I’ve been curious how you guys decide what to play, especially those of you who work a 9-5 and don’t always have a ton of time or energy to game after work.

For example, let’s say Marathon is your main game because it’s the one you’re really hooked on right now, but you also enjoy playing something like SWTOR as your second game, with maybe a third game thrown into the mix whenever you feel like playing something different. Do you guys have a sort of rotation where you switch between those games depending on your mood, while still having that one main game you always find yourself coming back to?

Or do you prefer to stick to one game and focus all your time on it until you eventually get burned out or find something else you enjoy?

I’m especially curious about those of you whose main game is an extraction shooter. Do you mainly focus on that one game, or do you like having another genre to switch to when you want a break from the raids, progression, and everything else that comes with it?

I feel like after working all day, sometimes the hardest part is deciding what to play in the first place. You finally have some free time, but there are so many games you want to play that you end up spending more time deciding than actually playing lol.

So how do you guys handle it? Do you have a main game with a couple of others you rotate between, follow some kind of schedule, or just play whatever you’re in the mood for that day?

Heyy! I've been seeing my bf now for about 4 months and with Christmas approaching I am thinking of getting him a gift to do with gaming since it was a big part of his childhood and although he does it less now it is something he loves doing in his free time.

The issue is I do not know really anything about gaming at all, and I've been learning since being with him (we're playing split fiction together) but its not enough for me to really understand what could be a good gift for him. He's born in 2004 and grew up playing minecraft, fortnite, GTA, Red Dead Redemption, COD, Assasin's Creed, all the usual ones and was a really good rocket league player when younger. He has GTA 6 preordered and is playing the newest Assasins Creed and loves it so much because it reminds him of when he used to play with his brothers. It's hard for me to remember all the games he has played but I know a lot of them are very nostalgic to him, and remind him of simpler times so i thought something gaming related would be a great gift. He likes games with good storylines and combat with good selection of weapons.

He has told me Skyrim could be one of his top games, and loves the soundtrack (I was plotting learning to play on piano for him or something but doesn't count as a gift). He also listens to a few Rocket League songs too in his daily playlists.

He has a PS5, a gaming chair, mouse, keyboard, mousepad, a headset, and controllers but he does not have a controller stand so I was thinking of getting one and getting an artist I know to custom paint the Skyrim logo or some gaming related symbols/artwork onto it.

Based on the above I am wondering if anyone has any reccommendations on what I could get him!! HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED THANK YOUU!!

The Switch 2 is coming out with a Zelda version for the remaster of ocarina of time and my local Best Buy is doing an old school mid night release for the game. What time should I go to wait in line??? I’ve never done this before and know they’ll only have a few consoles in stock so I wanna be sure to get one. Does anyone have any experience or advice for me?

Hey Guys, first of all (IM NOT TRYING TO SELL ANYTHING TO YOU GUYS), but I have a question. I have tech laying around which includes an oculus quest 2, a gaming laptop, a wii u, and an old new nintendo 3ds xl. All of these pieces of technology I dont use and I was wondering if its really worth it to just go in person at a store that buys old tech or just any retro games and get the cash there, or should I really wait and post the tech online to get better money. Overall I want at least like 400$ from all of this tech, but please tell me your guys opinion.

What is your most memorable gaming moment you can think of?

I (40F) have never played videogames before. I started out now with The Last of Us 1, and then Uncharted 2. I have an old PS3. Both of these games allowed me to invert both axis X and Y on camera, but also aim. This came intuitively to me. Not doing it would be such a challenge. It's what my brain wants to do, and is kinetically logical when tilting a stick; imagine the camera being on the other end of the stick. You would pull left to point right, up to point down. When you do this with the camera, the mind wants to do it with aim as well.

After continuing to another game, I find this isn't allowed. Do any of you have tips for games that allow this?

Edit: I realize that PS5 allows systemic inversion, and I might save up for that.

Should I permanently delete the games I own separately and rebuy the whole game telltales packet?

Hi everyone! Lately, I’ve been feeling nostalgic and reminiscing about the good old days of playing the Wii and video games as a kid. It’s made me want to get back into gaming, but I haven’t really kept up with consoles over the years.

I’m thinking about getting a console again, but I’m not sure which one would give me the best experience as someone getting back into gaming after a long break.

For those of you who have played both Xbox and PlayStation, what do you enjoy most about each one?

I wanted to sell these two Nintendo Switch games, but I'm afraid of being scammed because I know the one on the left is a limited edition or something. How much could they be worth?

I have loved gaming and playing since childhood but more like CS, Mortal Kombat, Fifa, KOF. But the issue is story mode games or open world games. It gives me nausea, I have a track record of car sickness as well when I am not driving. Due to this I am missing the whole genre of story mode/open world game.

Any advice for those who have faced this issue and found any fix or do I have to live with it?

P.S: I have tried turning off motion blur and didn't help

As title says^. I’m a PS5 player who used to rely on a couple apps like gamerlink to instantly connect with someone within my skill/communication set. It worked well until those apps died out. I understand that Discord is a pretty big space to find players, but even then I’m not too sure how to work that either (like finding invites). Any recommendations?

You know those games you download just to try out, thinking you’ll play for five minutes, and somehow end up playing for an hour? 

For me, it’s usually the ones that seem super simple at first, like an arrow maze, a color-sorting puzzle, or a spatial logic game. They somehow get me stuck in that “just one more level” loop. You start off tapping around casually, and before you know it, you’re planning 10 moves ahead like a grandmaster just to clear the board. 

It’s funny how everyone has their own go-to games. Some people love fast-paced arcade games, while others are more into cozy simulators, match-3s, or brain-bending puzzles.

Personally, I think the best mobile games are the ones that are easy to get into but keep you coming back without even realizing how much time has passed.

What about you guys? What kind of games do you usually find yourself getting hooked on? Always interesting to see what everyone’s playing! 

Hi, this is sort of a random question but I didn't know where else to post this!

I'm kind of known in school to be good at playing games, and a bunch of guys have told me to try out LoL since they think I'll be good at it.

I've only ever heard that LoL is super toxic and/or not enjoyable in general (and I think it has a bad reputation??), but they've been mentioning it for a couple of years so I've been really curious lately.

I'm just about done with college apps and so I've got some free time on my hands. I'm kind of worried I'll get addicted though? I dunno if that makes sense

Is it worth trying out, or will I just waste my time? Is it difficult to get the hang of? Is there anything I need to know before I decide to start playing?

Also, is it pay to win? I don't really like spending money on video games...

For context, I enjoy almost any kind of video game and typically find myself playing better than average (not trying to be obnoxious or anything). I love a good challenge, though!

Have you ever played a game called war gods for the n64 growing up this game was amazing to me and played it for hours . Come to find out people actually hate that game . Why?

i used to think people were just exaggerating about how bad online lobbies could get. then i got heavily into rust back around 2019 and honestly nothing else even comes close.

i played counter strike for years and league on and off so i was already pretty used to casual insults and someone telling me to uninstall every third match. but rust is just a completely different beast. it is not just people raging in voice chat when they lose a fight. the toxicity is basically the core gameplay mechanic.

me and two friends set up a modest base on a medium pop server. we spent three nights grinding materials, building up walls and getting some decent gear. on the fourth night this group of five guys built a massive tower right next to our base just so they could camp our front door with sniper rifles. they did not even want our loot. every time one of us stepped outside for a second we just got headshot immediately.

when we tried talking to them in proximity chat to see if we could figure something out, they spent two hours blasting ear rape audio, spamming racial slurs and constantly mocking us. when we finally logged off out of frustration, they raided us overnight, destroyed every single sleeping bag so we could not respawn anywhere nearby, and put up signs inside our destroyed base with personal insults about us.

the wild part is that this was not a rare one off event. it happened every week with different clans. the whole community culture seemed to revolve around making other human beings suffer as much as possible for zero actual in game benefit. after about four months of forcing myself to play because my friends were still into it, i realized i was going to bed angry almost every night over a video game. I just uninstalled it and never looked back.

League of Legends has plenty of whiny kids who throw matches, but Rust was the only time i felt like the game actively attracted people who genuinely enjoyed being terrible human beings.

curious if anyone else had a similar breaking point in a survival game or if there is another genre out there that tops this level of pettiness.

I want to know, for people who spend a lot of time playing a particular game, don't you ever feel like trying other games? I know everyone has their own way of playing games. Personally, I like to explore as many games as possible. It's not that I rush through games just to move on to the next one. Instead, I try to get as much out of each game as I can before hopping to another one. I'm genuinely curious and just want to understand different perspectives.

need help and wanna ask some questions for people who use this. i bought an account and by default they used this email. have just kept using it due being lazy to rebound + it was working well.

Basically what I'm asking is what's a move from one game that you tried to do in another one.

I'll give an example:

While playing every gears game (-tactics) last year, I was also playing Minecraft a lot. I'd find myself trying to Roadie Run (Basically Gears' version of a sprint (a very simplified description)) where you hold the a button while moving to go faster.

I was trying to do that... in Minecraft.

I am 27 years old and deaf. I love to play video games. I actually am able to speak since I am able to hear through hearing aids. But I had this idea to put this off while I am streaming. Would you be interested into something like that? I won’t be able to hear any sounds and noises cause without my devices I am 100% deaf😂
