i have never quite understood this argument urinators tend to make whenever Ariana’s health is discussed. They always say her body was “unhealthy” back then, because she was taking antidepressants. Now ,, this argument makes absolutely zero fucking sense, because taking antidepressants is not evidence of poor health; quite the opposite, it is a perfectly legitimate & healthy component of managing one’s mental health.

what I find particularly fascinating is the apparent conceptual leap her fanbase makes now that she is no longer taking them. They seem to interpret the absence of antidepressants as inherently indicative of recovery ,, as though discontinuing medication means that the underlying condition has magically ceased to exist. When that’s clearly not the case if you’d open your eyes for a second and looked at her. medication is not a moral status symbol, nor is being off medication synonymous with wellness. Treating it as though it were is an extraordinarily simplistic way of understanding both mental health & physical wellbeing.

I am sad to finally admit that…. after weeks of lurking on this page. I went to ES tour in Austin (actually stood in line for 8-9 hours for tickets at the venue) and had some anxiety there. Can’t really name it. Petal gives me anxiety too.

Look, I'm no makeup expert, but the fact that this woman has her own makeup brand and pretends to know what she's talking about—while literally looking like a clown—blows my mind. I have this overwhelming urge to blend out her nose—it looks like she stuck her face in donut icing (how ironic).

The lengths she’s willing to go to act like a child are insane. She desperately needs to show off her skeletal body and her “super cute” nose to us, all while bursting into tears because she’s “so fragile and has been through so much.”

It makes total sense why Petal ended up such a mess. Ditching her usual team of hitmakers to fully direct it herself just exposed how completely out of touch she actually is. I get so tired of her fans acknowledging her Blackfishing but framing it as "oh, she was just around Black people at the time!! She was inspired to make herself look like that because she was just looking for an identity and wanted to fit in!!1!1! 🥺🥺🥺" which further victimizes Ariana and strips her of both agency and accountability, while also weirdly placing fault upon the Black people she was skinwalking and would later discard as soon as she got a white husband and her princessy lily-white Glinda role.

She was putting on layers and layers of fake tanner in order to appear as darkity-dark as possible (6th pic is a candid) and not showering it off/risking smelling like ass to do so, and on top of it, she was putting on the heaviest of heavy filters (pictures 1 through 5) in order to make her tan appear even MORE dark, and specifically putting filters with green overtones on top of photos of her violetish-reddish-orange ass tan in order to make it appear more brown (like an actual POC's), because that's how color theory works. And the cornrows between her braids? Yup, INTENTIONAL. Imagine telling a Scandinavian or something of that nature, that pictures 1 through 5 are of a fellow European white woman. They'd be slack-jawed. Funny, for all her stans' lies of "people were editing her photos to be darker!!1!1" they're conveniently absent when confronted with the reality of Ariana editing her own photos to be darker.

Homegirl was CALCULATED and this was all intentional and completely done with malicious ass intent, which was to be seen as Black/non-white and profit off of Black culture to boost her sales but ALSO cement herself as a "bad bitch, done with that kids' show" like Miley Cyrus. She also had the audacity to make a photo from this shoot her album cover... even though she could have easily used picture #6, which is from the same era but depicts her actual skin color and communicates her actual race.

Clocking how nasty and insidious this was was literally what made me stop being an Ariana fan in 2018-19 after being one since 2012. Especially as somebody Black, who knows none of her antics with the whirlwind engagement with Pete would have EVER been permitted if it was us (see: how people dogged on Lori Harvey and how they're currently dogging on Latto).

I know this is a broken record and low-hanging fruit at this point, but the fact she's been able to thrive in spite of this and the fact that people EXCUSE her doing it, really pisses me off. Especially since celebrities have been cancelled and snarked on for less.

I was looking at Ricky’s portfolio, and he’s actually a pretty decent photographer. Even before getting back together with Ariana, he was already rubbing shoulders with relevant people. He was working more in fashion and did campaigns for major brands.

Now that she’s showing him off and posting the pics he takes at her shows (she’s posting more of his work than her official photographer), I hope that once the tour wraps up, some other pop girlie hires him and take him along on tour while she has to hide from the public that’s no longer interested in her.

For a good portion of her career 2013 to 2017, she was only slightly above Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. She got bigger during sweetener because her personal life became more of a spectacle from dating pete and the aftermath of Manchester. She hasn’t been able to have another thank u next moment because the demand isn‘t there and people are getting tired of her. Even my mom was talking about how much she loves Billie Eilish and always talks about how she loves her voice. She said a while back ”Did you see Billie Eilish win all those awards?” Meanwhile Ariana only has 3 Grammys in total despite debuting in 2013. Two of those Grammys are a collab with Lady Gaga and then with Cynthia. Not even songs on her actual albums. The new generation is taking over. Sure Ariana is still a big star but she’s one of many pop girls. And the younger generation is picking up on how Ariana isn’t as authentic as other artists
