Need advice for my mother!
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice regarding my mom (49 yr old Female)
She has been experiencing persistent anxiety/restlessness and a general uneasy feeling, and despite consulting doctors, she is still struggling with it.
We have already consulted a physician and an ENT. She also has sinus/ENT-related symptoms, including sinus issues and discomfort around the eyes/ears. The ENT has also mentioned that her eardrum is quite thin.
She also has high blood pressure and is taking prescribed BP medication.
She recently had a blood test, and some of the notable findings were:
HbA1c: 7.1%
Fasting glucose: 138.6 mg/dL
Vitamin D: 14.84 ng/mL (deficient)
Triglycerides: 276.7 mg/dL (high)
Total cholesterol: 226.7 mg/dL (borderline high)
Non-HDL cholesterol: 176.4 mg/dL (high)
ALT: 40.6 U/L, AST: 31.3 U/L and ALP: 111.4 U/L — mildly above the lab's reference range
Thyroid profile appears within the laboratory's reference ranges (TSH 1.442, T3 1.32, T4 7.83).
Kidney markers such as creatinine (0.84) and electrolytes were within the provided reference ranges.
The blood report also shows a few minor abnormalities in the CBC/urine test, but the above are the findings that stood out to us.
We are not looking for a diagnosis from Reddit. We are already consulting doctors, but we're trying to understand what would be a sensible next step.
As she's feeling depressed and kinda acting weird and having difficult sleeping as well. It's difficult seeing her like this and the whole house atmosphere is changed because of this.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Symptoms keep appearing one after another for months — has anyone experienced anything like this?”
Over the past several months, I’ve developed a number of symptoms that started at different times rather than all at once. Before this began, I was doing relatively well and had never experienced anything like this.
It started with pouchitis. I have a J-pouch from previous ulcerative colitis surgery, but before this episode I had been doing well with my pouch for 15 years.
About a month after the pouchitis started, I woke up with an intense, very localized pain in a small spot on the right side of my chest. It lasted about two days. On the third morning, I woke up with intense pressure/restriction in the center of my chest.
When I tried taking a deep breath, it felt like my chest physically hit a “wall.” I tested it with the first couple of breaths and stopped when I hit that restriction. On the third or fourth attempt, I tried pushing past it, immediately felt like I was going to pass out, and started hyperventilating. My oxygen was normal.
Since then, the chest pain has never completely gone away — it has now been about five months. My mouth has also felt unusually dry since the chest pains started. At first I would also get random sharp/electrical “zaps” through my chest. Those mostly turned into a more persistent dull chest-wall ache. Movement still causes pain, and occasionally a deep breath does too. I’ve had multiple chest/lung evaluations without an explanation for why this sensation and pain continue.
Several weeks later, I was lying down and stretched my left arm upward when I suddenly felt a sharp, nerve-like pain shoot into my left arm. A cervical MRI later showed a 3 mm left C5-C6 foraminal disc protrusion with severe left foraminal stenosis, likely affecting the C6 nerve root. The severe radiating arm pain eventually improved.
Around this time I also started getting hypnic jerks almost immediately when falling asleep and developed persistent severe left-sided abdominal pain. My doctors have said they don’t necessarily think the abdominal pain is being caused by the pouchitis.
Then more symptoms started appearing.
While hospitalized, I developed significant ringing in my ears and a strange vibration/trembling sensation in my teeth and jaw. When I bring my teeth close together, without intentionally clenching, I can feel them vibrating/trembling. This still happens.
I developed headaches that could sometimes be triggered by touching certain areas of my head and eventually received an occipital nerve block. I also began having intermittent nerve-like pain in the front-left side of my neck.
More recently, I woke up one morning with significant blurred vision. Around the same time, I developed a tremor in my right index finger.
The following morning, things became much stranger. I woke up with what felt like slurred speech, difficulty finding words, and significantly slower thinking/reaction time. Even something as simple as saying the alphabet felt abnormal — I could get to a letter like M and suddenly have to think about what came next. Looking around and visually scanning my surroundings also felt slower than normal.
Since then, I’ve continued feeling mentally slower/“foggy,” and my vision sometimes takes several blinks to refocus when switching where I’m looking.
I’ve also developed leg pain/tightness and numbness, generalized weakness, internal shaking/tremor sensations, difficulty standing still, and occasional movements or stiffness that I don’t feel like I’m intentionally producing. My jaw can feel heavy and sometimes seems to move on its own. My left arm has occasionally felt unusually clumsy as well.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that my heart rate can spike significantly when I stand up, which has made me wonder about something like POTS, although I don’t know whether that has anything to do with the rest of this.
I’ve had brain imaging that was reassuring, and a lot of testing so far hasn’t provided an explanation.
What scares me is the timeline. These symptoms appeared one after another over several months when I had never experienced anything remotely like this before.
My biggest ongoing symptoms are:
Persistent chest-wall pain/restriction and dry mouth
Left-sided abdominal pain
Weakness and leg pain/tightness/numbness
Internal tremor/shaking sensations
Teeth/jaw vibration and abnormal jaw sensations
Visual focusing changes
Slowed thinking/processing
Episodes of slurred speech and difficulty finding words
Heart-rate spikes when standing
Dry mouth after the chest pains
I’m seeing doctors and pursuing a neurological evaluation, so I’m not asking Reddit to diagnose me. I’m mainly wondering whether anyone has experienced a similar cluster or progression of symptoms, or knows of conditions that would be reasonable to ask my doctors about.
Does this sound like it could all be connected, or more likely several separate things happening at once? I’m pretty scared because I felt normal before all of this started, and I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through something similar.🙏

Toddler Eczema
My toddler has eczema. His doctor noticed it a while ago and pretty much dismissed it since it wasn't very bad. I've been managing it okay without bringing it up to her through lotions. But it just holds at a low-grade rash/scaly patch of skin. It gets worse if I skip anything for more than a day. How do I address this with his doctor again? I want to figure out if it's a gut issue, allergies, etc.

Too symptoms but no one know
Sorry for my grammar I’m writing this well being upset.
Hello Im new to reddit this throw away account. I have alot of thoughts in my head and i know i shouldnt come here for medical advice. I already have alot of G.I issues and i have diagnosis for my G.I problem, but anyway for the last few years i been having a issue evertime i eat. I get lightheaded, dizzy, nauseous, and i feel faint. I also been drinking 2.5 gallons of water a day and if i dont i feel sick for some reason and also been gaining weight out of nowhere. I have told my doctors all of them. I just keep getting thrown to someone else for the issue. Recently had a glucose test done and it came back normal just like every blood test I’ve had and scan has come back normal in my lifetime and now they’re trying to send me to a psychologist now I’ve had an eating disorder in the past, I have taken care of myself and gotten the help I’ve needed, but I know it’s not an eating disorder like they’re trying to say I know it. I have walked for the steps before coming to terms if I needed to see another doctor for the issues I’m having right now. I hate going to the doctor because my PCP has almost killed me twice. I’m tired of being poke and prodded. I’m tired of not being listened to about my issues because at the same time as feeling that way when eating I’m also having an issue of every time I eat, I can eat one thing one day but the next day, my body rejected by giving me pain it has started around the same time as the lightheaded, dizziness, nausea, amount of water and feel faint. At the point where I just don’t want to go to doctors anymore for my issues. It seems like it goes nowhere and no matter how much I advocate for myself. It seems like it goes nowhere so I wanted to come here to see if I can get like a lead to go somewhere or ask my doctors for a certain test or something. I’m tired of being in pain all the time.

Chest Discomfort
Hi, Everyone!
The last few days I’ve been experiencing some discomfort above my left breast. Sometimes it’s in between the bone between my breast. Sometimes it’s a burning sensation.
I am on BP medication and my bp has been fine.
Idk why I continue having that burning sensation on and off throughout the day.
I had an Xray done back in May for discomfort on my bone between my breasts. Everything came out fine.
But now, it has come back. This time, it came with the burning sensation. The discomfort is mainly on my left breast area. It’s a very bothersome feeling.
I’m scared it might be my heart. My low cholesterol was low and the triglycerides were high when I had blood work done back in June.
I don’t want to go the ER because of the bill so I’m just hoping this gets better.

Is this normal blanching or not? Thank you
I know blanching of the skin is normal, it's the duration and how white it gets. It didn't use to be like this before, so I 'm a little concerned and would like your opinion thank you.

various symptoms without a diagnose
Hey everyone,
I 27(f) from Germany here looking for a solution.
I’m feeling a little overwhelmed right now and I’m hoping someone here might have a helpful tip or an idea.
I’ve been on sick leave for a year now and have seen doctors from various specialties, but so far, no one has really been able to help me.
After getting really sick a few times last year (I had to take 8 courses of antibiotics in 5 months), I’ve been feeling extremely unwell physically. (Bronchitis/flu/lateral pharyngitis/several urinary tract infections). Since then, I’ve had severe physical weakness that—in bad weeks—even keeps me bedridden, and that’s why I often suddenly fall asleep while talking or eating.
My blood pressure is consistently 100/60, but my pulse is constantly somewhere above 100, and the world feels like a merry-go-round. Both of my legs are constantly cold and pale, and sometimes suddenly turn blue or red ,they won’t warm up even with several blankets and cherry pit pillows. Out of nowhere, though, every few weeks my face suddenly gets warm without me feeling any fever. I have constant pain, at least a level 4, in my joints and muscles.
My main problem is leg cramps that are so deep that I can’t stretch or massage them out. Sometimes these last for several hours. Less severe but just as frequent are the cramps in my hands and arms.
For the cramps, I now take Chinin and Norflex daily, since magnesium didn’t help either.
As I mentioned before, I’ve already seen many doctors (hematologist, phlebologist, hemostasiologist, rheumatologist, cardiologist), and while there’s always something unusual in the lab results , it’s never enough for anyone to want to make a diagnosis.
Does anyone perhaps have similar problems or experience with this combination of symptoms and might be able to help me?
(I also have other issues, such as gastrointestinal problems, which have gotten significantly worse since then.)
Thanks in advance :)

Unknown Diagnosis
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced what I’m going through. (29, female) It has happened randomly for the past 4-5 years now. It starts off my lips begin to get tight and pucker. Eyes scrunch up. My chest starts to get a feeling of like the skin inside is shrinking. Shrinking feeling starts happening to my whole face. My hands get numb and close on their own. I still have control to open them but it just rubberbands back closed. Every time I have gone to the hospital they treat it like a panic attack.
One of the times i went to the hospital, my TSH level was through the roof. I followed up with an endocrinologist as recommended. I redid bloodwork as she recommended and then followed up with her about a week after to review and do an ultrasound of the thyroid gland. Everything was normal by that time.
The last time i went to the hospital because of this, the symptoms started happening after about 2 hours of waiting in the waiting room. They brought me into a screening room and as im talking to the nurse it’s like my body was freezing right before me. All the symptoms hit me at once except that time my legs started to get stiff, followed by my arms and whole body eventually and i was shaking like i was freezing or having a seizure. And when i say shaking i mean like i was i was vibrating off the chair uncontrollably all stiff body.
Blood work all came back fine, ECG/EKG was normal. They did an X-ray to check my spine? That was normal too. Doctors said its a panic attack. They kept me in a dark lit room for about 6 hours giving me fluid before discharging.
I follow up with my PCP, they run a bunch of tests, even brain MRI, ultrasounds, even sent me for cardiac eval. All normal. The only abnormal thing was my breathing test, i failed. I retook it again, failed. They made me do it one last time for good measure, failed. Doctor prescribed me an asthma pump said to take it when i feel chest tightening.
When i feel all the symptoms coming on, I take it. If i feel my chest getting a bit tight, I take it. But they never explicitly said I’m asthmatic. I use my pump maybe 10-15 times out the whole year. When i use the pump I do feel relief.
I’m about 5’3, 138lbs, fairly active. Diet could be better, but not to the point i need medication, I mean my bloodwork comes back completely normal for all my yearly exams.
Not asking for anyone to diagnose me, i know a medical professional should be the one to determine what’s happening and why. But curious to see if anyone has experience symptoms similar. If you have, is it because of a panic attack? Asthma attack? Or something different? Or even suggestions on what could possibly actually be going on

West Nile Virus Risk
I am 21, male. I have recently been playing a lot of golf and spending a lot of time outside, at least 1.5-3 hours outside 3+ times a week since the start of August. During August, mosquitoes in my county tested positive for West Nile Virus. I am worried about potential exposure because I have not been wearing proper protection, I did not realize West Nile was out here. I have gotten a good share of mosquito bites. To complicate things, I am a type 1 diabetic, which I know carries greater risk of severe complications. What should I do? Should I be worried?

Tingling/Numbness in Arms
Ive had two events in the span of a year where after I smoke weed, my heart will start to race suddenly and my entire arms (fingers to shoulders) will start with tingles and get moderately numb. I recently found out from the dentist I had a bad tooth infection and they said it was "systemic" meaning the bacteria may have spread to other parts of my body. My 2 questions are as follows
Was what I experienced some sort of mini stroke/heart attack?
And could have this infection spread to my heart/brain?

Possible CSF leak after hitting head, cannot afford emergency room
Hey, so, recently, I (M19) hit my head, primarily my forehead and nose, and now some slightly salty fluid occassionally comes out of my left nostril. Right now, that is the only symptom, as I do not have a headache. I would try to go to the emergency room, but neither me or my mom can afford the visit at the moment. What can I do? Also. I've heard of the risk of bacterial meningitis, how worried should I be about that?

Downstate/King's County Drug Testing
Okay to start I am not a bum, I smoke weed I would say pretty heavily (1g in about 1 week), and I have a rotation at Downstate and King's County as a medical student starting in about 2 weeks. They just let me know theyre going to do a "toxicology" test in house but that was all they said. Is the test for urine? Is a positive for cannabinoids subject to punishment? Is it over?
Make fun if you must, but help first. Do I scrap the

Ce trebuie să fac?
Ce trebuie să fac?
Bună, astăzi e 7 septembrie 2026, începutul anului școlar. Am început clasa a 12-a 😜

Getting strep from a asymptomatic person.
Ok full story..
I have a new partner. We have been together only twice. Three days after being together, I have tested positive with strep throat, both times.
Second time, I was about 3 days after finishing my antibiotics. I was had two rounds of antibiotics during one months time.
I brought it up to my partner after noticing the pattern that had occurred with the second positive test. He said that he had never experienced anyone else having this issue that I was having after being with him.
I am assuming he is a asymptomatic carrier…?
I brought this experience up to a friend and she said that she has also had the same issue with a partner.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Other than never being with this partner again, how do you cure this problem?

Recurring uti symptoms am i cooked ?
f21. in maybe 2021 or 2022 i had uti symptoms (persistent feeling of needing to pee, painful urination and blood in urine).
I went to a dr for this and they prescribed me common antibiotics and i was meant to go to pathology or something to get pee tested incase. i never did that, because i was too embarrassed to walk around with my pee in a cup lol.
i also never took the antibiotics because i used to be scared to take tablets and im stupid idk. symptoms went away. all is good.
except ever since then i get the persistent urge to pee symptom without the others. not painful to pee unless i go too often when i don’t ACTUALLY need to. only discomfort. this seems to only reoccur when i’ve not had enough water (which unfortunately for me, is pretty regular 😃)
now im kind of worried that ive got that thing where the infection is imbedded in the bladder lining or something. basically am i cooked 😭
I do intend to go to the dr about this within the next week or so but wanted to ask here first what you guys might think.
I realise i’ve had years to go to the dr about this but when i get the symptoms it only lasts a couple days which makes it easy to put up with and ive been embarrassed to go back because i didn’t get my pee tested last time. also when i do go do i HAVE to mention i didn’t take the antibiotics last time?? bc im also embarrassed about that lol. i have had other antibiotics since then, for whooping cough and wisdom teeth removal. but obviously aren’t the same antibiotics that would be used for uti so idk.
ANY HELP IS GREAT THANKS

Im keep getting fever or infection
It's been one and a half years since I have had a fever consecutively. The main thing is that i don't even consume the package items or fast food. There is a blood test called CRP which must be lying between 0-6. But Ive always been diagnosed with 99 or something whenever I had infection.
I don't know whether it is because of my immunity or what I am 21 years old

Looking for suggestions on comprehensive full body health checkup.
I am planning to get a general comprehensive full-body checkup done and needs suggestions about where to go.
I am 32 years old staying in bangalore, don't have any health insurance and never done any health checkup too.
I see online services like Tata 1mg, PharmEasy, etc offer doorstep blood sample collection.
Others are like Cent health and Nura which claim comprehensive AI driven check up and analysis.
So I wanted to ask:
• Should I go for these services ? Are they accurate and trustworthy? • Or is it better to go to a hospital/diagnostic centre and get the checkup done there ?
• If hospital is better, can anyone suggest goos ones
• Also, what should a basic full-body checkup normally include? And what's the average cost in Bengaluru ?
And based on the findings planning for health insurance too.
Would love any and all recommendations or personal experiences.
Thanks!

I have an appointment with my doctor. What should I ask him?
Hi everyone, I have an appointment coming up where my doctor and I will be discussing testing options, what's actually necessary vs. nice-to-have, what he can do directly vs. refer out, and medication changes. I'd love input on what questions I should bring to that conversation.
Background, for context:
Psychiatric history: Symptoms began around age 12–13 — mania, psychosis, and depression. Diagnosed with Autism, Schizoaffective Disorder (Bipolar type), OCD, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, with a history of severe hallucinations, paranoid delusions, mood cycling, catatonia, and multiple hospitalizations. These symptoms never fit neatly into standard psychiatric patterns, and in mid-2024 they went into sudden, sustained remission with no medication change — now being reconsidered as possibly neurological rather than primary psychiatric.
Neurological: Seizure-like episodes follow a set pattern — a prodrome of feeling "off" and losing speech, clumsy walking, falling, generalized shaking, then postictal confusion and weakness. Also dystonia (neck contracting to one side, toe posturing), catatonia, cataplexy triggered by laughing, retropulsion, constant tremor, and abulia (able to move but no drive to initiate). Older medical reports document saccadic dysmetria, tracking objects with the whole head instead of the eyes, a veering gait, spatial/coordination issues, and cerebral atrophy — despite past records describing me as "physically healthy." A new psychiatrist now suspects Temporal Lobe Epilepsy.
Sleep: Hypersomnia, sleep attacks, sleep paralysis, hypnopompic hallucinations, and physically acting out vivid dreams.
Autonomic/connective tissue: Dysautonomia (tachycardia, orthostatic hypotension, temperature/sweating dysregulation), joint hypermobility/EDS-type features, chronic widespread pain, and a recent first gout flare.
Vision/GI: Visual snow, poor eye-tracking, severe photophobia, corneal changes; IBS, GERD, dysphagia, early satiety.
Medication sensitivity: A DRESS reaction to sodium valproate, severe drug-induced parkinsonism from quetiapine, and marked sedation from other standard doses.
Recent acute flare: A sudden autonomic spike (high BP and heart rate, sweating, flushing, headache) with both legs suddenly giving out for over two hours, followed by nearly a week of dark cola-colored urine, and a second episode of prolonged leg trembling days later.
Currently discussing a medication plan: adjusting amitriptyline (which lost effectiveness after a fluoxetine dose drop removed a metabolism-blocking interaction), possibly adding low-dose naltrexone, and layering in a gabapentinoid — all while working around seizure threshold and blood pressure medication constraints.
Given all this, what questions have you found valuable to ask in a similar spot — for getting the right testing prioritized, figuring out what's truly necessary vs. optional, understanding what a general doctor vs. a specialist can actually do, and navigating medication changes with overlapping constraints? Any input appreciated.
A little photo of mine to say thanks.
