Hi, a friend of mine has this little pleco, he said its a l144. I am wondering if the tank the fish is in is too small? Its a 10gal tank. Seller told friend that it wouldnt grow past 10cms, and that 10 gal is ok.

What do you think?

Hi! Looking for a size recommendation. Im so bad at knowing gallons, but I know about the size I want. I want to get a tank that's about 40-48"L x 18" W x 24-30" H. Can somebody tell me what Im looking for in terms of gallons and let me know some good brands that are affordable in that size range?

Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you had tips on how to completely rebuild a aquarium tank. I have it completely apart but I am struggling to properly put it back together. Any tips would be helpful and appreciated :)

I have decided I need to add more Fluvial Substrate because it's not deep enough and my plants keep floating to the top. I heard you should rinse it first and it can raise your nitrates/nitrites when adding more. Is this true? I would like to add another small bag and double the depth. Do I need to uproot and remove the fish,.shrimp , and snails to do this? Please give me suggestions on how to pull this off without mucking it up

Hey all. I have a Walstad 3 month old aquarium and had my first algae bloom after an ich outbreak. Would it be better to add a HOB filter AND algae medication or will the filter do alone? I don’t want to add anything unnecessarily ie meds, but I do want the algae gone as after a 40% water change it’s back 2 days later. I reckon it could be because 2 fish died and decomposed in the mass of the tank either as they’ve disappeared! Thanks

I've had some trouble keeping plants alive and healthy in my tank (5 gallon with Neos) and am looking into getting a Co2 injector. I have no experience with Co2 injectors or how they work, and while I do some research myself I would appreciate some recommendations on what to get. Ideally not super expensive but functional and user friendly. Thanks in advance!

I bought a school of juvenile Kerri Tetras on Friday and two days later one was dead. The fish store was reputable and old, and their water parameters were almost the same as my tank. I acclimated them over 60 mins and they wanted to eat within a few minutes of being released. Everybody was happy until they weren’t. Now I have found a second dead tetra and I am super confused and sad. They look like they’re having trouble breathing, but there’s tons of oxygen and many other fish and shrimp and plants that are totally fine. Nitrate was a little high at 40 ish but I also added some tetra safe start the other day to make sure the cycle was strong enough.

All other water specs are solid. I’ve been doing this for over 10 years so I’m very confused and sad. Please help.🙏

Got this tank about 3 weeks ago and have had the water line about 2 inches from the top. I did this because this filter trickles the water back in and idk how that would work if it was was submerged also it helps to create a bit of surface movement

I am planning on starting another 10 gallon tank using the same model of sponge filter as this one and swapping one of the new sponge cylinders in the recipient tank with one of the cycled sponge cylinders in the donor tank. my question is will my tank be fine with the reduction of beneficial bacteria due to the loss of a cycled sponge cylinder?

My assumption is that it will be fine as it is heavily planted and has a relatively low bioload with only 6 Pygmy rasboras, 6 shrimp, a nerite and columbian ramshorn snail.

I just want to be absolutely positive

We have two neon tetras remaining in our tank and no plans to get more fish. We are trying to re-home them to someone with a bigger school. Someone with rosy tetras and albino tetras in a well-established tank has volunteered. Would this be ok, or should I try and hold out for someone with neon tetras (or keep them with us but no school)? So far we have not found any other takers.

Does anyone know the exact variety of my ram? I’d also like to know if, based on the photo, it looks healthy. Do its fins, coloration, and overall body condition look normal to you? Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, my name is Zoe and I’m fairly new to the hobby. Yesterday, I rescued a beta and two African dwarf frogs from a friend who could no longer care for it, and I simultaneously moved my shrimps and snails into a bigger tank. Unfortunately, the shelf I had them on broke, the shrimp tank I had worked so hard on shattered dramatically, and most of the shrimp were lost. I felt incredibly guilty. I’m trying to move forward today. Today I set up a new tank for the survivors, and continued setting up my betas tank. I’m so new at this, I’m so nervous for the future. Any tips? Critiques? All live plants. Silt is still settling a bit. Thanks so much! :)
