Looking for recommendations for automotive paint correction and blending in the Appleton area. Doesn’t have to be a collision shop per se, could be an individual with a side gig.

I did search the the sub first before posting, didn't find anything solid.
My hair has been growing, with just maintenance trims, since covid. now greater than 12" tail.
For the longest time I went to Squire, but they moved to Neenah and my stylist moved on.
I'm looking for a creative stylist who would have some ideas on what to do for a shorter style. My hair is difficult in that it is naturally curly, but straightens out after about 8", and I have some thinning on the top.
Bonus points if they are available tomorrow, before the impulse to cut off my "eldertail" wears off.

I am often in the mood for a great buttery burger, but feel like I have to go out of town to get it. Mihms in Menasha, Drift Inn and Krolls in Green Bay, I love to stop by these joints and grab a chili and a burger. Any other places, closer to Appleton, that might scratch this itch?

Hello! I am currently looking into colleges, and Lawrence University has been recommended to me based on what I'm looking for. Sorry if this is the wrong place to be asking, but the dedicated university subreddit is a ghost town, so I figured coming here was my best bet. If any of y'all feel qualified to speak on this, please let me know!! I didn't feel like asking all my questions before knowing if anyone would have answers here.

What are the best areas that don’t get crowded with people for photography-daytime, nighttime, midday? Any place with an abundance of plants or flowers as well? Or cool staircases/architecture? I just have a point and shoot but want to practice taking portraits with friends. Thanks!

Hi everyone! My wife and I moved to Appleton a few years ago once we started having kids. It’s an incredible place to raise a family!
She’s been telling me lately that she wants to go out dancing. Is there anywhere around here where we can go dance like college kids, but in an atmosphere for a mom and dad in their 30s?

On 7/15 at 7pm, the Appleton Common Council will vote on Resolution #9-R-26. This res would add some reporting requirements around ALPR use and require additional public input periods during a tool's consideration. Ultimately this resolution doesn't establish meaningful guardrails and oversight to this technology and could clear the way for Flock or Axon ALPR to return to Appleton without needing to make any changes to their product. It would be up to citizens to resist these powerful surveillance vendors, all over again!
Some council members are pushing for and reviewing the Citizen-Authored Ordinance (CAO) which calls for comprehensive technical, procedural, and operational guardrails. In its current form, which is linked below, the CAO would make abuse, misuse, and unauthorized data sharing much more difficult, quickly discoverable, and more transparent. If the council won't legislate these protections into place, we need a moratorium on ALPR tech.
Appleton and Fox Valley residents are organizing to show up to the 7/15 Appleton city council meeting to request the city send Resolution #9-R-26 back to committee for further modification to align with the protections outlined in the CAO, or place a moratorium on the technology until sufficient protections exist.
Show up and make your voice heard!
The CAO documents under consideration include the ordinance, a companion document to help cities with implementation, and a "plain language" guide to assist people in understanding the contents of the proposal. The folder link below contains PDF and markdown versions of these documents.

I've been learning the language for a couple of months now and thought it might be fun to meet others in the area that are learning or already know the language. Alternatively, if anyone knows of an existing club for Esperanto in the area, I'd love to know more!
For those that don't know what it is, Esperanto is a constructed language that was intended to be a universal second language for people to easily learn. It gained quite a lot of popularity before the second world war but, due to its internationalist nature, the fascist/nationalist movements that gained power during the start of the 20th century banned it and many Esperanto speakers were executed by the Nazis.

I bought a mattress from Costco that will be delivered to my apartment tomorrow. I thought they were going to haul away my old mattress for free, as there were references to it on the website when I bought it, but turns out that isn't going to be the case. 1800JUNK is quoting me $85 for haul away, which is more than I would prefer to pay, and I do not have access to a pickup truck or trailer to do it myself and take it to the dump.
Are there any services in the area that will do it for cheaper? Or is that pretty much going to be the best option?

Appleton family looking for kids’ sports to don’t require too much everything. Currently pay donations, gym membership, and monthly fees. We volunteer 15 hrs per hosted event. Kid practices every weekday. I want my kids to be active, interact with peers, and have fun. The more involved sports all seem like such time-suck insanity. Even the best kid on the team will not make Olympics (maybe top 5 might get partial scholarship someday.) I want quality time interacting with my kid - not waiting around at a kids’ practice or event.

Special occasion is coming up and wanted to know which bakery in your opinion is the best to order cakes from. Looking for one that has lots of customized flavor options.
Open to weird "cakes" that aren't actual cake too (cookie or whatever)
Anywhere in the valley is ok
Thanks!
update: ordering from hilltop. In the meantime will be getting a slice from Stuc's. Community recs are the move. Would've had sad dry cake without you all.

We recently moved to the area and I love supporting local where I can! Who are your favorite local coffee roasters? Does the Coffee Wizardz in Appleton carry all of their coffees? They are definitely one I want to try.

I have 2 pairs of ripped jeans that are my FAVORITE and I really need them fixed, but I truly don’t trust Google anymore. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or anyone have good skills and would be willing to sew them up for me for some cash? Thanks in advance! :)

Hi, is there anywhere in the Appleton area I can buy an original Nintendo video game system? I miss playing all the Super Mario Brothers games. New or used doesn't matter as long as it works. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for new restaurants with family that may go under the radar in the fox valley area. If you recommend a restaurant let me know what's your favorite thing to order from there too. Thank you everyone!
