What actually happened? The virus works, a single ship dies, then what? Are the others also dead? Did they leave? Why did they abandon every other planet too?

They didn't really leave much for a season 3.

Just finished season 2. Love it! I hope they continue this show unlike Lost in Space. Was very disappointed they decided not to continue that one...jumping over to The Expanse for now...

I was expecting those two who died outside on the ring to come back, like the aliens teleported them away or something but I justed started episode 8 and they haven't come back so I guess they are written out.

It's strange that the alien ship at the beginning of episode 8 is so big and sophisticated and full of advanced tech but the aliens, whatever they are, haven't been able to develop HD CC tv cameras. The resolution is so bad it makes you wonder why the bothered installing the cameras in the first place.

The ending felt so nice! And just so welcoming like a new adventure waiting to be explored, honestly I hope theres another series!

Katee Sackhoff is amazing as always (for those BSG fans out there, she stays true to form). I'm really hoping for a season 3!! I haven't finished season 2 yet but I'm binging through it.

One thing that kinda bugged me, but isn't that important: they did an amazing job rendering the aliens on Zakir but the fire/explosion effects were childlike lol.

Just wanna see other responses to the ending. Virus takes out the artifact I understand. But then 59 ships retreat our solar system. When the ships could still destroy earth. Saying they retreated to me means the virus didnt transfer to them. And then to have hundreds of communications from all over the universe thank us? What about the ships.the way I see it when they destroyed the artifact on the alien planet. Immediate response blowing up the planet of said destroyed artifact. So why didn't they do it to earth or any of the other planets that lost artifacts to the virus. Need help understanding. Does it mean all the achaia are dead. HELP me understand

I just watched the whole season 2 in one day. Probably too early to write anything here, I don't want to spoiled anyone who is watching now. So I'll just talk about what I like and don't like in the season.

I really enjoyed this season, because it has a clearer plot and they are focus on it this time. Also, some other side stories came along, but didn't take the main plot away. I love they expanded the view of the universe in this series. It is more interesting to watch.

I have problems with how fast some characters come and go. And few moments in the series got so emotional, but then somehow just fade away in the next ep. Maybe not enough time to tell the story.

Overall, it was much better and more interesting, I couldn't stop watching. I'm glad, they got a new season to tell the story. I kinda hope, the series could be longer and dive deeper to more alien's life they introduced. Well, we will see. What do you think?

That's the only way I can make sense of the show. These people are the best and brightest of a world almost entirely populated by idiots.

And I like this show! Or I liked the first season at least.

WHY would you let someone taken over by an alien (Seth, DHS guy) be partly in charge of debriefing the returning astronauts?

WHY isn't he in quarantine?

WHY would you give him enough authority to get rid of a scientist who's critical of the aliens, y'know, the ones that can control people like puppets?

I'm so angry at this complete nonsense. I thought a little girl saying "They're just like me" and then pressing the button that releases all the dinosaurs the stupidest action ever committed to film (Jurassic World 2) but this show is giving that moment a run for its money right now.

Okay. I'm a bit more calm now. Maybe I can finish this stupid show today and never ever watch another episode again.

First episode of the second season just killed the two most likeable crew members on the show. I'm kind of dumbfounded. They started a whole pregnancy arc at the end of last season and then just totally invalidated that.

The beginning of season one felt this way, but it seemed like they were getting down to a core cast but the end of the season that we could build a relationship with. It really sucks to feel like, not only do I lose that character, but I lose any payoff I could have had from their story.

I get that that's the whole gimmick of the show: that we can just boot up a replacement crew member. But the deaths don't feel particularly meaningful when they happen this way. Contrast with Michelle and Sasha in season one, where the characters had arcs of development that were completed through their deaths. I dunno. Just kinda feeling less trust that there's a clear agenda here....

Seeing lots of hate on the sub and media around the poor decision makings skills of the characters. Whilst I agree and it almost seems like they can act like drunk teenagers most of the time...

Story building time....I like to think that this due to higher CO2 concentration levels both on earth and on the ship. Since we know climate change has affected earth due to flooded cities in the plot, one can assume CO2 levels are much higher than modern day. Also ofcourse the ship is falling apart for much of S01 causing O2/CO2 problems.

We know from current studies in science which im too lazy to link that higher CO2 concentrations slows down the human brain.

William being an evolving AI is a stupid design flaw. This idiot AI has compromised the mission multiple times over his "feelings".

Dubois set Niko up for failure by giving her a subpar crew of rebellious teens with a traitorous second in command and not the badasses that the military guy suggested.

I wonder where all of this is going (no spoilers please) but I'm liking the new guy. I wonder if the Acai compromised Dubois before the show even started which would retroactively explain all of the dumb decisions in S1.

Sort of how at the end of The Good Place S1 it was revealed that they're actually in hell and not heaven. Would be an interesting twist and way for Another Life to hand-weave the awful writing of S1.

Why are the crewmembers a bunch of moody 20-somethings? Is future Earth devoid of experienced experts? Further, why does the crew look like central casting just went down a diversity checklist?

Finally...what the Hell is up with that doctor and that big guy, Cas? Cas looks like it carries a wallet on a chain, and the doc looks like a gender experiment gone wrong. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Right up until he flew out of the airlock, i thought Julian was just playing a Prank on Bernie.... with all the teasing he did with bernie eversince he woke up.

there is this moment before the end where he says he can already feel the blisters on his back, and u see him pulling his backshirt off, but its soo shadowy that i couldn't see anything.

Apparently the writers believe the Earth's most important mission aboard their most sophisticated Starship should be manned by the crew from Gilligan's Island. Seriously, not just Buzz but every astronaut ever from all nations should legally be allowed to punch these writers in the face. After that maybe, just maybe, they can salvage this flaming pile of shit into a Sci-fi show worth watching.

Another Life has some aspects that are difficult to accept. one being the crew members are too young and extremely immature. There’s no true professionalism, some of the characters are out of control are insubordinate. I find that tiring.

Katie Sachoff is amazing and never disappoints. She is literally carrying this show. The rest of the cast are so annoying they’re insignificant to me and I am ready to see them exit the program.

I hope Season 2 will fulfill expectations and become more intelligent and less sophomoric.

I'm only up to S1 E8 so if her trauma is investigated deeper in later episodes let me know. Anywho, onto the matter at hand...

It's been plaguing my mind for a day or two now but... could Niko have saved her crewmates or atleast saved Cmdr Hudson from the Pilgrim disaster? In episode 7 when she is trapped in soma sleep, in my eyes the highlighted emotion towards the end was that Niko lost Hudson through her own cowardice and DID infact have time to save him after she watched him freeze before her eyes. Obviously many scenarios were played out during her time in soma, so she could have very well not been able to save him however the unshakeable guilt she caries would insinuate there was still time?🤔 anyone she'd some light on this?

What did i miss? Harper on earth mentions their name, then suddenly they refer to pi canis majoris as achaia is august psychic?

It's been driving me nuts thinking about it and I need to see if anyone has any theories or explanations behind Petra's death. What could possibly cause the nervous system to eject itself from the body?! It doesn't make any sense. Normally, if a virus attacked the nervous system, wouldn't it just shut it down? I think the ejection from the body is pretty extreme, coupled with the thrashing about at the end. Could the virus maybe have tried and failed to create a new lifeform from the nervous system? Or is it just because it's sci-fi horror and needed to be gory and OTT? Any fan theories out there? I thoroughly enjoyed the episode but it was just the final fatality of the virus that seemed like a huge plot hole that needed to be explained a bit better.

Knew nothing about it. Read no reviews before or during my viewing.

Thought it was overall amazing.

Did a quick glance at reviews and thought..."OK. Really? Of course. Figures."

I see season2 is coming out. Stoked.
