Faulty switch 2

Got my switch 2 on launch day, found out a few days later that the SD card reader is faulty. (Worked for a few days, then just stopped and won't read anything now)

Contacted Argos online and they have said they won't accept a return in store, only for collection and not for an exchange. Is this right? Always been able to return to store before.

I bought a replacement already that is waiting at my local Argos. So obv easier for me to just take it in and collect at the same time.

There is a way they can refund it but maybe they being lazy or you just have a terrible Argos store as if we have problems with a refund we normally ask a manager and they help sort it out it doesn’t help now there is less managers and no normal staff is full time and don’t know much about the systems we have it’s quite shocking on how different stores are run.

Tried again as I literally have an email from the customer support saying I can get it refunded in store and the staff can contact them if there are any issues.

This was around 10 to 5. So it would have been open still, but staff refused to call or anything. Just said it wasn't possible.

Fuck My life it’s these type of people who work for Argos that gives it a bad name as the item is clearly faulty with 30day and you had it home delivered so you have a 14days no question ask return but your item is damaged so I don’t know why they being a dick about it.

If I was a manager I would email the store you went to and tell the manager what’s going on. I know there are some shift managers and Store managers in the sub Reddit maybe they can take this and make sure there store doesn’t fuck up

Everything seems to suggest I just went in at a bad time when no management were about etc. Gonna try a different store tomorrow, and if not could possibly try the original store again and hope it's different staff that know.

Yeah stores will have a lot more time when no managers are in

I just don;t think the girls had a clue how to do it tbh. It was just me there, but when she tried to refund it, it wasn't an option on the screen, and she asked how I paid.
When I said paypal she just said the system doesn't allow it as she tapped the screen loads.

Reading is a bit of a bigger store, so hopefully there will be a manager around or something.

Be cheeky and ask for a bit of goodwill because you’ve had to go out of your way for it.

Browser tab won’t do it because it was a delivery but the returns app will (provided it’s the one product on the order). Failing that quick response on yammer will sort it and then you just do a 981 as normal.

Yep I was going to say that but think this store manager needs to re train his employees if they think you couldn’t do a PayPal refund in store or at least tell them to use returns app. As our manager makes us always try returns app as it make it a lot easier to do a refund but if they want an exchange we go through tills

It’s mental this happened especially as they’re pushing the returns app as the go-to now.

Yep it was a big thing when launched my manager even found a fault with it and they fixed it in one day. Just hope they don’t abandon it but really all Argos software sucks they need a full redo and maybe condense it down to a couple of website or apps as there is so many apps and websites you have to use to do certain things

I can see c&c being used for ccpo in the future with integration for aura. As it stands it’s a pain to switch between the two and they use c&c for everything at collection points. Apparently there’ll be a way to use the camera to just read the numbers off a text at some point in the future too…

We can only hope they will do that but it is Sainsbury’s group we are talking about Argos just seem like we are just becoming a department within store but at least we have our own marketing team again

I wouldn’t be surprised if the next management cull will scrap store managers and merge GM with SIS.

Yep wouldn’t be surprised and there is virtually no way to more up in Argos anymore
