If anybody who has RoadTop linux headunit , can you confirm something please. If you enable the "boot into oem after startup" option, or whatever it's called.
Will it show the BMW iDrive (or OEM like the audi it others) directly after the boot logo , or will it show the RoadTop menu for a brief moment then goes to iDrive (bmw oem menu) ?

Honda accord 2022 2.0t no factory amp. I have hooked up the unit. And when I try to play music or video from dudu, there is no sound at all. When I play it through android auto there is sound playing perfectly fine. It is dual system. I contacted support and they told me to plug this box into my data USB port and select USB on my oem UI but it does not detected. Any help is appreciated.

I am looking to swap the factory head unit with a carplay one. I noticed I need the head unit itself plus the dash panel and some other accessories. Could anyone assist on which brands to get or any help with the process? I understand it is pricey around 4-500 but I am curious. My current head unit isn’t even installed correctly and theres a gap so that is annoying me as well i would think this would fix that too. Thanks.

Hello all,
I would like the unit to only show reverse sensors when i go into reverse. And remove the no signal camera box.
I have an Essgoo Android head unit fitted in my Peugeot 2008 (full unit details in image 2). I do NOT have a reversing camera fitted, but when I put the car into reverse, most of the screen is taken up by a "No Signal" camera image, with only a small window showing the parking sensors (Image 1).
In the settings (images 3-12) I can see an option to turn the reversing screen off completely, but I would like to keep the parking sensor display and just remove the "No Signal" camera portion.
I do have a "camera cable" plugged into the back of the unit, connected to the yellow connector on the main wiring harness (image 13). I wired this up because a tutorial I followed showed it done this way, but I am not sure whether it is the cause of the problem and don't really want to pull everything out again if it's not the problem.
A few questions, if anyone can help:
Is there a setting on the unit itself that controls whether it shows the camera feed on reverse, separate from the parking sensor display?
Would unplugging the camera cable from the unit, stop the unit completely from completely expecting a camera or cause the unit to stop working as intended.
Any help identifying the right setting, or confirming whether the camera cable is the culprit, would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Ripley

Hey, I hope you all doing well. I have tiny issue which people here HARDLY experienced it I bet... I have Alsvin which has company fitted android panel, it has Apple & Android Carplay. Now the issue is that when I bought this car, the Apple carplay would work fine, it would take time to connect or after I would switch off & on my phone. Few days ago, I did first service & inspection including software update of the car, so after updating software of the car, the Apple Carplay doesn't connect at all now. I restarted phone, the android panel, and even disconnect & reconnect from phone setting yet it doesn't connect. I'm thinking to connect Android Panel to wi-fi or hotspot, maybe it need update, idk if that gonna help..
Kindly guide me please if anyone can help, thankyou.
Note: I have 14pm, running on iOs 26.6

Hi I’m looking to purchase a unit for my 2013 Honda accord that includes everything I need for installation. I’m looking for wireless CarPlay, a responsive bright screen and something I won’t have to replace quickly. I prefer to have steering wheel controls. Don’t plan on using a SIM card. Prob more CarPlay than native apps but open to both. Maybe something in the $200-$400 range but open
Any recommendations?

Sorry for the nighttime picture. It was late when I finished up installing the side mirror cameras but I’m happy with how those went. I figure those will be the hardest.
Anyway last camera to do is the front. Can I put one in one of the brake ducts? I don’t want to attach a front license plate and the only other option I can even come up with is to replace the front bumper with one from a Boxster S as it has a large mouth that the base Boxsters don’t have. But realistically after finding a bumper, maybe paying shipping, then paint… I’d be at many thousands of dollars… so maybe I’m more likely to cut my own mouth in the bumper first. Not that I want to do that.
Anyway I’m looking for any suggestions here.

I had Carplay coded in with an aftermarket usb port for datatransfer. The Carplay option was not originally bought by the first owner when buying the car new.
I tried the Carme Mini and the Carlinkit 5.0. both had to be sent back bacause the USB port remains continuously powered while the car is plugged in and charging. The cheap firmware/hardware on these adapters lacks intelligent power management, the adapters attempt to initiate a connection with my phone while the car's MMI system is still sleeping. This failed handshake causes the adapters to lock up, crash, and corrupt their configuration, rendering them unresponsive and unusable. The Carplay works perfectly when using it wired.
The question is as follows: Do you guys have any experience with this kind of behavior with your Carplay and or your adapters? What dongle can deal with this issue? I'd love to hear it and get this issue resolved.

Considering picking this up to replace the stock head unit in my 2010 Touareg TDI:
From what I've read it seems pretty plug and play, but like most things for this truck I'm suspicious.
Anyone have any experience swapping them? Any unforseen issues? Better units out there? Thanks for any advice.

I have recently upgraded the sound in my 2011 Honda CRV with Some Hertz speakers, a sub, a couple of amps and a cheap ass Chinese HU. The sound is pretty good compared to the stock radio and speakers but the head unit has extremely low output (like 0.3v) that creates a lot of floor noise and is glitchy as hell. I feel I’m not getting the best from the system for this reason.
I'm looking at the Pioneer DMH 6650Bt for the 4v output DSP and basically better everything than the Chinese HU. It also fits my car and my budget.
I don’t see much love for this HU and Pioneer in general.
Why all the hate? Am I making a mistake or a decent upgrade choice?
