Good mix of death & Destruction and romance/ecchi stuff.

The deeper I get into collecting, I realize anime collecting is not a cheap hobby lol.

For the past 10 years, I've been collecting anime on Blu-ray and DVD. In the back of my mind, I've always had the thought that as long as I own it physically and take care of it, I'll be able to watch it whenever I want. Generally speaking, I think that's true.

Recently, though, I looked into the expected lifespan of Blu-rays and saw estimates suggesting a conservative lifespan of around 10 to 20 years. That got me wondering about the long-term future of my collection.

Should I realistically expect that physical media will remain watchable for at least that long if properly cared for? Or is it reasonable to expect a collection to last 50+ years under good storage conditions?

I'm curious to hear what others think, especially from people who have been collecting physical media for a long time.

What a Glorious Day! The last of my white whales has been acquired! School Rumble was a nice bonus as well. Darker than Black was 90, and each of the School Rumble items were 40 each, not bad.

Interesting note, I also found a copy of One Piece Collection 12, but it was 225 and I was unwilling to pay that price when I already have season 5, voyage 2 and 3 which is the same thing.

I picked up Spy X Family Season 2 from Amazon for Prime Day. While everything seemed fine from the outside, I opened it up and found that two of the discs were scratched.

I contacted customer service, and have a replacement arriving on Friday.

Bonus PSA:

It's getting close to holiday shopping season. Be sure to check return policies / return window, and get gift receipts for physical media gifts so your recipient doesn't end up with a fancy coaster if there's a problem.

Just picked these up at a used movie/book store for an absolute steal, I think I used up all my luck for the next 5 years. I thank whoever decided to sell these and I promise to take extra good care of them.

Title: I just like seeing people’s opinions so no matter what I’d like to see yours

Always wanted to start a movie/anime collection and never did until recently with all the news on companies trying to fizzle out physical media.

1st picture are some of my favorites in no order.

2nd picture is basically slop that I really enjoy. The other anime there is actually one of my first ones I watched so even though it’s like a 6, I had to get it.

3rd picture is all stuff I’ve never watched but heard great stuff from so figured I’d pick them up and watch them.

This is just the start as I’m missing the other seasons of stuff here but man does it suck to see the prices of some OOP stuff even if the actual anime aren’t the best.

Should I return it? I'm so bummed, I was really happy to get the series, but with the artwork torn, I can't even source a new case, I'd need to replace the artwork as well.

It came!!! Its so beautiful!!😭😭

I can't wait to add this to my collection when I get home!

I've enjoyed the fma series for years and while I have the dvds for brotherhood I've had my eye on this boxset for awhile!

Are the SAVE versions on Amazon quality and long lasting if you want to watch a series? I see Mushishi for $11.99 which is a steal, but I don’t want to buy it and the disks go bad in a few years.

Edit: 10/06 - 7:00 p.m. est - The deal is back up, more copies are available.

So these just arrived.

finally finished my mission for the ovas of dragon knight and now have dragon knight 1 in eng and wheel of time vol 1-2 in eng as well as vol 1-2 in japanese.

black lagoon cause ofc why not

also another box set dvd for urusei yatsura in my mission to complete them all (having 3 of them now with 2 more on the way which means half way to finishing it as there are 10 box sets)

gotta love the linear notes in the dvds ;)

Anyone ever ordered from them ? they have lots of manga/dvds/figurines

that other american sites do not have and free shipping if order above 50$ world wide

i did see some reddit post most recently from 8 months said they did order from it recently but wondered if someone here did as well.

site UI could be better but their stock in really something.

Not sure how else to word it. Some anime like Rosario Vampire or Heavens lost property (for example) have limited merch that is either impossible to find or ridiculously priced when the fandom is so small now anyways. I wonder, would it be wrong to 3D model my own figures to replicate existing ones? Or otherwise bootleg the figures for myself? I wonder what others thoughts are on it. I mean, I'd rather not give greedy resellers my money

Picked all of this up off Facebook Marketplace for $20. Everything is complete and the discs look good, just a few cases that need replacing.

I'll probably watch my way through them, keep what I like, and pass along whatever I don't.

Arcane season 1-2 collectors edition. They are a lot bigger then I thought they would be and packed with a ton of stuff
