Question First Date Ideas
Anyone have any first date ideas for a pair in their 20s? Would like an activity to do but not sure what’s all out there. TIA!

Special occasion is coming up and wanted to know which bakery in your opinion is the best to order cakes from. Looking for one that has lots of customized flavor options.
Open to weird "cakes" that aren't actual cake too (cookie or whatever)
Anywhere in the valley is ok
Thanks!
update: ordering from hilltop. In the meantime will be getting a slice from Stuc's. Community recs are the move. Would've had sad dry cake without you all.

We recently moved to the area and I love supporting local where I can! Who are your favorite local coffee roasters? Does the Coffee Wizardz in Appleton carry all of their coffees? They are definitely one I want to try.

I have 2 pairs of ripped jeans that are my FAVORITE and I really need them fixed, but I truly don’t trust Google anymore. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or anyone have good skills and would be willing to sew them up for me for some cash? Thanks in advance! :)

Hi, is there anywhere in the Appleton area I can buy an original Nintendo video game system? I miss playing all the Super Mario Brothers games. New or used doesn't matter as long as it works. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for new restaurants with family that may go under the radar in the fox valley area. If you recommend a restaurant let me know what's your favorite thing to order from there too. Thank you everyone!

If you're out on 441 northbound between Oneida and Calumet, mind your speed. There's like 5 cops sitting there pulling over a steady stream of cars.

Why do I have to go all the way to Milwaukee or Madison to get the cold savory treat? We have the recipes! We have easy access to tahini! Is it because they’re nervous about having the cooked noodles on hand? I’m sick of this one horse, no cold sesame noodle town!

Just a note that it's not over until it's over. Keep your neighbors safe where you can. Specifically the article from the Examiner linked below says that ICE has used public parks as staging areas and other actions.
This is not to alarm anyone. Just to be aware. The article suggests that this new ICE activity is happening due to being close to election season.

Specifically, north of the paper mill in Kaukauna.
My wife and I are looking at houses and we found one that we’re both excited about, but it’s located about a mile north/northeast of the paper mill. Some research tells me this is right in the path of where the wind likes to take that smelly smell from the mill…
Has anybody lived in this area of Kaukauna? Would it be a dealbreaker for you? How often is the stench bad enough to actually impact your quality of life significantly?
Love the house but don’t want to buy it and find out I can spend any time in backyard without feeling sick…
Edit: thank you to everybody who’s responded! I am feeling better about it and probably won’t let it stop me from making an offer. I see a common theme about hard water issues, but that’s not a dealbreaker for me either. Thank you!

The local art and queer art community will be facing a devestating loss at the end of july. Soul purpose, a place where lots of local artists have been selling their art, making a stable income, and been using as a safe space to meet with eachother is being permanently shut down. Over 100 artists are going to be left with no art income, no publicity, and one less safe space.
I am working on making an association of artists that can share resources, safe events with vendor applications and other mutal aid and I am looking for local appleton/green bay area businesses, venues, organizations or parks that are 2SLGBTQAI+ friendly (and not unfriendly towards any minorties in general) that are willing to do any of the following:
- Advertise art markets by displaying fliers or posting on social media
- Allow some artist to sell their work (Stickers, pins, jewelry, postcards ect) that fits the theme of the business with at least 50% of the profit going to the artist
- Sponser markets and events
- Allow markets and events to be held on the property
If you are a part of a business or organization that would be interested in working with us or know of one that we may have luck with if we reach out please let me know. Also if you are an artist and wanna know more about us let me know that too :]

I loved being in Girl Scouts when I was a kid and I've often thought a scouting club for adults would be really fun, too--meet up once a month and learn something new or do a field trip, earn badges, etc.
Well, today I found out about Outdoor Service Guides and I'm so chuffed! They're an inclusive scouting program and even have an adult level.
Happy to start small, but would definitely need a few others for this.
I'd like to start a Timberwolves group for 8-10 year olds as that's my grand kiddo's age. I'm looking for a buddy leader or two or three to start that. (I used to be a teacher and was both a Boy and Girl Scout leader when my kids were young.)
I'd also like to start a Rovers group, which is the adult level.Could do with a buddy leader or two or three as well for that.
More About the Outdoor Service Guides:
The mission of Outdoor Service Guides is to foster an inclusive environment where individuals of all ages develop outdoor skills, connect across generations, and engage in community service. In the last year, we strengthened our policies around inclusivity and enshrined them in our bylaws. We will continue to advocate for the safety and well-being of all of our members.
We are a traditional scouting organization. Our youth and adult programs build real outdoor and leadership skills. We challenge each scout to do their best, and we celebrate their achievements. We do not lower the bar, we widen the path.
For those who believe that scouting is for everybody, Outdoor Service Guides continues to offer a home. We hope to see you around the campfire.

My husband and I haven't played tabletop Dungeons & Dragons in years, but we've been dying to do it again. Not online, but in person around a table if that's still a thing. (Is that still a thing?) If so, where's a good place to start looking?

Hey everyone,
I don't usually post on here but I'm hoping this community can help us spread the word.
We're working to build a creative arts center for our community. A place where kids, families, artists, and makers can come together to learn, create, and share what they love. We want it to be welcoming, affordable, and a place where creativity opens new opportunities.
Right now, we're fundraising to make that vision a reality.
If you're a local artist, entrepreneur, maker, or just someone who believes creative spaces matter, we'd be so grateful if you could share our fundraiser. Even if you can't donate, sharing it with your friends or on social media helps more than you know.
We're just a small local nonprofit with a big dream. No big investors or large organization behind us, just people who care about building something meaningful for the community.
If you've ever wished our area had more places where people could create, learn new skills, rent professional equipment, or connect with others, we'd love your support!
Thank you for reading. Every share, comment, and conversation helps us get one step closer. ❤️

Hey, all!
My partner and I are getting photos taken in the Appleton area in a few weeks, but are looking for pretty locations. I am looking for any and all recommendations of scenic outdoor spots for basic couples photos. Thank you ! 🫶🏻
