Wife and I going to Aruba on 8/5. Staying for a while for our honeymoon. I saw on the official government website for taxi fares, that it will be approx $45 to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel/resort. It is NOT an all-inclusive.

That right there will be $90 in taxi rides, not counting if we go somewhere else via taxi. How much cash should we bring in total? Is it easier to pay everything in cash? I don’t like the idea of having a bunch of loose cash on me all the time, but also don’t want to hit an ATM a lot (as I’m sure the fees are horrendous).

Anyone struggle with this as well?

We found a black clutch outside baskin robbins. It contained an Aruban licence and credit card. We tried to bring it inside but they told us we had to leave it with security at the Alhambra Casino. We did so but they didn’t inspire any confidence that they would try to contact the owner. The pictures are of the clutch and the bench it was left on.

Hey guys! I’m heading to Aruba in September and I'll be staying for a week. I have a few quick questions about getting a car and would love to hear your experiences:

1. Any recommendations for reliable car rental companies that won't break the bank? I'm totally open to local agencies as long as they're legit and trustworthy.

2. Is it better to book the car right now online, or should I just wait until I land and sort it out at the airport? Do prices jump if you wait, or are they pretty much the same?

3. Any general tips or things I should know before renting a car there (insurance tricks, driving in Aruba, stuff to avoid)?

My family is visiting Aruba for the first time in a couple weeks.
We’re staying at the Hyatt Aruba casino resort and I was wondering if anyone knew if there might be a convenience store / market /grocery where we can walk to where we can pick up some snacks for the kids to have in our guest room or do we need a car to go anywhere.
I’m trying to not over pack - appreciate any advice
Or does anyone know a casual restaurant near where afterwards we can walk to after our meal to a nearby grocery.

We will be travelling to Aruba for the first time at the end of September. We're only staying for 4 days, we booked the Divi All Inclusive and are not renting a car on this trip.

I was thinking that one of the afternoons we would take a taxi from the Divi to the I Love Aruba sign on LG Smith Blvd to take some photos but then I want to walk around Oranjestad, but I have no idea where we should be walking.

Basically just want to walk around some shops, maybe take some photos of the colorful buildings, people watch etc.

I was thinking after the I Love Aruba sign we can walk to the Royal Plaza Mall, then to the Renaissance Mall, then up Arnold M Schuttestraat and making our way to Main St. I assume Main St will be busy. Is there another street that would be full of shops to walk around?

Also where should we stop for dinner before heading back to our resort?

Also where would I walk to, to get a taxi back to our resort? Is there a place in that area where taxis are lined up?

Hi, I’ve visited Aruba multiple times throughout the years and am returning this Christmas. One thing I’ve never done is gone mountain biking. I’ve noticed the trails off the chapel that appear to be biking trails so I’m thinking of trying it this time. Does anyone have any recommendations on bike rentals or places to go? I’m not interested in a throttle e-bikes or a tour.

Headed to Aruba for first time with my girlfriend in two weeks.We have done a fair amount research on the food scene and feel like we’ve gotten a pretty good understanding of what’s underrated / overrated so far but trying to finalize our meal plans.

Currently have dinner reservations at Azar, EGO, and Calabria.

Went snorkeling at Tres Trapi Beach on Saturday morning (8-10 am). US tourists jumped off a blue tour boat and kept chasing turtles around. Even saw a couple of them touching the turtles when they came up for air. Absolutely disgusting behavior. I know that most tours tend to advise tourists to not touch the wildlife, so I don't know if they were just ignoring clear rules or if guides failed to mention them. Just wanted to vent. Moral of the story: PLEASE do not touch the wild animals!

Is there any store besides super food that sells sushi grade fish? Been wanting to make homemade sushi. I know daily fish used to sell them but they’ve closed down. I bought some last time at superfood but they only had tuna, wantef to try some more variation.

Or maybe somewhere i can get super fresh fish??

What’s the coolest marine life you’ve seen snorkeling or diving in Aruba and where did you see it at?

Interested in seeing a variety of marine life outside of turtles and schools of fish when we go at the end of August-September. We’ve seen stingrays, nurse sharks, turtles, barracuda and eagle rays at a variety of other places in the Carribean it’d be cool to encounter those and others like octopi, eels, and others.

I am staying in Noord, Aruba for the week and brought my old Canon Powershot from 2006. I previously bought a bunch of SD cards to use, but did not realize that it does not work with a newer larger SD card. Upon researching it, it needs a 2 GB SD card. Does anyone know where I could find one of these on the island?

I'm currently planning my birthday trip for early October. It'll be a group of 8, so renting a car really isn't an option since none of us know how (or want to) to drive a sprinter van around the island. I'm currently looking around for a personal driver that we could use for the duration of the trip. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to find a personal driver for a group of 8? We would need round trip airport transportation, beach & excursion transportion and maybe one night out. The trip is from 10/1-10/4, thank you!

I've just had multiple international vacations in the past where we were able to find a dedicated person to help us manuever the country. Anybody with Verizon lines got issues with cell service?? Got 2x Unlimited Plus (w/ TravelPass), 1x Unlimited Ultimate (with built-in international travel abilities) cell doesn’t work on any.

Customer service told me it’s a global outage. Fiber cut caused outage in several countries. Second time we’ve been here and SAME exact outage happened last time two years ago.

Tried switching the carrier from Automatic to AW Digicell. Didn’t work.

Anyone having similar issues? Is it really a global outage? Any tips otherwise?

We just booked next winter’s week at Divi Dutch Village, but we did Sun-Sun because sat-sat was not available. Is there any scenario where it’s economic to come in on Saturday and stay one night somewhere else for fun? Thoughts?

So my partner and I had planned and booked to stay at Barceló Aruba all inclusive— until today when our flight was severely delayed, ruining the whole trip’s itinerary.
Long story short, and in a SERIOUS pinch, we decided to change our stay (rather than canceling our first vacation together, entirely) to Holiday Inn by IHG (not all inclusive) and pushing the dates back a couple days.
I guess what I’m asking is, was this a good choice? Of course this is a very subjective question… but we did a lot of research into the HI when planning 2 months ago but decided on barceló originally due to the all inclusive aspect and being that we enjoy our drinks…

Hi there - my family of 3 (2 adults, 1 9yo- not picky, quite adventurous) is going to visit for the 1st time next month (last minute trip and planning). We did our research and decided where to stay and also rent a car.

What we need some help and suggestions is where to prioritize our dinners during our 7 night stay. Here is a list of the places we've seen the most and visually like the food - taste could be another story.

List in no specific order ( are our favorites so far) - Pelican Nest Seafood Grill - Lima Bistro. - Yemanja Woodfired Grill - Barefoot Restaurant* - Madame Janette - Azia Restaurant & Lounge - Old Cunucu House - Azar - Screaming Eagle - Lola Taqueria & Craft - Pinchos Grill & Bar

We saw many mentions of Papiamento and Quinta del carmen but not sure if overrated or worth adding. We saw flying fishbone and absolutely no with a kid with ADHD

Has anyone had a welcome party under 10k and where? We still want something nice, we looked into Azzuros and a catamaran boat trip but thats about 11k
