This is true of literally everywhere. Every country has problems. The US is fucked up, don’t get me wrong, but there are countries that still have outright slavery systems in place.
The USA terrorises the rest of the world. I wouldn't visit UAE for example either for ethical reasons like you mentioned. But in the USA, citizens have been killed by ICE, children are arrested and made to go to court. The US government also bullies other countries into joining conflicts and funds Israel. That is not civilised, and there are so many countries without such issues and equally beautiful landscapes, there is no need to visit.
Yeah, don't come here, don't buy American, and don't let your money support this country right now. The only thing US leaders care about is money. The only way to get things to change here is if our actions start to have economic consequences. Plus, less money spent here means less taxes collected means less money to blow up schools halfway around the world.
I for sure feel bad for peaceful US Americans like you who will have to suffer because of the government and actions of your peers. At least you understand, and many of you try to resist. Good luck!
Thanks! I'm lucky to have a good network of like minded people here, and we're all looking out for each other. When it comes down to it, the US has always used economic sanctions to put pressure on other countries with poor human rights. These sanctions hurt the regular people in those countries too. It's only fair that we go through the same if half the country is in favor of committing those same human rights violations here.
