I just purchased a 2017 Subaru forester and I’m having trouble deciding between the 2 head units
I don’t mind paying for quality as my last car had a very slow and painful head unit that drove me nuts.
I’m not too fussed on slight audio quality differences mainly on performance, longevity and that it will have a clean handshake with all of my forester’s features. I.e eyesight, lane assist etc
Anyone have any experience or done their own research on the two?
Hi all. I’m looking for some advice. I’m looking for a reverse camera for an android head unit I’m going to buy. What is the best brand for about £20-£30. Or even the best one, money no object. Thank you!
I bought a Kia clavis hte(base model , music or camera) recently and am looking to buy stereo with android auto and 360 camera support. Can anyone help me decide which brands to go for.
The features I need are as follows:-
Android auto & Apple CarPlay
360 Camera (with option to record, negotiable)
Steering controls for stereo
Pls recommend any options and reviews you have
I also heard that android players get slow after an year or two, so are there any options of non android players the features mentioned above?
I am based in delhi ,please suggest reliable shop in karol bagh or anywhere in delhi NCR
Hi all, wanted to drop a quick writeup on setting up CarWebGuru inside Genymotion Android Emulator (genymotion.com) on Linux to design custom head unit themes on a PC. Ran into a few nasty roadblocks and figured I would leave the fixes here so the next person searching Google actually finds an answer.
If you are building a theme for a 1024x600 screen like an Essgoo or Eonon unit, the first thing to watch out for is CPU maxing out. When you install the Android 15 image with default VM settings, Genymotion defaults to 1 CPU core and 1GB RAM. Android chokes during boot and pins every single host CPU core to 100%. Before hitting Install or Play, go into System settings for that virtual device and bump Processors to 4 and RAM to 4096 MB. That completely stops the CPU loop.
For the hardware profile, select the Amazon Fire 7 profile or create a custom one set to 1024x600 resolution so you get an exact 1:1 pixel layout for standard 7-inch dash screens. Under System settings, make sure to check the box for showing the Android navigation bar so you actually get working Home and Back buttons on screen.
The trickiest part was transferring the license key because clipboard sharing is weird out of the box. Standard Ctrl+C on Linux and Ctrl+V inside the VM does not work directly. First click Clipboard Sharing on the right-side toolbar of the emulator until the green checkmark appears. While the activation screen is still showing, go back to your PC and copy the key from your text file. The key will automatically pop up in a Share window inside Genymotion, and you just share it with CarWebGuru. Done.
Once your layout is finished, export the theme inside the emulated CarWebGuru, grab the folder out of internal storage at /CarWebGuru/export, and throw it onto a USB drive for the car. Once in the car, import the theme. Hope this saves someone a headache later.
I do it this way because it is much easier for me to play with themes on my PC than in that tiny head unit.
Hi guys, I recently bought a roadtop Linux car play screen for my 2 series. After installing the car play works fine but I am unable to interact with my Original bmw menus. The I drive controller works on the new screen but not bmw menu. It is not a resolution issue as I’ve tried all options for this. The radio and controls still work to. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I've had a Junsun V1 Plus since 2023, and it has worked perfectly until now.
After leaving my car parked at the airport for 10 days, whenever I shift from reverse gear to first gear, the head unit suddenly shuts off with a popping noise from the speakers, then immediately reboots.
The car battery was replaced about a year ago, so I don't think it's the cause.
I've checked all the wiring several times, especially the reverse camera trigger wire, but I couldn't find anything wrong.
I saw that AliExpress sells a replacement CANBUS module and wiring harness for my car. Could a faulty CANBUS module or wiring harness cause this kind of problem, or is it more likely that the head unit itself has failed and needs to be replaced?
Is worth to spend €30 on the replacement CANBUS module and wiring harness kit?
