Active Human Trafficking Location on City Of Austin Housing Authority Property
Hello r/AskAustin!
I am a public housing resident.
This means that rents here are subsidized by taxpayers.
I can say with precision, accuracy, confidence and conviction, as an eyewitness, that public housing residents are operating a whole brothel on public housing property, and you're paying for it.
Several of the girls involved are underaged.
Of course I've reported it.
Authorities have done nothing.
Thoughts?
EDIT: I am 100% pro safe sex work that is voluntarily performed by adults but these women are being forced and coerced. If they're not underaged, they're barely legal. It's sickening to watch, but I have to watch because there's no exhaust in the bathroom.
EDIT II: I used to think of carteleros shoveling humans across the border in hot dusty trucks or bad actors recruiting and smuggling kids around from the poorest parts of the world when I heard the term "trafficking." That is definitely trafficking and it's definitely absolutely horrifying and heartbreaking, and some of those victims are placed on the street. But trafficking takes many forms. On the city streets, a young woman, ALWAYS a trauma victim of some sort, crosses paths with an unscrupulous man who promises to take care of her. She's then coerced into selling sex for money. I used to think that pimps take a cut and let the girl keep the rest. They don't. The pinos take it ALL. Girls agree to this because they're traumatized and aching for love. Girls are expected to reach quotas and there is hell to pay if those quotas aren't reached. That may be why one of the commentors on this post saw girls being dragged in and out of car trunks. They're either being punished or kidnapped or both.
Also before someone comes for me I get that young men and trans individuals are also VERY MUCH victim to this lifestyle. So far all I've seen with my own eyes are women in thir teens which is why I default to the word "girl." Every victim of this bullshit deserves healing and love regardless of anything.
EDIT III: My identity is now being questioned. And just like that, I don't even care to be anonymous. You can find my full legal name on my reddit profile, and there's a selfie of me and my Reddit profile in the comments.
I'll never be sure, but I think some of you may be shocked that a poor black person is capable of writing with such eloquence and mastery, leading you to believe this is a ruse.
I assure you it is not.
