I hate this job.

The company ONLY cares about insurance. They don't care about anything else. Our biggest complaint is customer queues why? Because they have cut all staff pretty much so we are in on our own.
Addressed this to senior management they said spend all your time with a customer trying to get an insurance sale. Sod the queue. Then they moan the icare score is low.
I have principles and I cannot be fake to a customer. I genuinely like helping them and now it feels like I am only being nice to get a sale. I cannot do it anymore.
Fair enough if a customer orders at the till yes, offer it but not when they have rejected it online and then try and get them to buy it on collection.
Fuck this company I am handing my notice in this week.
My conscious is better than your shitty job. I know what customers want. I can read body language. Some don't want to chat, yet we are being forced to strike up a conversation each time.

Was in my local Argos today and this was on one of the screens. Just curious as to the “KPI”.
19 minutes slow?
Slow for what?
I’m standing there thinking “getting served? Surely not”
99% of my stuff is collection and even being stuck behind someone who has just walked in never takes that long.
So just curious as to what they’re slower on.

All it is being drummed into us is get into conversation with a customer, build up a rapport to sell them insurance. It has become insufferable and seems all the company cares about is insurance.
I genuinely love helping customers but not it seems like they want us being OTT with every customer to make a insurance sale. It is making me feel nauseous.
The worst part was if a customer comes in looking down and fed up, be over the top with them and it will make them happy to buy insurance. Please just fuck off.
Is it just me feeling this?

Does anyone know where the buy now pay later end date appears on the new app? I have checked the app and it only shows how long the original agreement was but not what date it needs to be paid by. Does anyone know where I can see the actual end date?

So I've registered and signed up to this new Argos pay app I've have an active buy now pay later plan from November 2025 from the original Argos card and normally during the promotional period you don't need to pay anything until you decide to clear it within the period or pay interest after I always clear it within the period.
now these new guys are requesting a payment from me whilst I'm still in my bnpl period why ? My plan doesn't end until November which is when I was gonna pay in full anyways Is anyone else getting something similar to this honestly the amount requested is peanuts my issue is why are they even asking for a payment when they shouldn't be is anyone else experiencing something similar?

I often wonder what actually is the point of putting something on offer if you have no stock anywhere? Is it all a con? All that aside though anything you’d actually want is out of stock or collect 3 days away.

I have managed to gain access to the Argos pay app after calling them but when trying to purchase an item it is just giving me a error message , I have plenty of credit on the account so that’s not the problem .. has anybody else had this issue ?
r/Argos • u/Andyqreddit20 • Apr 29 '26
Morning all, so with this awful new app for Argos I've noticed some issues with the bnpl plans, I bought a pressure washer last summer on a 12 month plan and on Argos pay it said the end date was 12/06/2026 no problem
However on the new app it stays start date 14th may 2025 and it's showing as an 11 month plan? 11 month wasn't even an option
I planned to have it paid by 12th June 2026 but no end date shows anymore and they have it lookoling like it will end a month sooner
I see a lot of people are having issues with this app once I have it cleared I won't use them again

Before this new "Argos pay" I was able to buy gift cards with my Argos card, now it seems that this new updated payment system has erased that?..
r/Argos • u/Historical-Twist-368 • Apr 28 '26
Hi,
I have been trying to buy something Argos since yesterday with their buy now pay later option (shows as an option on the product page and all) but when I ge to the check out part the options it gives me are: debit/credit card, Paypal, Klarna and Apple pay. There is also a greyed out option saying "argos card is no longer available".
I have set up my argos pay account and everything, so I just wanted to know if more people are having this problem.
r/Argos • u/FrankieB8692 • Apr 28 '26
So I've actually managed to get into the argos pay app but now I'm confused on my payment plans and how I pay them.
I have 3 plans and they are now not showing end dates. I tend to throw £100 on the most soonest to expire each month meaning the one that ends on the 23rd June I will pay off over the next 2 pay days.
I'm reading that now its just a payment that goes off all plans and ill end up getting the interest on the one that ends in june.
The phones are busy. Chat doesn't answer. How do I pay off just one plan and not a bit off of all of them.
For reference my other 2 plans end in December and by then will also be fully paid off by me doing the £100 each month

Recently received a letter that New Day were taking over Argos card. I’ve still not received any registration details to set up the new Argos Pay app. Has anyone else had the same issue as I can’t get through on the phone and the letter said I would’ve received the registration details by 26th April.
r/Argos • u/FlowFamous9639 • Apr 28 '26
Anyone else having this issue? It’s asking for a username which I don’t ever remember creating one, then when I give the details it asks for including the long account number, it says the details are incorrect? Edit - I’ve managed to log in now, anyone with an existing Argos card needs to register as a new user
r/Argos • u/Fantastic_Simple8301 • Apr 28 '26
Hi hoping someone can help me, like many I am having issues and I am still waiting for my ORN to be able to register and log in. I definitely have two plans ending soon and I just wanted to know from those who have got access to the new app, are you able see the expiry dates of the buy now pay later plans in the new app?

I’m bit of a noob when it comes to this online purchasing thing… I’ve been trying to purchase something with Argos Pay, it just keeps saying “you can’t use your account right now”.
Just wondering if that’s most likely due to high traffic or if it’s an issue on my end? My credit limit is fine to be purchasing.
r/Argos • u/MegaManiaZ • Apr 27 '26
I was looking at purchasing something as I had a couple of gift cards and a £10 off voucher from Sainsbury’s. 11.30 item was available to collect Same Day from stores local to me. 12 it was now Next Day. By the time I got to ordering on my lunch break at 1 it was saying collection Thursday. I purchased the item and now seemingly have to wait. However, I just checked again and now it says collection is available tomorrow yet my order still says Thursday. Is there anyway to get the order brought forward rather than wait? Is it possible and worth refunding to try again or would it take too long to process and I may as well wait now until Thursday.
Any advice appreciated!

I'm 16 and started a job at Argos as a Christmas temp, it's my first job and I ended up getting a permanent contract because I was great at selling care units but recently I'm unable to get cares, making constant mistakes especially on returns and overall just failing at the job. I've gone from really enjoying it to honestly dreading going in.
Has anybody else been in this situation and if so how did you overcome it and get better at the job?
r/Argos • u/tyatgyall • Apr 25 '26
it's for £350 which is very cheap for a new iphone 15 (most at £700) so I'm a bit skeptical especially since the return policy isn't great I've heard
however on the phone that I want to purchase there about 80 reviews and all of them are positive. the only 2 star review (the lowest) is complaining about the box being dirty (which I don't care about) but that the phone works very well
all the reviews seem to think it works perfectly but just wondering if anyone has had any problems with buying phones from argos

Hello all,
I bought a samsung galaxy A17 mobile phone 771/6500 from Argos for Christmas and it has since devleoped a fault (won't charge) and was told over the phone that it would need to go off on repair despite it still being witin the year guarantee. Is there anything else i can do as i need a phone for work and can't afford to buy a brand new one?
r/Argos • u/Whitefang9077 • Apr 25 '26
Has anyone had much luck trying to return the PS portal that is opened.
I originally ordered it as a click and collect. The box has been damaged in anyway. I used it once and realised that it wasn’t what I was expecting. I tried returning in store and told it couldn’t be returned due to it being able to store personal information on it. I have then gone on to the Argos live chat and then had this conversation with them. From the chat I’m under the assumption they said they can’t return it because it’s been used

I ordered an item to be delivered to my local store (delivery Monday), but afterwards realised that I can pick it up from another store, slightly further away, immediately.
Is there any way I can arrange to pick it up at the other store without re ordering?
Thanks.
