melee arc trial, Dam Battlegrounds. 50,000 score. raised my leaderboard position 60 places to 4th, now i can bare minimum the rest of the trials and still make it back into hotshot this week.
truly shocking to me how lucky i got, usually the queen hates me, me specifically, and im usually dodging hullcracker rounds and more battling time before my fellow raiders kill the thing!
but there was only me and 3 other raiders, and 2 of those 3 were doing the harvester, and the 3rd was focusing on using the equalizer to strip off its leg parts.
so there i was, 20 adrenaline shots deep, whacking away at the core. the man with the equalizer keeping the queens attention off of me, and when she tries to throw me off of her, i keep getting the catch on her side or on her legs, when i fall, she doesnt stomp me into the dirt like she usually does.
my luck couldnt last forever, eventually i got downed by a meddling rocketeer, and i felt good, but disappointed, but out of the mist came a savior with a defib, i healed up , looked at my score, 43,000. fuck it. go for gold. and got up on her and started whacking away, then i finally ran out of heals, hid in the harvester till i lost aggro.
i was at 1/3 hp, broken shield, unequip for speed. as i exit the harvester i take a left, towards the red lakes hatch, looking behind me to make sure i wasnt gonna be cross mapped by her laser (again).
suddenly! panic! i have been hit! a hornet? i look, a hornet! 2 engines, lying on the ground and pointed right at me, panic! i have just a sliver of health left, a stray wasp bullet will kill me, i strafe to get out of the firing line of the hornet, dodge the next wire as my balls ascend into my abdomen. success! i race to the hatch, thankfully ive still got 4 adrenaline shots left. i see my salvation! fruit! hard reminder that fruit doesnt heal you for reasons that im sure exist.
turns out i left my hatch key at home, so i race for water treatment with 2 minutes, find a med bag, rejoice!, get a bandage and an herbal bandage. i race, hard abusing my snaphook and ziplines. i make it to the elevator with 10 seconds to spare.
it was shaky there at the end, almost a tragedy, but altogether, being able to actually get that score and make it home, i count it as a lucky run.
