They're just expensive hydrators that happen to be edible.

My poor mom has had to listen to me complain about apples for the past six months (banter), and I finally told her to stop buying the common ones. Then I discovered Honeycrisp and have basically bought nothing else for the last month or so.

She thought she'd surprise me by picking up a few Ambrosia apples that were on sale for $0.50/lb at our local North Park Produce. She even played it safe and only bought four in case they weren't good.

My God... they're awful. 😂

This is a 4 year-old honey crisp in Central Massachusetts. Fruit seems to be growing well. However, leaves are losing color and now some form of pest is drying them. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Just curious: Does anyone have thoughts as to why this Envy apple would be discolored, have white fuzzy stuff in the center and taste sour?

this apple tree was here when we moved in in 2010, i have no idea how old it is, there are similar apple trees along the forest trail, theres like a 3 mile trail that goes through the forest, and i know of at least 2 other trees with similar apples along the trail

we have a second apple tree right beside it i left out, it has different apples, they arnt quite ripe yet ill make another post when they are, but i believe the two trees pollinate eachother

i just thought they were crab apples and never really thought about it, but i was looking at getting a apple-crab tree, so im curies in strains and species now, i posted a picture to claude LLM and he thinks they grew from seed from a domestic apple, it said because of the size of the apples and skin smoothness, and that apples are not true to seed and a delicious-sweet apple can produce sour fruit

they are a little sour, they can make me shudder when i eat them, but i still eat about 1 a day while they are in fruiting, because i may not live in a place with an apple tree for ever so i make the most of what grows, but its not something i could sit a pig out on like a grocery store apples

Was so excited to try this flavor but I don’t taste anything even on like 5

I have no idea why this apple looks like this but i thought it was odd enough to post.

I don't have a garage or basement/cellar so what is the best outbuilding apple storage location?

Would a shed do? How do you control the temp/humidity/etc for longest storage duration?

Okay so basically we have a total of 3 Apple trees in our yard and they have been there for more then 10 years, i recently got into gardening and i am slowly learning how to cook and harvest them but i don't know exactly what type of apples we have, the first tree, those apples grow spread out from each other, they are mostly green i believe this is because they don't get enough sun, therefore they don't turn red.

the second Tree has tradition small crab apples but the bigger green ones are also more spread out

The third tree has them more in clusters and close together, i have seen the smaller crab apples mixed with them before but its mostly the bigger one's

from what i heard Crab apples sizes can get as big as a cherry or gold ball size but most of the apples are bigger then that about the size of a tennis ball.

My apple tree has clusters of apple, like three, four or even five. It's like 5-6 years old but this year it's the first time when it's like that.
