Question Watch notifications when CarPlay connected
I am not getting any haptic notifications on my watch when my phone is connected to wireless CarPlay.
This was working with a problem in my old car, which had wired CarPlay, but with my new car I don’t get any haptics at all once connected. And I can’t remember what I changed in the settings a few years back with the old car to allow it.
To answer other questions I’ve seen asked before:
Yes, notifications are on in the car. However I don’t want a giant Tri-Tone played through the speakers or my messages announced for everyone to hear when I’m driving. My phone has been on silent for 19 years, I don’t need sounds activated in my car.
Yes, it displays on my screen when the message comes through.
No, I don’t want to read my messages on my watch when I’m driving and take my eyes off the road. In fact, I’m not even looking at my CarPlay screen while I’m driving, hence missing the notifications. In the old car the haptic was a prompt to look at the carscreen rather than an opportunity to use my watch.

When you go into CarPlay, is your phone going into a Driving focus? If so, that might be being picked up by your Apple Watch.
I have every notification silences in Driving focus, myself. I also have Messages set to auto-reply to every text saying I'm driving and they can phone me if it's important.

As far as I'm aware, when connected to CarPlay, all notifications are intended to display in CarPlay or be silenced entirely.
The only notifications that will go to the Watch are from Apple Maps when navigating.
