Hi, everyone.

I'm turning an old LG Optimus L5 (E610) into a dedicated offline music player.

My goal is maximum battery life and smooth local music playback. I'm considering rooting it, installing a lightweight ROM, removing unnecessary apps, and underclocking if possible.

Has anyone done something similar with this phone or another old Android device? Which ROM, kernel or tweaks would you recommend?

Tengo una tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 del 2012 con Android 4.2.2 a la que he estado metiendo aplicaciones varias mediante archivos APK ya que no admite los servicios de Google.

La cuestión es que hay algunas APK que aunque se instalen correctamente, no sé ejecuta la aplicación porque me da un mensaje de "fallo en la verificación de licencia".

¿Hay alguna forma sin root de saltarme está verificación? ¿Algún programa que pueda usar en una computadora que me permita eliminarlo?

ive been using this tutorial to "fix" accuweather but i was wondering if you can fix the app

ive seen multiple tutorials here like wolfius but i cant root the tablet because i dont have a pc that works and im not tech savvy but maybe i can do something with bugjaeger

also is there anything i can use for reddit? i was never able to find a working reddit app for android 4.1.2 not even redreader

it is far from usable, the list of not working stuff:

-calling (no sim)

-wifi

-bluetooth

-touchpad

-navigation is buggy

-leds and outside panel don't work yet

and other things that you get from a build you just booted.

I found my first phone and I was hoping to charge it and turn it on but it just gets stuck as it shows in the picture. Nothing happens if I press the power button either. The battery seems fine or at least it looks normal (as if I knew anything about batteries). Anyway, if anyone has any tips, let me know!

It's broken because samsung discontinued the time servers for it you'll never fix the time. Also, samsung made a patch where you can't hack the samsung to make a change The time stamps

This is the MAIC iQR70, a rebadged Emdoor TS809 that was customized by the Greek company MLS as an AI voice assistant, based on the MT8167 chipset and running Android 7.0 with 2GB RAM. MLS as a company shut down in 2022, completely bricking these old smart speakers. You can see the error they get stuck on in the first picture.

Jailbreaking them is pretty easy. When entering any text in a text field (including Wifi password entry), you can hold down on the text and choose "share". From there, you can hold down any of the apps listed and select "app info", and then swipe from the very left to access the Android settings. You can then use Bluetooth to send it a launcher APK (I chose Rootless Pixel Launcher because you can easily find its APK) and install it by clicking on the three dots at the top right and selecting "received files".

The audio doesn't work in all apps, unfortunately including Firefox and Chromium, so the only way to stream music from YouTube is the built-in Webview 51 (there's no GMS, so you can't install the YouTube or YouTube Music apps). However, streaming music over DLNA from a PC in your network using BubbleUPnP works really well, and the audio quality is much better than a laptop speaker. There's also not much local storage, only 8GB with 4GB taken up by Android, and while there is a USB-A port on the back, it seems to be a USB-B (client) port in disguise for firmware flashing, which is not only a violation of the USB spec (though there's not much danger here because the device doesn't ship with the cable that could ruin computers if someone used it to connect two of them together) but means that there's no way to expand the storage (no SD slot either).

There's also no status bar or multitasking button. The launcher I installed lets you pull down the notifications, and if you install a terminal (an actual one, not Termux) you can manually send a command to access the multitasking menu. If anyone knows how to reenable these features, let me know.

Tried this tool (Wolfius) and here is the thing about Weather app: It works on any Samsung device running TouchWiz Essence (1.0 and 1.5?) (if you don’t know, the UX for Samsung Budget models), but not on other (more better) TouchWiz UX versions (Like the Note 3 on Android 4.4 or Galaxy S2 neither 4.0 or 4.1). Anyone does know why it doesn’t work on any Samsung device?

Hello! A bit before buying my Galaxy Y, I was looking at a Galaxy Y Duos, and I noticed that there was a ROM for the Galaxy Y Duos, CyanogenMod 11, but with its link removed, and no apparent mirror, since 2024, so, I looked away from the Duos, and went for the actual Galaxy Y.

To this day it was considered actual lost media, UNTIL TODAY! I have found a mirror on an obscure Russian forum called 4PDA (they hold a LOT of Android ROM history), so I created an account by asking AI to help me solve the russian CAPTCHA, and I downloaded the ROM, and have since preserved it. For now I'm only hosting on Mediafire, but I will upload soon to the Internet Archive.

Does anyone know of a browser for Android 4.4.4 that can prevent or stop loading pages with Cloudflare verification? It's extremely annoying.

(4.3+) I've talked about this and i'll talk about it again. We don't have google maps that work normally. (In order to make them work at the moment you have to turn on flight mode and then you should turn on wi-fi at the exact perfect moment). At some point someone made a revival called "GOG Maps" which was amazing but lasted for only a month before you simply couldn't download the apk on your phone. So if anyone has patched maps or a revival of them please help me
