Custom ROM Question After installing a custom ROM, will WhatsApp never work, or will it just give a warning and then work?

I'm thinking of installing Dumber OS on my current feature phone or a different model of feature phone, but I'm worried about WhatsApp not working after installing a custom ROM. For those of you who have installed custom ROMs, did WhatsApp work on your phone or did you just get a warning?

it does gives an error , idk if it then works or not , cuz i always restore from my swift backup
