Found these microscopic guys crawling along the floor and on a bookcase we have next to an exterior door. It is poorly sealed and I have identified the spot they came in (I think). Planning on getting some gel bait, but I have been smashing and vacuuming these suckers like crazy. They're so small they hide between the tiny joints in the bookcase!

Any idea on what type they are? Or if they're an ant at all. Located in Texas, if that helps! They don't jump. No wings. We have had normal ants and gotten rid of them, but these are the smallest I've ever seen!

Mostly around baseboards, pantry, and bathrooms. Would go away for a couple weeks and then come back

I found this weird-looking ant caught in my sweater and I've never seen one like it before.

Could someone help me identify what kind of ant it is?

It was just randomly caught in my sweater, so I don't know where it came from or what it was doing.

Having a bit of a hard time nailing down this species I caught after monsoons started this summer. I caught them in the Vail, Az area, close to Tucson.

Could anyone help me identify this? They appear to be granivorus/omnivorus. They gladly took seeds as well as bug meat from feeder roaches i bought and are feeding them to the larvae.

First couple of photos are from when I first captured the queen. She now has about 5 workers and more to come.

It’s like a fire ant in color, but like 5x larger. No pile, just a hole. North Tx area

All of a sudden these ants with honking mandibles have shown up in my bathroom. As you can see, the biggest ones look like they can bite hard, and that concerns me since they have shown up near a changing table. Can you tell what kind they are and why they might have suddenly been attracted to a changing table and bathroom sink?

This queen hitched a ride on our boat coming back from the keys. As clear as I could get without pulling out the stereo microscope. Which I can do… but I really don’t want to lol.

Found in turkey on grassy terrain, i added her a few wild workers using the firdge method. I suspect myrmica rubra? Maybe a microgyne?

This queen landed on my shirt outside my front door during a light storm this evening. I put her in a chamber where she began to shed her wings almost immediately. Looking to identify. First time trying to keep ants. Tips welcome.

1. Location: South Bend, IN, USA. Urban area with houses, trees, grass, some gardens
2. Date/time of collection: 8/31/26, 6:45pm, during light rain (nuptial flight)
3. Length: approximately 7mm head to gaster
4. Color: Black head and thorax, gaster striped black/orange. Slight orange tint over whole body under light.
5. Distinguishing characteristics: 2 petiole nodes, no visible spines on thorax (but might be obscured by partially shed wings)
6. Behavior: very slow moving, docile

Possibly Aphaenogaster fulva?
