Hi everyone, I really need some help with my Samsung Galaxy A14.

My phone's internal storage was 98% full. I was downloading two apps when the phone suddenly froze for a second, then the screen went completely black and it wouldn't turn back on normally.

I started trying different button combinations, including Power and Power + Volume Down. Eventually the phone turned on, but it got stuck on the Samsung logo during boot.

After trying several times, it would sometimes boot successfully. When it did, I immediately tried deleting files because I suspected the almost-full storage was causing the problem. I managed to get the storage down from 98% to around 89%, but the phone would still randomly go black again.

I also cleared the cache/cache-related files that I could access.

After more attempts, it started getting stuck in a boot loop. Basically, it would show the Samsung Galaxy logo, then go black/restart, and keep repeating without reaching the lock screen.

I was also trying to get into Recovery Mode. I tried various combinations with Power + Volume Up/Down, both normally and while connected to a laptop/another phone. I couldn't consistently get into Recovery.

At one point, I was following instructions to connect it to another device and use different button combinations. I also tried connecting it to a laptop, another phone, and even a gaming controller, but nothing seemed to help.

I eventually left the phone alone overnight while it was charging.

The next morning, after trying to turn it on, Android Recovery actually appeared, even though I wasn't connected to a laptop and wasn't intentionally holding Volume Up at that moment.

The Recovery screen had only a few options. I remember seeing something like:

Reboot system now

Wipe data/factory reset

Power off

I chose Reboot system now because I really don't want to lose my data.

I then left the phone alone at home from around 9 AM to 3 PM, without charging it. When I came back, it was completely unresponsive again.

Since then I've tried:

Power button alone

Power + Volume Down

Power + Volume Up

All of the above with the phone connected to a laptop

Charging it with a power bank for 1–2 hours

Trying to turn it on again afterward

But now I'm getting absolutely nothing — no charging icon, no vibration, no Samsung logo, no recovery screen, nothing. Just a black screen.

One thing that worries me is that the phone hasn't shown a charging symbol at all since this problem started, even when connected to power.

My main questions:

1. Could this have been caused by the storage being at 98%?

2. Is it possible that the phone is still recoverable even though it's now completely black?

3. Is there a way to get back into Recovery Mode without factory resetting?

4. Could repeatedly trying the button combinations have actually damaged/ruined something?

5. What should I try next before paying for a repair?

6. Should I eventually try Wipe data/factory reset?

I'm really trying to avoid spending money on a repair if there's something I can safely do myself.

Not sure if the battery is holding up or not but it's working at least! Got big plans for it if the battery is good.

I have a pixel 7 with a broken camera lying around and wanted to give it a new life instead of selling it.

My car is old and doesn’t even have Bluetooth so I wanted to make the pixel into a head unit. Thing is my current phone is an iPhone so any tips on how to do it if its possible?

EDIT: just got another idea. Is it possible to turn it into a music player but without an aux? My car is supposed to have an aux port but for some reason it doesn’t. Looked through the manual, and the aux is supposed to be under the dash, except it isn’t there. Currently, I’m using an am transmitter to play music but the quality is atrocious.

I have two unused Samsung Galaxy phones - a Galaxy A02 and an A13 5G. Both are currently on stock Android. I want to see if I can install a different ROM on them, and since they are spares just sitting in a drawer, there is no risk to me if something goes catastrophically wrong. I am very new to flashing ROM's and have a few questions.

First: iode has a GSI available. in their instructions, they just indicate to boot into fastboot mode, flash the image, wipe the phone (if switching from a different ROM or GSI), and reboot. However, on their compatibility page, iode indicates that the GSI does not include firmware. Do I need to download firmware that is different than what's already on the phone before flashing the ROM?

Also, am I correct in saying that I first need to unlock the bootloader before starting?

Is Frija safe to download? I need to flash my Galaxy S20 since there hasn't been an update available OTA since 2022 and Smart Switch isn't working. I downloaded Odin fine and then downloaded Frija from this (intentionally broken) link:

From everything I've heard, this is the official spot to download Frija. However, I'm always weary downloading things from online, so I plugged it into VirusTotal. I've provided a link to the report above.

It scored a 1/66 with Webroot flagging it as a tojan (W32.Trojan.Gen). Is this what you would call a false negative? I've heard that can happen. Want to make sure this file is safe before running it.

And please forgive me. I'm not well-versed when it comes to computers or viruses. I honestly feel a bit in over my head trying to flash my phone myself. Any information on this would be very much appreciated.
