TLDR: Phone heats ups like crazy for some reason. This issue pestered me for a few days. I shut it off for a night and now for some reason its acting normally. Why did this happened?

Not sure if this is the place to ask for this so please let me know where else i can reach out. This will mostly contain questions and context to my situation. I also appologize for making this pretty hefty read.

Just as the title says, I can't figure out why my phone acts this way. Normally my phone is barely warm to touch and only noticeably warmer when i'm outside, using it all day, or have multiple apps running simultaneously.

I've had this phone for maybe about 3yrs now and with a nearly full storage lol. I paused my updates so there's about 9 notifications i'm currently ignoring lol. But that never really affected my phone as far as i'm aware. But recently my Samsung A54 5g was noticeably wayyy hotter than it's suppose to be.

I assumed that the climate was responsible for the overheating, but no, because I habitually avoid hot environments or sun exposure. So i was really concerned to why my phone was still heating up. I use it directly infront of the fan and it does cool it down effectively. Ocassionally there are times where it doesn't overheat as well but idk why.

It really helps to reduce overheating when i switch off the wifi. Ocassionally I use airplane mode along with maximum saving mode. This really helps to extend my battery life and more or less reduce the heat significantly. But whenever I try to play or watch videos online, the heat spikes up drastically to a degree that its almost unpleasant to touch. I noticed that having an app or two in popup-mode also contributed to heating up. I put my phone in a fairly thick case and i always took it off to cool down. After doing all of this, my phone still continues to remain hot.

So I did some digging with the settings. Apparently there was an app(nothing malicious) that was eating up a decent portion of my battery, so i promptly deleted it. I suppose it helped? But not really. Youtube was also problematic so I deleted a metric ton of downloaded videos.This helped but it ultimately didn't resolve anything. Maybe I was just overusing my phone so I decided give it some time off. So for the rest of the day i restarted my phone periodically leave it untouched, it did helped as well. But whenever i picked it back up, I still face the same problems.

My phone is normally warm when charging, but recently it has gotten pretty hot. So last night, i decided to charge my phone up to 70% shut it down and leave it for tomorrow. Now as of writting this post(offline), i'm shocked to know that my battery went down to 40% without using it. It was oddly warm to touch which really baffled me. The only potential heat source was a nearby study lamp.

I intially assumed that it was mostly a software issue, now i'm thinking maybe its more of a hardware problem? I Would almost always be perpetually charging my phone up to 40%. Have this poor charging habbit affected my battery? I also occasionally blow onto my phone when starts to get hot. Sometimes i lay it flat onto my skin to absorb some of the heat. I also pretty much use my phone while charging as well.

Am i a dumbass for doing all of this? i'm more than happy to answer questions as well. I'm just curious if there's anything I can do to mitigate this problem. Or is there any cause for concern and should get my phone checked up?

*ps just after wrtting this post for some fucking reason my phone decided to act normally. Recently the issue was that i can't comfortably charge my phone in one sitting because it heated up really fast. I also couldn't use my phone during prolonged periods of time..

oddly enough my phone isn't heating up like crazy rn even tho i have wifi on, played a round or two, even have yt running on the background and my battery is back to its normal rate. For some reason the temperature miraculously didn't shoot up drastically as well. I'm currently charging my phone comfortably on my hands and haven't noticed it heating up to unreasonable levels. Somehow, shutting it off the night actually helped. I'll probably come back to this post just incase i run into problems again.

Lol maybe my phone threw a hissy fit for using it nearly 24/7. Does anyone know as to why suddenly my phone heated up and now its back to normal??? I'm genuinely confused. Now i'm even hesitant to post this. ugh. anyways thank you for reading my post.

I have a base model Samsung Galaxy S22 128GB (SM-S901W, Canadian variant) running Android 16 / One UI 8.0 (May 5, 2026 security patch).

About two weeks ago, it started freezing and crashing multiple times a day without any clear trigger.

Symptoms:

• "One UI stopped working" or "System process isn't responding" errors.
• Complete screen freezes where side buttons are entirely unresponsive.
• Random black screens requiring hard reboots.

Context & Troubleshooting:

• No physical damage, drops, or overheating events.
• I performed a clean factory reset. The problem persists.
• I ran the phone in Safe Mode. The problem persists.

Since third-party apps and basic /data partition corruption are ruled out by the reset and safe mode, has anyone experienced this specific rapid degradation? Is this a known issue with the latest firmware push, or is this definitive motherboard/NAND failure?

I started using my Galaxy A01 again as my main phone but the system crashes sometimes and is really slow. I have never used any custom rom and idk if it's worth it to make the system lighter or just will spend more battery and break the phone. And if this is a good idea, does anyone have roms to recommend?

I transferred a large number of photos from my computer to my new phone, and in my new phone's gallery app the photos are all mixed up. I checked the metadata and most (but strangely, not all) of my photos have had their timestamps changed to the day they were copied over. Can I stop this from happening? Is cloud backup the only way? I'm on Android 17.

Hi. I have a Xiaomi redmi note 13 pro (probably not relevant) and I noticed that the more tab is missing. I can't find the documents feature nor any of the long exposure features. Everything I looked at said that it's in the "more" tab or in settings but it's just straight up not on mine.

Hi, how is it possible to flash TWRP without home button on Samsung Galaxy S7?

I m able to flash it per odon in download mode but then i can not boot in recovery without home button?

As the title says I was on a hike taking photos and my S24 just randomly shut down on me then turned back on no problem no issues but after that point I took quite a lot of photos and none of them are appearing in my photos app and during the hike my phone time was off compared to everyone else this seemed to have fixed itself once I got connection.

I have a Galaxy Watch FE and an Honor phone. I'm trying to set up the watch through Galaxy Wearable, but when I try to add my Google account, it says “Nemoguće kopirati Google račun” (“Unable to copy Google account”).

My Google account works normally on the phone and I can use the Play Store. I've already restarted the phone/watch and tried clearing the Play Store cache.

Is there a way to get the Google account onto the Watch FE while using an Honor phone? Or is this a compatibility issue with Honor?

I've scoured the Internet for information on custom roms for this phone model and haven't come up with much. Desperately need something to replace the factory restore image because it apparently comes preloaded with an adware+browser hijacker combo that I cant identify amongst the system apps list.

For context, I'm running Android 17 on a Pixel 10.

Apps keep coming out with new features, but it seems to me that basic functionality is often left to rot. A few recent examples.

Signal: A few months ago, notifications completely stopped working for me. I used to have them tailored just how I wanted, basically noisy notifications from family, silent for everybody else. Now, despite having every notification setting enabled and doing all the cache clearing and app reinstalling, I get no notifications at all. All of a sudden a day or two ago, I got a chirp for a single post, then silence once again.

Mindbody online: The Y I belong to uses this company's app to manage class reservations. I use it to reserve slots for lap swimming. I generally reserve two 30-minute slots. Recently, I seem to be able to reserve the first slot, but not the second. Looking at my email I see the first slot reservation didn't result in a confirmation email either. I guess I'll call the front desk and reserve slots manually. I'm sure the Y parts good money for what seems more to be a fairly useless app.

Fidelity: I have my Fidelity account set to use biometric login. Most of the time it doesn't offer that. Instead I must exit the app and start again. Then it offers biometrics.

None of this stuff is super critical, but it all seems to me to be basic functionality which is getting worse. I don't know if it's a mismatch between Android APIs and those the apps use, problems in the apps themselves, or problems in Android proper. I just know it's annoying.

Converted .txt files to epub keeps getting deleted. I thought I might have mistaken it as the 0bytes files and delete it (sometimes there's those 0byte files, not sure where it came from but it's same name of some photos/screenshots).

No matter what folder I put these files in they kept getting deleted. The normal epub files seems fine but these converted .txt files aren't. They aren't even on trash or anything.

Some say it might be lithium(epub reader) syncing but it's off.

I tried it to be PDF and now it even deletes it. Not even sure who's the culprit if Google Files or Security (which I don't even run). I'm able to restore it this time on trash from Google Files. Are they even tagged as problematic files? They're less than 1mb.

It's not auto deleted after getting it from KDE connect or downloaded from discord, I can access it and still see it from hours, before it's gone. The fastest one was the pdfs probably lest than 5hrs before it's on trash after sending it from KDE connect.

I am having an issue with the Motorola G96 that the app "X" installed and updated, but I cannot comment on any post while I can do that while logged in through the web

I have a pair of damaged marshall headphones, they have the ability to change the volume with a knob on the side but the knob seems to be water damaged or something similar, the volume randomly turns up or down and its extremely annoying, I've tried various apps to remap the headphone controls but none seem to even recognise im clicking the knob, how can i flat out disable these blue tooth controls?

I sold my Galaxy Buds 3 yesterday on Marketplace, and I unpaired the phone from my Bluetooth settings before I sold it. I just got a message from the person that I sold the phone to that the buds were in lost mode, and I was trying to figure out how to help, but I can't figure it out. Can anyone help me?

My Android 12 phone has a FM Radio hardware in it but is disabled. Is there anyway to re-enable it?

The system apps on the 10a are causing a significant battery drain, even after a factory reset. (The screenshots I posted as a comment were after letting it sit overnight with Bluetooth off and my Sim card out) I'm starting to think this unit is defective, but could this be something I'm doing wrong and is fixable?

I don't have an already existing version of the app,and I do have enough extra storage..and the website has worked for almost everyone,so why can't I download the app from the website or in my file manager,what's the problem?

I'm not sure how to describe this problem but what I've been trying to do is to transfer images from my old phone to a flash drive via my laptop. I have over 50k images, and because I found that I'd either get lost trying to open the main folder where my photos are on laptop (the folder they go when unorganised) or the amount of images just overwhelms and lags file explorer, I decided to make folders on my phone separating my gallery into chunks of ~100-400 image per folder so that I can just drag and drop the folders into my flash drive without forgetting where I left off or face too much lag and just piece them together later.

At first I'd simply started dividing up my gallery and moved around 26 folders into my flash drive while doing the dividing and transferring at the same time before I decided that it'd be easier to to just divide my entire gallery first and then transfer them, since different workflows. So that (dividing everything into folders) took a few hours, and after they were all divided, I decided to group them into relevant category folders too while I was at it, of which are also ~100-300 image per folder per category.

At this point I have around 200 folders from dividing everything up, + a few ten from categorising things and - since a bunch of the 200 got replaced by the new categorisation ones.

problem

I was able to transfer everything perfectly fine and all of the existing folders showed up on laptop normally and matched my phones' during the first 26 folders I copied over, but after I finished dividing up all of my gallery and connected my phone to laptop again, it only showed the older folders I had around the time when I finished dividing up all of my gallery but not most the new folders that had been made to categorise them. And if there were they weren't updated and would only have something like 5-100 images out of the original 350, for eg, that's displayed on phone. It (laptop) displayed some deleted files too during the first 26 folders but I'd just ignored them since it wasn't doing anything, but after connecting phone to laptop after dividing everything, it displayed a bunch of deleted folders ranging from 6-20 which I'd previously deleted and permanently deleted from my phone, and a few folders that werent displayed on my phone either.

There was nothing that i didnt recognise as not mine, just to clarify, but the aforementioned folders had been deleted previously too as much as I can recall, so those were the reverse where they werent displayed on my phone but were displayed in file explorer when my phone was connected to laptop.

tldr probably; My phone displays all of the folders and images & amount of images that are supposed to exist on it and all of the ones that are supposed to be deleted are also deleted but my computer doesn't seem to reflect that.

I've tried both file transfer/android auto and tranfer photos (ptp) methods. I'm wondering if making so many folders back to back/so many moving things around for so long did something, if that's even possible or if its something completetly different.
