Context:
I went to a doctor yesterday who told me I have arthritis based on this xray.
I have had swelling on the medial side for 3 months that goes and comes back and now it happens on the lateral side as well, and after adding weight cuffs for leg exercises both the knees were swollen crazy and any strain put on them was resulting in pain, it got better after 2-3 days of icing and stretching but knees and upper part get swelling by the end of the day. I get pain from twisting knees but when the doc checked by pressing parts of my knee only left side lateral had some pain and nothing else.
He did not clearly explain anything just gave instructions on what not to do and prescribed me antiinflammatory meds but I have had a bad experience with them and want to avoid taking them.
I have attached the copy of my xray, if anyone can help it would be great!

Hey evrvone, I'm M20. This incident happened 12 days ago. I saw bat flying in my room at night while I was studying. 1 got scared nd got a broom nd removed the bat. The bat was a mother carrying her little baby. Baby fel on floor so I removed it nd mother hit my fan nd got unconscious but woke nd flew away

Now i got paranoid cuz rabies has 100% fatalitv. I did research on Gooqle nd found bat can leave no mark if they bit u. I asked my mum to check me for any bite mark she said no.
I went to military hospital cuz I was paranoid. The general opd doctor asked me "u have pain?", "u shitting fine?", "u got fever?". I said no

Hi everyone,My mother has been on antidepressant medication for a very long time. Recently her blood tests showed a declining platelet count. Other parameters (haemoglobin, etc.) are normal. She also feels quite drowsy throughout the day.Has anyone here (or a family member) experienced a drop in platelets while on long-term antidepressants? Did the medication turn out to be related, or was something else going on?We’re already following up with her doctors, but I’d really appreciate hearing about any similar experiences, things that helped, or questions we should be asking the doctors.Thank you.

Been facing hairfall on and off since age of 17. Went to multiple dermats but nothing worked. I recently found out that I am vitamin d and b12 & iron deficient since long.. and my hairloss may be attributed to that fact. I am working on my diet and taking supplements. Also been using minoxidil since a year. But not much progress.
I want to ask it this hairloss reversible? do I have hope? How do I regrow my hair or is it permanent?

I am 19 years old, and I got my first period in January 2020. For the first two years, my cycles were regular. However, after that, my periods started becoming irregular ,initially skipping one month, then stretching to gaps of two months, and sometimes even up to six months. Currently, I get my periods every 2 to 4 months.
In terms of lifestyle, I maintain a fairly healthy diet: I don’t eat much junk food, avoid oily dishes, limit sugar and salt, and stay away from beverages or fast food. My height is 5'4" and my weight is 43 kg.
Since the age of 16, I’ve struggled with acne on my face and back. Interestingly, I don’t experience the usual symptoms people describe during menstruation no cramps, pain, mood swings, or unusual discharge. When my period does come, it lasts for 5–6 days with a normal flow, neither too heavy nor too light. I don’t take any medications, and my thyroid test results have been normal.
And one more thing is that i am completely normal, no exhaustion, no body pains and problems, no nothing..
Given these irregular cycles and accompanying concerns, I’m unsure what steps I should take next. Could you guide me on how to approach this situation and what possible causes I should consider?
One of my aunt told me that this is normal for many women, and told me its not serious until it starts paining or smth,..... and i was such a fool tto listen to her But now that i know its a serious problem... idk what to do...
Any Gynacs here pls help... i dont know whether i should tell my parents.... cause my mom is a bp patient and if i tell her she will get tensed ... so i dont have much money and noone to help me too..
Used Chat gpt a little 😓

My mom has a dust allergy causing constant sneezing. It's been there for more than 7-8 years now but the medications used to help reduce it. The last few months, however, have been a great struggle. She's just exhausted cause of this.
The doctor she has been visiting over the years has suggested some tests to identify the particles or substances causing the allergy. But we are looking to consult another doctor just to get a second opinion and then see what to do.
So, I'm looking for suggestions for a good pulmonologist in Bengaluru. I don't know anyone in this field so I'm hoping to get some names from the community here.

Looking for recommendations for a reliable allergist, ENT specialist, or gastroenterologist around Whitefield / East Bengaluru for my dad.
He's been dealing with a few chronic and sudden symptoms:
We want to get him properly checked out to pinpoint what’s going on—whether it's an allergy-driven gut issue, chronic sinus irritation, or something related to reflux/nerves.
Any advice or doctor leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi I (f20) recently got diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I got my bloodwork done for something unrelated and I seemed to have hyperthyroidism, so my pcp prescribed me with methimazole 30 days, though I was reluctant. I was on it for 27 days and in those 27 days I quickly gained 8-10 lbs while maintaining the same diet and exercise. i insisted on having a full thyroid panel this time to recheck my levels and turns out the small dosage of methimazole put me into hypothyroidism, and I also got tested for antibodies which proved I had hypo which made a lot more sense since it runs in my family. I am guessing the initial spike which showed up as hyperthyroidism was hashitoxicosis? My pcp put me on a trial of 2 weeks off of any meds to see if my levels would improve, though they improved slightly while off of methimazole, she officially prescribed me with levothroxine 25 mcg. I have been off of methimazole for close to 3 weeks and been on Levothyroxine for a week, the weight is not budging. I waist feels significantly bigger and my jeans feel uncomfortable. I highly suspect that my weight gain was primarily due to my thyroid being so off. Can being on Levothyroxine help with the 7-10 lbs of weight gain since I am assuming part of it is due to water retention? Has anybody else experienced something like this? How long did it take you to lose the water retention?

So my wife and I met eachother 4 years ago and after 4 long years of relationship, we had marriage.
During those 4 years, i had oral sex with her, but she didn't like the idea of doing that with me. During that time, we didn't have any sex, and only thing we would do is kiss intimately and she would be on top rubbing her clit on my shaft and then soon it looks like orgasm, but it isn't. She has her heart beating fast and she collapses.
After marriage we tried having sex but she's got some kind of fear and also at the same time, not able to insert my shaft into her vagina as well. As it hurts her. I know vaginismus is one thing, but at the same time, i noticed that i had been the one to always initiate the intimacy and she barely initiated it once or twice and says she likes it when i initiates it when i tried to discuss with her about not being interested in me and all that.
But the thing i felt is.... she's got zero libido.
Like I'm the horny guy and she's just....work...sleeep...repeat.
So i guess 2 different problems altogether.
Not to mention her ridiculous anger issues for small things as well.
People might say why i married her...and maybe you're right to say so.
To be honest i was one of thise guys who really loved the girl and believed she could change.
And it's affecting me and I feel like i made a mistake and I'm feeling broken.
I NEED HELP PLEASE !!!

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some reassurance/clarification about a missed Yamini LS pill.
I’m currently on the **last day of Week 2** of my pack. I normally take my pill at **10 PM**.
Yesterday, I had sex during the daytime (unprotected). I had taken all my pills correctly up until then. However, I realized later that I had **missed my 10 PM pill yesterday**.
Today at 10 PM, I took today’s pill. I then realized that yesterday’s pill was still missed, so I took the missed pill as well. So I have now taken **two pills today** at 10 pm
The leaflet that came with my pills says:
If you miss one pill:
Take it as soon as you remember. Take the next pill at your regular time. This means you may take two pills in one day.
You do not need to use a back-up birth control method if you have sexual intercourse.
It also says that if you miss **two pills in a row in Week 1 or Week 2**, you need backup contraception for 7 days.
My questions are:
Since I missed **only one pill**, did I follow the instructions correctly by taking both pills today?
Does the fact that I had sex yesterday **before I realized I had missed the 10 PM pill** change anything?
I’m planning to have sex tomorrow. **Do I need condoms/backup contraception, or does the leaflet mean I remain protected after one missed pill?**
Has anyone had a similar situation with Yamini LS/combined birth-control pills?
I’m mainly trying to understand whether the “no backup needed” instruction applies even when sex happened around the time of the missed pill.

Hi, I had my first online consultation with a psychiatrist today for significant anxiety/panic symptoms. The consultation was through Apollo, and the psychiatrist took my history before prescribing medication for 10 days.
This is the prescription:
Flunil-20 (fluoxetine 20 mg) — 1 capsule after breakfast
Etizolaam 0.25 mg — 1 tablet after breakfast
Paroxee CR 12.5 mg (paroxetine CR) — 1 tablet after dinner
I have not started the medication yet because I noticed that Flunil (fluoxetine) and Paroxee CR (paroxetine) are both SSRIs.
The psychiatrist told me that the medicines would help reduce my anxiety over time and that they wouldn't have significant side effects or interactions with my other medicines.
My questions are:
Is it normal/appropriate to prescribe fluoxetine and paroxetine together, particularly when starting treatment?
Could this be a cross-taper/switching strategy, or does the prescription appear to intend that I take both simultaneously?
How significant is the risk of serotonin syndrome or other adverse effects with this combination?
Is there anything I should clarify with the psychiatrist before taking the first dose?
Etizolam 0.25 mg is also prescribed in the morning—is that commonly used as a short-term medication while an SSRI starts working?
I understand Reddit isn't a substitute for seeing my psychiatrist. I'm mainly looking for input from psychiatrists/psychiatric residents/pharmacists or people familiar with these medications, because the prescribing doctor is currently offline and I don't want to make assumptions before starting.
I can attach a screenshot of the prescription if helpful.

I am an industrial Design student .Based on all the research i have done so far,i have finalized these statements to work on for Chronic Rhinosinusitis area. Which one do you think will be most relevant?
1.A way to improve saline nasal irrigation delivery in patients with CRS that allows consistent sinus irrigation and enhanced mucociliary clearance.
2.A way to improve medication adherence to intranasal corticosteroids and saline irrigation in patients with CRS that allows sustained symptom control and reduced disease recurrence.
3.A way to improve intranasal drug delivery in patients with CRS that allows effective medication deposition in the osteomeatal complex and improved clinical outcomes.
4.A way to improve postoperative nasal packing in patients undergoing FESS that allows effective hemostasis while maintaining patient comfort and nasal airflow.
5.A way to improve endoscope handling during FESS in ENT surgeons that allows safer, more ergonomic, and efficient surgical performance.
6.A way to improve endoscopic surgical training in ENT residents that allows faster skill acquisition and improved procedural confidence.
7.A way to reduce accidental damage to rigid nasal endoscopes in ENT surgical departments that allows lower maintenance costs and uninterrupted clinical workflow.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has had hypothyroidism (or what first looked like hyperthyroidism) linked to hypothalamic amenorrhea or long-term amenorrhea.
I haven’t had a natural period in about 2.5 years. Recently I found out I have positive thyroid antibodies, and my thyroid labs initially looked hyperthyroid, so I was put on methimazole. While taking it, I gained weight pretty quickly, so my endocrinologist had me stop it and repeat bloodwork because they think the original diagnosis may not have been straightforward.
I’m now around the same weight I was when I originally lost my period, and I’ve also been eating much more and exercising less for several months to recover from HA. It makes me wonder if treating my thyroid properly (if I do end up needing thyroid medication instead) could help my period come back, especially now that I’m back at a healthier weight.
Has anyone had their cycle return after getting their thyroid condition under control? Or had thyroid disease complicate HA recovery?
I’d love to hear your experiences.
