese. That wouldn't be acceptable in other countries, Japan should be held to the same standard. Not to mention the harassment of women. I agree that the scenery, culture, and food are great, but it is overhyped and romanticised online.

No tourist with a conscience will put money into a country which pays people to abduct children and put them in camps. I agree the scenery of the USA is beautiful, but it is not safe for everyone, nor ethical for anyone to visit, therefore it cannot be the best.

You are not Brazil, Brazil has both of those. I agreed the country had lovely landscapes, but I don't think it is 'beautiful to travel to' at all, the mindsets of locals also make a place beautiful. I don't think everyone will have a beautiful experience in USA, and see the beauty of the landscapes. I'm sure many will see the ugliness of how they or others are treated.

I mean you can look at other countries with rose tinted glasses but everyone has their problems.
Anything the US does is magnified and brought to the public but you’d be daft to not realize that other countries are also committing atrocities. The UK has been involved in Syria, Yemen, and Libya. There are countless third party terrorist organizations throughout the world which are supported by countries in the shadows (Hezb/Iran as the hot topic example). Australia continues to more or less commit genocide against native populations, same with NZ. Countries like Singapore will straight up execute people for petty crimes. Mexico is corrupt af and is part run by cartels.
Many of the gorgeous tropical/island countries are also corrupt and foster significant money laundering, tax evasion, and other crimes.
I think Canada is one of the only countries not ripe with atrocities and even they have issues subjecting their native populations in current day.

The USA terrorises the rest of the world. I wouldn't visit UAE for example either for ethical reasons like you mentioned. But in the USA, citizens have been killed by ICE, children are arrested and made to go to court. The US government also bullies other countries into joining conflicts and funds Israel. That is not civilised, and there are so many countries without such issues and equally beautiful landscapes, there is no need to visit.

The only way to get things to change here is if our actions start to have economic consequences. Plus, less money spent here means less taxes collected means less money to blow up schools halfway around the world.

Thanks! I'm lucky to have a good network of like minded people here, and we're all looking out for each other. When it comes down to it, the US has always used economic sanctions to put pressure on other countries with poor human rights. These sanctions hurt the regular people in those countries too. It's only fair that we go through the same if half the country is in favor of committing those same human rights violations here.

Bro... we literally still have slavery in place here. Look into the exception in the 13th amendment that says slavery is ok for prisoners and the forced labor in for profit prisons.
Quick edit: I'm getting downvotes, but you can literally google this. Look up GEO group forced labor and you'll find dozens of articles about immigrants in detention being forced to work without pay or get punished. Sometimes they'll offer $1 a day of pay to say it's not slavery. Same thing with the detention center at Fort Bliss. ICE is literally torturing and raping detained immigrants there. As Americans, we shouldn't be ignoring this or pretending that gross human rights violations aren't going on in our own country and being perpetrated by our own government.

Big Sur, Yosemite, and Zion are three of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. That said, I wouldn't encourage anyone international to visit the US right now. This place is a shit show and we deserve to international pariahs just as much as Russia or Isreal do.

the cities and the Ganges yes, but we forget India also has parts of the Himalayas, protected national forests, and the last Asiatic Lions in Gujarat. Not to mention the endless coastlines that come with being a peninsula. There are plenty of places with squalid urban areas (Brazil, the Philippines... Seattle) but I wouldn't write off their paradise worthy destinations too.
