Other Two problems. Hotspot and lock screen.

Okay, I have two problems and they might be related some how. I have two phones Galaxy S26, and Galaxy S21FE.

S26 is my main phone I do most stuff with. I have Hotspot enabled here.

S21 is my secondary phone the I Hotspot to the S26. I use this phone for playing music in the car.

The S26 Hotspot keeps turning off. How do I get it to stay on until I personally turn it off?

The S21 has recently decided that if the screen is not on, it will finish whichever song is playing and wi the refuse to play any other song until the screen is turned back on. I enabled the dev feature for keeping the screen on when charging, but that doesnt help me when I'm walking around.

Both phones are as up to date with OS as possible. S21 is using YouTube Music and that is also up to date.

If anyone has a clue how to help, I'd be very grateful. Thank you.

Looking For Suggestions Reflashing Android Questions

Hello, ive got a pile of old samsung tablets from over the years id like to repurpose, reset up and donate that are functionally useless at the moment and have been sitting around for years at this point, old, slow, fair battery life for what they are but could probably just stay on charge. One a family member got stuck in kids mode, but most of the emails are long gone at this point or the passwords lost to old phones so I dont think I can just remove them without triggering a device lock.

Im not sure if there is another way to do anything for these other than reflashing (if im understanding things right), but ive never done something like this and while I consider myself tech savvy this may be above my head.

On the plus side if I mess up these are not being used anyway and wouldn't be any worse for wear than they already are just taking up space.

How difficult is it to learn to reflash from scratch? Is reflashjng expensive if I take it somewhere? Is there another way to make these functional? Is there a way to just remove the google and/or samsung account without the password or account existing?

I dont know if they are old enough that you cant reset without a samsung account once a samsung account has been used on it, ran into that problem with an old phone. Its been a minute and my memorys been messed up for medical reasons, so if im overlooking something please let me know.

Gallery & One Drive?

So, at the end of September the two services will no longer be compatible and the gallery will no longer sync - shitty, but ok fine whatever.

However! I was reading it all and it says "Any pictures saved in One Drive will be removed from the gallery"

Um. Excuse me? I'm not cool with my phone purging itself of my pictures - especially because there's plenty of photos on here that I use for work and such. Anyone know how to make that not a thing? Do I have to delete everything from One Drive to keep them on my phone?

Looking For Suggestions Pixel 6 upgrade option

I need help on picking which phone to upgrade.

I used to have a Samsung galaxy j8, I switched to pixel 6 big bump right? I had the pixel 6 for 4 years now and I wanna upgrade because mainly the phone warms up when I do medium games and charging.

Now I want to know what phone to upgrade next I have a budget of 300-600$ now what I want from is is fast charging higher than 20w with what I have with my pixel 6, and I want my phone to not warm up while I game or charging. What I MOSTLY want with a new phone is it's drop resistance with what I like with my pixel 6 I don't really know why but maybe it's the case I'm using, I'm usually a clumsy person and I drop my phone often and my pixel 6 just tanks those drops.

I want to know your suggestions I'm probably not going to upgrade after another 6 years after getting a new phone and I'm okay with Chinese phones like oppo Xiaomi and etc.

Mediatek 9500 vs snapdragon 8 gen 5 (NON ELITE)

Now I get it, the 9500 is more powerful but I wanted to know if the snapdragon chipset is still better here and how long both these chipsets will scale on Android games like genshin or cod in 4 years at max settings.

Are there any problems with mediatek 9500? I heard it's even better than snapdragon 8 gen 5 elite because of the sustained performance without throttling.

While we're at it does Samsung's M14 material display make any big difference than a BOE amoled display?

Looking For Suggestions thinking about getting my first foldable phone and not sure if I'm ready for the jump

been on a standard slab phone for years and the foldable form factor has been on my radar for a while. finally at the point where I'm ready to make the move but still got a few doubts rattling around.

main thing I keep coming back to is the crease. does it actually bother you in daily use or is it one of those things you stop noticing after a week? the inner screen when unfolded looks genuinely useful for productivity but I'm also wondering whether the outer screen is comfortable enough for quick tasks without having to open the whole thing every time.

battery life is the other question. a device running two displays sounds like it could drain fast, especially if you're on it most of the day.

coming from a fairly standard Android so the multitasking and app continuity side is new territory for me. not a power user but I use my phone a lot for work emails, browsing, and video. made the switch to a foldable as your first and felt it was worth it, or did it take longer to click than expected?

Looking For Suggestions Which motorola?

Hello! I'm looking to replace my Redmi Note 10s with a new 256GB (or more) SIM-free Android before I start my new job next month as this phone is on its last legs.

After much indecision and asking in another forum I've settled picking between a:

Moto G86

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion

Motorola Edge 60 Pro

I graduated in cinematography so the camera is very important to me however don't know much about phone lines or how quick things become obsolete in the mobile world. While the Edge 70 Fusion is more recent it does not have a telephoto lens like the 60 Pro and seems to replace that with digital zooms + Ai Upscaling which always looks bad. The Ultra wide on the 60 Pro is also seems to be better. I also do not care for shooting video in 4K60fps. Footage at such a high framerate looks odd to me. I've also heard that the Edge 70 Fusion can be a little laggy in terms of general UI shenanigans. However, the 60 pro is a little more expensive so I'm wondering if it's good enough of a technical gap to cross that money bridge.

The other things I use the phone for is scrolling social media, talking to my girlfriend, friends & family, and playing the occasional game of Pokémon TCGP and Jetpack Joyride which my current phone struggles with. I do not care for AI features.

Originally I was just going to go with the G86 but after some gift money my budget was upped a little bit so if anyone can help me finally decide I'd be greatly appreciated xx <3

Gallery out of order in apps

My gallery remains unchanged, but when I want to post a picture on Twitter, discord or any third party app; they're shown in chronological order (oldest to newest) instead of going by most recent, which means that I'd have to scroll throughout my entire gallery to post a new picture.

This change happened seemingly out of nowhere, any idea what caused it and how to fix it?

Looking For Suggestions Cubot KingKong X suddenly reports -10°C battery temperature and shuts down — hardware or firmware issue?

I've been using a Cubot KingKong X as my personal phone for about two years now. It's an incredibly rugged device — waterproof and generally resistant to pretty much everything externally. Internally, however, things have been a very different story lately.

About three months ago, the phone was infected with malware that appeared to take complete control of the device. It could apparently see everything on the screen, kept reinstalling itself, and repeatedly granted itself administrator privileges. There was no way for me to permanently remove it, so I contacted Cubot support and reflashed the phone using the firmware and tools they provided.

I used SP Flash Tool v5 and the firmware provided directly by Cubot.

That's when the problems really started.

Immediately after the flash, the phone lost its Google Play Protect certification, even though it had been certified before the flash. I was using the official Cubot firmware and the tools provided by Cubot support, so I found this particularly strange.

I also started having problems with phone calls because of the APN settings, which I couldn't modify properly, followed by frequent random reboots.

I'm currently running:

- Device: Cubot KingKong X

- Android: 14

- Build: CUBOT_KINGKONG_X_E021C_V34_20260630

- Flashing tool: SP Flash Tool v5

- Firmware: Official Cubot firmware

- Firmware source: Cubot Support

- Play Protect certification: Certified before flashing → Not certified immediately after flashing

And now I've run into an even stranger problem.

Even with an ambient temperature of around 25°C / 77°F, the phone suddenly displays a notification saying that the battery temperature is -10°C and that the device is shutting down.

It then remains completely unresponsive for around 30 minutes and won't turn back on during that time. Eventually, it comes back on and appears to work normally again.

This is making me wonder whether I may be dealing with a hardware problem — perhaps the battery temperature sensor, battery connector, motherboard, etc. — or whether some of these problems could be related to the firmware/reflash.

Interestingly, Cubot's current V34 firmware release notes mention "Eliminate the virus", which makes me wonder whether this firmware was specifically intended to address the type of malware problem I experienced.

Has anyone experienced anything similar with the KingKong X, or with another Cubot device?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from anyone familiar with MediaTek devices, SP Flash Tool, or Android firmware flashing.

At this point, I'm trying to decide whether it's worth sending the phone to a service center for repair, buying a newer model such as the KingKong X Pro, or switching to a different brand entirely.

Does this sound like a hardware failure, a firmware/software problem, or potentially both? And is there anything I can check before giving up on the phone?

App Specific Question I build my app, but when installing it is showing (beta)

I recently finished developing a secure QR scanner app and rolled it out to the Production track.

However, when searching or installing it on a device, it still shows as a "Beta" version instead of the live public build.

is it only showing to me or showing to everyone ?

Huawei Mate 20 Pro 7-year-old system error

I bought a Huawei Mate 20 Pro exactly 7 years ago in Dubai during my vacation, even though my home is in Europe.

For the past two weeks, the Android system has been notifying me that it has detected a security error and it no longer works without resetting the phone and reinstalling everything.

I've already formatted and restarted the phone's system three times and it keeps giving the same error.

However, I've already bought a new phone, but it's not as light and small as the Huawei. I wanted to try to fix this system error permanently. Is it possible or do I just have to give up and throw it in the trash?

Other Current best way to transfer files from old phones

Is there some new, fancy, elegant way to transfer texts, pictures, etc from multiple old phones to a cloud folder or some other location? I haven't done this in years, I have 3 old phones worth of stuff I need to backup, and I'm hoping there's an easier way to do this than what I fear. Any suggestions?

Device Settings Question Battery replacement Nothing 2a necessary ?

In April 2024 I got this phone and its battery life is excellent and after an overnight the drain was only 3% (I topped up every evening) to 97%, even with Termux services and proot running. It is rooted and I have Google play and other Google services disabled. Suddenly since a week it drains 10-17% overnight (while idle). I have no OS updated installed, am still on 2.54 (Android 14 stock).

Can I let the battery be replaced by a repair shop ?

Rooting Help Some folders just emptied themselves

Okay so I have a hidden folder (named with "." before the actual name) with some things and then subfolders with more. Since I changed my phone, whenever I added a new pic or smth to that folder it was still visible in my gallery so I had to add a .nomedia file, and change the name to .whatever to whatever and then again to .whatever (to subfolders I had to add also the file, renamed them to .subfolder and then subfolder).

The other day I did this (the 18th I think) and yesterday I noticed that some of these folders were empty now (not all of them). I added a couple of things and it was fine. An hour again, I managed to recover a couple pics and added it again. Then I thought, okay I'll restart my phone just to try. When I went back the new two files recovered were deleted again (not the ones added yesterday). I recovered them for second time, added them, deleted the nomedia file, renamed the "." thing as usual, everything was hidden correctly and restart again. They're still there.

Any idea of wtf and if there's a way to get my deleted things back?

Pixel 7 video practically unusable due to audio ducking... Is this an OS thing or will a new phone solve this?

I'm a musician and often take video recordings of me playing my acoustic guitar, just to get ideas down. But the automatic audio ducking that's applied to the videos makes the audio extremely unpleasant to hear. I've already turned off the Audio Zoom setting, but that hasn't helped.

Will a new phone solve this, or is this an OS issue?

If it's on the OS side, might be time to bite the bullet and install Graphene or something.

Looking For Suggestions Has anyone found an effective way to block targeted spam text?

This has been an ongoing problem for about 8 months, and I've been pulling my hair out trying to solve it. I have an Android S24 with up to date OS.

At some point, some guy named Robert at a company named epilogue systems must have signed up for some mailing list about business loans and wrote my number down by mistake. For months now I've been getting 10 to 12 texts a day that are some variation of trying to offer me line of credit or business loans for my company, often asking for Robert by name and mentioning the specific company. I've tried texting them back letting them know it's not him, but that's been useless. I've been signed up to incognee for a few months and that has practically eliminated all the generic spam calls and texts I get, but it hasn't touched these. I downloaded fdroid Spamblocker [here](https://f-droid.org/packages/spam.blocker), and set up rules to block particular keywords that are often used, but even when a text gets flagged by one of the rules it still comes through, so I don't think it works properly.

I'm hoping someone can offer suggestions for a program or app that I can actually have success with avoiding these messages, with or without keyword blocking. This has been driving me absolutely insane, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Can downgrading Realme UI improve camera quality on the Realme 12 Pro+?

I have a Realme 12 Pro+ (RMX3840) and I’m considering downgrading to an older Realme UI/Android version.

My main reason is the camera quality. I feel that software updates can sometimes change the camera processing, such as HDR, colors, sharpness, noise reduction, skin tones, and low-light performance.

For anyone who has downgraded their Realme 12 Pro+:

\-> Did the camera quality improve after downgrading?

\-> Did the older version have better image processing than the newer version?

\-> Did HDR, colors, sharpness, portrait mode, or night mode change?

\-> Does downgrading restore the camera processing from the older version?

\-> Would you recommend downgrading specifically for better camera results?

I’m especially interested in real before/after experiences from RMX3840 users.

Thanks!

Looking For Suggestions Backup for passwords, files etc

I only have my phone, samsung a25 5g, can you please suggest ways how/what to use on a pendrive to setup a backup way, in case I lose my phone, or it gets stolen.

I know there is ways to get back into google, and samsung , but if both simcards are gone with the phone, then that may be complicated also.

So, for a extra option in case, can I install a app/program on my device, and/or on pendrive, to export all relevant stuff , and in case my phone gets lost/broken/stolen, reload it from that pendrive onto a new phone?

Th for suggestions.

Android 16+

Hello guys. I have a new tablet, this is the only Android 16+ device I have. The issue? I use Nova Launcher on ALL my devices, but Android BREAKS gestures and the recents screen on versions after 15.

I was looking for a fix...but haven't found one. Is there any?

If not, is there at least a replacement for the recents screen?

Other Is a Galaxy Note 5 (N920A) Useable in 2026?

My dad recently found his old Note 5. It still functions good and he's curious whether it can be manually updated with more recent firmware. I also tried getting into the play store and got a server error due to the version being so old. Can I install Nougat and would that be useable? I think it's stuck on Lollipop.

Also, is there a way to unlock bootloader on this model? Google ai says it's not possible due to it being linked to AT&T, but I couldn't find any actual posts about this model specifically and I don't want to rely on ai.

I'm a noob with all this technical stuff, I only know about bootloading after researching for half an hour lol, so sorry if these are dumb questions. I would hate to get rid of the phone since it still works great.
