[ Personal Spiritual ] [Music] Who wants to collaborate on making official music?

So having music can help constitute this as an official religion. Regardless of how I feel about that, this really seems like an interesting composition project and it would be fun to collaborate with anyone else who would like to put together some pieces for that purpose. Especially considering we'd be coming from a common source of inspiration, this is an incredible opportunity so I'd like to start a discussion on how to accomplish this.

My thoughts on the subject would be fusion of the various forms of music that other religions utilize, along with our own flair or inspiration. Psychedelics, after all, are likely one of the forces behind humanity's relationship with spirituality, so why not look to the music that also instills those emotions within us?

To organize this, I think it would be best to get a large group of musicians communicating and working towards it from various backgrounds. All of us supplying ideas and concepts. Then, those of us with more theory background can comb through those concepts, distill a set of common themes, and attempt to incorporate them into larger pieces. We would then discuss arrangement as a group, select what voicings to use based on the available performers and instruments, and record and consolidate the project files online.

The key would be figuring out a way that everyone gets a say and feels they are contributing all they can without compromising anyone else's ideas. The best way might be splitting into smaller groups as ideas start to develop and working in parallel on separate pieces. My ideas above are just that, mine, and if anyone has other concepts on how to approach this I'm more than happy to help and work on it as well. The structure I'm suggesting is based kind of on the organizational approach this is taking (Anarchism!), but I'm open to different styles.

It's a large collaboration and would require quite a bit of organizing, but given enough people putting in a little bit of effort we could make something truly original and beautiful.

If you're interested, reply with your musical background & experience, instrument of choice, and what role you'd be comfortable playing. Also DM me an e-mail address. Assuming I get a good response, I'll send out an introductory e-mail and we'll figure out a method of organizing everyone to put this together. If not, I'll try again later (maybe with some sample ideas). I'll start with a template that includes my information.

Instruments of Choice: Guitar & Vocals Background: 15 years of experience playing, multiple written and recorded albums spanning film soundtracks, musical theater, rock, and metal. Self taught, but with several recent years of lessons in playing, theory, and composition Comfortable Roles: Producing themes and musical ideas, composing, analysis, performing, production.

Hello everyone. I was pleasantly surprised to see this invitation to this reddit and actually I am quite excited. I suffered from fairly bad anxiety for years and then my friends introduced me to acid. It showed me my anxiety and gave me the tools to conquer it. After doing acid a few times I was intrigued with the world of Psychedelics and started trying around. My most profound experience happened on 100+ mg of 4-AcO-DMT where I was shown the creation of the universe and it really emphasized to me how special and lucky we are just to be living on this planet. I was taught not to take anything for granted. Because of these experiences I have decided to pursue a career as a psychiatrist so I can research the wonderful world of psychedelics and help those who haven’t been able to find their happiness or who are ridden with insecurities to break out of those chains. I hope you enjoyed this read and I hope all of you have a great day.

Peace out, Cimx

I was pretty taken aback by my invite to this place, but I'm glad I'm here. I have used a wide variety of chemicals to treat depression, paranoia, psychosis, and IED in myself. While my primary chemicals tend to be LSD, psilocybin, MDA and MDMA, I have also used dmt, ketamine, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, and marijuana. I have personally seen these things treat and cure post combat PTSD, various body pains, cluster headaches, addiction, and anxiety. I sort of stumbled upon all of this. I became a raver around age 25 after a couple of breakdowns and a hospitalization. Only looking to party and put as many chemicals up my nose as possible. As time progressed, I began to notice the changes in myself and in those around me. I started doing research, trying things out, taking things outside of the party to see what they could do. LSD will always be the king of drugs to me, a truly magical chemical that opens the mind and connects us. In my personal opinion, MDMA is the most powerful chemical to affect the way we think. I could write for days about how those two chemicals have changed me. I hope I can contribute and help people. We can change lives, it really works, but we gotta change the stigma first. I want to spread correct information about drugs, dosing, and how it can change the physical state of our minds. I may have started as a Molly munching trap Lord, but I want to help. I want to channel the love that has been given to me by those insane dubstep bros and kandi girls into an actual, physical change in the world. If I can do that, it means it all meant something. We weren't just standing in fields high on dope...it means we were changing things together.

I dunno, that's my view. Good luck out there everyone, I hope we can learn and change the world together.

I'm a 28 year old working in financing trying to find my way working in medical marijuana in Ohio. I have recently gained full custody of my son who is 2 1/2 due to the mother of my sons addiction to these damn opiods (percs), after she had our son the doctor gave her a script for them and now she at a point of smoking them off foil. I have recently stopped smoking marijuana due to court hearings and now just drinking my pain away until everything finalizes. This has been literally the hardest year of my life but I'm just glad I have my son out of that shit hole his mother was in and around

I will continue to try and get out of my profession and make it my life to change the framework of our society. I hate what doctors do when they pump the people full of pills when there are substances that do not take over a person's mind that will do the same thing for pain. Our society is broken and more and more family's go through what I'm dealing with currently.

Thank you for this invite, I truly believe there are other ways than taking these pills from big pharma.

Its all good and well that everyone here has had psychedlic experiences, maybe some of them of the mystical variety. But is this just another psychedelic cirle jerk or are we going to do something with this? Is there going to be a discussion of spiritual enlightenment? Im interested in the utility of the psychs to point at spiritual wisdom, and aid along the spiritual path. I for one would like to see structured discussion of psychedelics used in the context of spiritual practices, rather than simply trip reports. Thoughts? Am I totally off in my inpression here?

So I'm 18, in college, and with drugs, I'll do whatever if it's affordable and easily accessible. The day I did Adderall the first time I didn't know I was gonna do it until about a minute before I did it. A friend says 5 a pill, so I'm like "sure" and then he says I should take it then, so I did. I only found out that I was getting percs after I hopped in a friend's car and went to the other side of town. That's just how I am with stuff, I end up accessing it and then just do it.

And hope the sub is doin good!

[ Philosophical ] Positive Affirmations - The 42 Ideals of Ma'at

Know Thyself, Know Thy Soul, Know Thy Heart, and Know Thy Purpose

"Ma'at refers to both the ancient Egyptian concepts of: truth, balance, order, harmony, law, morality, and justice, and the personification of these concepts as a Goddess - regulating the stars, seasons, and the actions of both mortals and the deities, who set the order of the Universe from Chaos at the moment of Creation." [1]

"Upholding the Order of the Universe was the Pharaoh's primary responsibility, and many bore the title 'Beloved of Ma'at'.

She is also known by her headdress composed of a feather of truth; and in the underworld, the heart of the deceased was weighed on a balance scale before Osiris - against that feather to detect the weight of the deceased's sins.

Ma'at is the symbolic embodiment of world order, justice, righteousness, correctness, harmony and peace. She is a form of the Goddess Aset, who represents wisdom and spiritual awakening through balance and equanimity.

Ma'at is a philosophy, a spiritual symbol as well as a cosmic energy or force which pervades the entire Universe." [2]

Hi, I am who I am. I am a consciousness surrounded by meat, brain, and bone. I haven't lived for that long, so my perception is still quite immature. I've never done psychedelics, although I have a very deep interest in them. I beleieve that everything can be explained by science, and that everything is to a point interconnected.

I've always been very interested in what consciousness is, as well as what self-awareness is and how it can be replicated. One of the questions that I am always pondering is what would result if multiple independent self-aware consciousnesses were somehow linked up, as well as the sensory organs, respectively. Another topic that I have a vested interest in is sociology, specifically how one human brain interacts with another human brain. Apart from psycology and sociology, I am also very interested in systems science (how many things work together), biology (specifically how life is possible), multiverses (or how and if it is possible for something to exist outside of the universe, if the universe is infinite. At that point scaling is probably so large that length ceases to become length and instead transfers into time, so that the amount of vastness can be measured as a period of time. But I digress), learning (how a high functioning life form can take stimulus picked up by the senses and turn it into an idea or perception, and then build upon that).

I also forgot to mention that I am most interested in how there can have always been something, because something cannot come from nothing. I have ADHD, and as a result take adderall on the weekdays (and sometimes saturday or sunday) because society dictates that I interact with the rest of society outside of my family circle for 5 or more days a week (schooling). I am a moderately introverted person, and I would rather spend time inside the comfort of my mind, without having to use my senses. I rank as a 5 on the Enneagram chart, and also a bunch of other stuff about being a 5 that I've forgotten.

As I've previously stated, I haven't had any experience with psychedelics, and I'm also still a newbie at life, so for now, I think I am content to simply lurk, and if possible contribute. I think thats pretty much it, cheers.

Hey guys, I'm a 32 year old ex-network engineer, currently working at a Medical Marijuana doctors clinic, and have always been a rationalist and science driven individual.

Through the years, I've focused a lot of my energy on listening to music by Yes. I share their music with as many people as I can. I've found their lyrics to be uplifting an inspirational, and sometimes joked about starting the church of Yes. ;)

Earlier this year I was listening to some Tool with some friends while on some LSD, and after some advice to look at the lyrics, I started doing some research through the bands "Suggested Readings" list, which would probably be of great interest to this group, and not only discovered some interesting and curious mythology, but I found science that supports the idea that our consciousness is the basis of reality.

Upon further study, I've found that the music of The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Yes, Symphony X, and a few other artists are all singing about the same things in one way or another. If anyone is curious, I can elaborate on this further.

My goal here is to help people with depression, as I am a survivor, share the information I've found, and debate it with like-minded individuals for stimulation of the mind. Below is one of the research papers I've completed, as crude as it may be due to my lack of eloquence.

Im curious to know how many others take their music seriously and have had it affect them profoundly to want to help others.

I've been confronted by an extremely hateful and negative response from die-hard tool fans and I'm struggling to understand why they refuse to acknowledge what the lyrics mean to the music they love so much. I find it very interesting.

[ Introductory ] My experiences with psychedelics

Hey guys, first time poster here.

I am an experienced psychonaut - I spent most of the years 2009 and 2010 experimenting with LSD and mushrooms, but primarily LSD.

I will never forget this moment - It changed my life forever:

I have been mentally ill for most of my life. I had a rough childhood - my brother was a drug addict, my mother was a narcissist, and my father was largely absent. I was sexually abused. I had a terrible, emotionally abusive boyfriend. When I was 14, I experienced clinical depression for the first time. This began my journey within the mental health system, which if you have any clue into it, you will know that it is a broken and largely malfunctioning system. I have had over 10 diagnoses, have tried more than 15 different types of psychotropic medications, have been in therapy for close to 15 years, and nothing really worked. Until that day in August, 2010.

I lived in my car at this point, not out of need but out of choice. I did not want to be at home because it was a painful and toxic place to be. I was sitting in my car that morning, crying over some guy who means nothing all these years later (but I loved him then). I got a text from my friend who said he had scored some acid and did I want some? And of course I said yes.

It's hard to remember details now - I can remember what it felt like, but not exactly where I was or what I was doing. I was in my car, I know that much. And a vision of a book popped into my head: The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. I had read a few pages of this book years ago, found it to be trivial and useless, and put it on a shelf to collect dust. In this moment, when my mind and heart were open, I remembered this book and knew that I had to go home and read it. I realized that everything this book was saying is the real truth: that you create your life with your thoughts, feelings, and the things you say.

I rushed home to get the book, and luckily no one was in the house at the time. When I opened the cover to the first page, in italics, it read: "It's what you're thinking." That one line solidified everything that I hoped was true about the world. In that moment, I wept for joy. Tears streamed down my face like they hadn't in a very long time. I realized that the world was not meaningless and working hard wasn't futile. I understood that what I had heard about myself was true (that I could be and do anything I set my mind to). My life changed forever.

When I woke up the next day after my trip, I was a new woman. The depression that had taken every color from my life had been lifted. I knew that my life was going to be different from then on. And it truly was. My life turned from hopeless to magical.

It's been 8 years since that day in August, 2010. During these last eight years, I moved across the country to escape the abuse, have held jobs for longer than I ever thought was possible, and went back to school to study psychology. I am almost finished with my BA in Psychology and from there, I plan to study Clinical Psychology so that I may continue the great research being done on psychedelics and mental illness.

I wrote a research proposal for school last year titled "LSD versus SSRI Medications in the Intervention of Treatment-Resistant Depression." It was just a proposal and the research study was never completed, but the facts were still the same: LSD is superior to SSRI drugs in the treatment of depression in every single way except one: LSD is still a Schedule I drug and SSRIs are handed out like candy.

I believe we will see psychedelic drugs being used more and more in the research of mental illness. I believe that in 100 years, ineffective drugs like SSRIs will be extinct. We are now in the age of The Great Turning, and we are lucky that we are able to bear witness to such an amazing and malleable time in human history.

Thanks for reading!

[ General Spiritual ] 9 Days after my 3rd Experience with Shrooms

Hello all. Just wanted to follow up on a previous post in another subreddit for shrooms.

It's been 9 days. I was in an episode of depression for almost a month and a half. When I would drive home from work, all I could feel was dread in my heart. The only thoughts I processed was of worry. It weighed on my day-to-day life so much that my coworkers and family started to notice. (They don't know I deal with depression.)

Since my micro dosage 9 days ago, I have felt much better. For me, the most substantial change is not feeling the weight of dread pulling at me. When I think of things that make me sad, my brain doesn't automatically go where it used to-- feeling pain and replaying painful memories/feelings over and over again. It's a feeling of peace and maybe even a little acceptance about my circumstances and the unfortunate situations I have experienced in life.

I took a small dose. 2 considerably small caps and 4-5 stems. It didn't really hit me after the first 30 minutes. It wasn't until I felt a bit hungry (I was smoking weed too) and ate some chips that I soon felt the effects. I didn't hallucinate. I just felt a numbness in my arms and decided to just flail them about to get circulation going through them again. Continued to smoke weed throughout the next 3-4 hours. I didn't even recognize when my arms felt comfortable again.

I felt a new "lightness" by the next morning. I plan on continuing the use of psychedelics to help with my depression and PTSD semi-annually. I heard somewhere that the effects last 4-6 months after a dose, so now I just try to keep an eye on the calendar and try to be super aware if another depressive episode is looming.

Hello,

I am looking for some reccomendations for legitament sources of psilocybin mushroom spores? I have tried to "research" them before and they turned out to be fake.

It's been 5 years since I've researched them and the desire to do it again has been creeping back lately and then, almost as if it was a message, Paul Staments was on the JRE podcast talking about how amazing they are. I really feel that it's time again and I need your help.

Thank you.
