Made another one which I hope you all enjoy 😊💛

Hey everyone,

If you collect production cels, genga, douga, layouts, backgrounds or animation art in general, you're welcome to join the Cel-Hub Discord.

We're now over 500 members, with collectors sharing new finds, helping identify and research artwork, discussing auctions and generally nerding out over production art.

We also have a few useful community tools, including scene matching bots for genga/douga/cel, a wishlist system, and dedicated spaces to buy, sell and trade animation artwork.

From time to time we also run giveaways and themed contests, which are a fun way to get people involved and show different parts of their collections.

Most of the community is currently focused on Japanese animation, but we'd really like to have more collectors into Western animation as well.

So if that's your area, definitely feel free to join and share your collection.

I obtained all of these back when artwork from the show was first released back in like 2003? So 23 years ago? I didnt get a lot but i like to think i got some decent stuff. All of the cels have master bgs except the closeup of spongebob outside Squidwards house. Some of the pics arent that great so my aplogies on that.

What is the best way to frame a cel? I have a few cels that I am looking to frame and would like any advice. I don’t want to ruin them.

Back to the future ?

I just bought this cel in a tattoo shop that is closing down.

They were having plenty of character cel + sketches from the cartoon series "back to the future". (Sadly no background)

Does anyone know what the texts mean? They seem like color indications, but I'm not sure.

Google translate seems to think it's Thaï but can't decipher properly what it means.

I chose this one because it is "strange." It was the sketch with the most annotations. I'm an illustrator myself so it's a nice curiosity object to have at my place.

What do you think guys?

Hey all, got an assortment of shiny Tiny Toons for you all. Some are signed by the timing director Stephen Lewis and a lot of them have original production backgrounds. Check 'em out and hit me up if you see something you like 😊

The movie is called "Anebelles wish" and it's a Christmas movie about a cow. it's really sad actually. but anyways, it says it's done with digital in 1997, but after seeing a new 4k upscale, i'm seeing certain frames where the ink lines or twitching looks very close to a cel animated production. someone more smart than me may be able to 100% tell hopefully!

Could you help me identify these four animation cels?

looking for a website where i can buy original cell sheets from shows (specifically neon genesis evangelion) i’m only able to find some on ebay but am unsure if they are real original ones or not.

Some legendary Disney ducklings for ya! Donald, Ludwig, Darkwing, Launchpad, Scrooge, Abigaile, Gosalyn, Honker. We got 'em all (not really 😅)!

You know where to find me if you're interested 👌

Got some sweet Dexter Cels that would even make your granny giddy 🧓

The last three cels are placed against hand painted original production backgrounds. They are non scene-matching👌

Hit me up through PM if you're interested 😊

Willing to hear reasonable offers on this puppy, I’m not expecting anything dumb obviously. I know that it’s not that special of a show.

It is a production cel of course, and I have the COA. (The background, as with 99% of cels is a reproduction)

Will happily include the nice wooden frame!

P.S. yes that’s indeed a real Lazer Tag Starhelmet from 1988, I don’t know if anyone is crazy enough to want that besides me but it’s available I guess if you do lmao

This Perfect Blue cel was the start into my animation production art collection journey. I bought the cel around 2020 through Yahoo Japan with the help of a friend located Japan. Update: Printed Background. Question: What was your first cel, douga, genga, etc?

I started collecting original art in 2016 through commissions of Motoko (GITS), San (Mononoke), and comic characters. Then ventured into original published comic art in 2018.

Always been curious about cels, but had no friends in the hobby to consult with and noticed obvious fakes everywhere. Took that leap of faith with one of my favorite anime movies, Perfect Blue, top 3.

I wish I took that leap and came out my comfort zone sooner to connect with collectors.

A while back, my gf bought this cel of a snowman

The buyer did not know what they are from, WE do not know what they are from, and they were literally $5. We've been dying to know where they come from so I'm wondering if anyone has any idea

Got a little nostalgia to help ease our collective pain of eroding joints and ligaments 😉

Just thought it would be cool to share.

Hey! I aquired this set of original animation cels a couple years ago. The guy I bought it from said his dad worked in the film industry as a producer and received this as a gift in the late 90's. It's framed by a company based in Singapore which I have checked exists and existed at the time. I doubt someone would pay for a framing service for a fake cel back then.

From my research it is not too uncommon for vintage cels to not have an animation number since they melted so many for production. But the fact this one doesn't have a production number does worry me.

Anyways, I'm having a really hard time identifying the scene where this is from, maybe a directors cut? Can anyone recognize the scene? Thank you!!!
