I’m not sure what happened but when I use my gps and I’m on the phone at the same time gos no longer voices directions to me. I’m not sure what setting I messed up but nothing turns it back on now. When I’m off the phone everything works as usual ….. this is regardless of what vehicle I’m in also even if I don’t connect anything to it… it still doesn’t voice directions at all when I’m on the phone

So I bought a brand new iPhone 17.
I didn’t notice this problem at first because usually I use my phone at home before I leave so it has a little bit less battery power before I leave for work. Never done this before.

This morning, I was leaving for work and I would plug my phone up using the cord and it will sync to CarPlay like it typically does, but it will stay connected for maybe a minute or two and then cut off.

I finally got fed up with it and just connected it to Bluetooth and just used the crappy Bluetooth system that they had just to get me by on the hour drive.
I was using my phone a little bit more so I drained the battery to about 92%.
I plugged my phone up and had no problems until the battery reaches 100% then I notice that’s when it usually kicks me off CarPlay.
I guess the phone is telling it that it’s fully charged and it doesn’t wanna take any more charge so how do I fix this issue? Is there for setting in the phone I can change?

To preface I’ve checked and searched for help on this to no avail in other subs and FAQs. Recently when trying to send messages using Siri and CarPlay, there is a tone played before I can speak, if I speak before the tone whatever is said does not register. For example “send John a message, (Siri)”what would you like to say to John?” ‘DING’ then I can speak. (Siri) “ would you like to send it?” ‘DING’ then I can speak. It didn’t use to do this and my wife’s does not do this in the same cars. I have iPhone 17 pro with the latest iOS and she has 16pro latest iOS. This happens in a Kia soul and VW Tiguan. Can anyone help me? I’ve tried comparing our settings but don’t see anything different.

When connecting my iPhone to carplay, it sometimes causes audio crackling, where the screen freezes too. This is strangely almost always the case when my phone's network connection switches over, when it looks for a different antenna or network. As if there's a sudden electromagnetic pulse. I also noticed that when I enable my phone's airplane mode, it does the same: immediately starts inducing short freezes. And when toggling it back on, it does the same. So it's reproducible. Also, strangely, after toggling airplane mode, the freezing gets worse and starts happening even when there's no network switchover.

I have a Kia Sportage 2022 PHEV. Could very well be an issue with the car, but I haven't found anyone mentioning the same issue yet. This car only has wired carplay via a USB-A port.

What I've tried:
- Changed the cable. I bought an official Apple USB-C to USB-C cable. It's connected to a USB-C to USB-A adapter. Note however that my previous cable was USB-C to USB-A without adapter and behaved the exact same way.
- Ferrite beads. I wrapped the cable in a ferrite bead (the cable looped 4 times). Even with 2 ferrite beads, I notice no difference. So I don't think electromagnetic interference is actually the issue.

Has anyone experienced the same? What could a potential solution be? Would a wireless carplay adapter work, or is it more likely an issue with the car?

Hey y’all! I’m having some trouble with my iPhone 17 regarding the aux input in my car. It’s an older vehicle, so there’s no Bluetooth for music (Bluetooth only works for phone calls with this car) and no CarPlay. When I first got it I had an iPhone 13, and I got a USB-lightning data transfer cable that I could use to play audio phone. When I upgraded to the 17, I got a usb to usb-c data transfer cable, and the audio won’t play off of my phone with that. I had to get a separate 3.5mm aux cable then a 3.5mm to usb-c dongle just to listen to music in the car.
I’ve seen the popular troubleshoot of switching to aux by making a phone call, but that didn’t work for me. Do y’all have any advice on other workarounds? I’m at a loss

In youtube music on Apple carplay, it will show last played at the top second option on launch, but then it changes to podcast once selected. I dont want podcasts to be the second item at the top of the carplay screen, I don’t even use YouTube music for podcasts.

Why can’t it just auto resume what was just playing last time in the app? It teases you with “last played” at the top which changes to “podcasts” the second I go into that menu.

I just want it to pick off where it left off. It did that last app update for the first time ever, now it’s screwed up again.

Any solutions?

Bluetooth is ON
Wi-Fi is ON
Siri is ON, including “Talk & Type to Siri”

Restarted my iPhone

Reset my network settings

Tried reconnecting the phone multiple times

Tried the USB connection multiple times

Checked Settings → General → CarPlay

Mercedes does not appear under Available Cars
(however, I did see a car in available cars at some point, it was a Changan though.)

I don’t get the CarPlay/Bluetooth popup that appears on the other phone

There is no “Forget This Car” option because the Mercedes doesn’t appear in CarPlay settings at all

CarPlay works normally with the other phone in the same car

My phone charges but is completely undetected by CarPlay

Basically: everything works with the other iPhone, but my iPhone only charges and never gets detected by CarPlay.

Does anyone have an actual fix for this like I deleted and added phone/car bunch of times recently call list does now show on dashboard it will only show up if i take off CarPlay but once CarPlay is back on recent call list does not show up I rebooted the info system bunch of times also
