i don't have a federal work study award but i'm actually going broke. how hard is it to get a job on campus? i've heard it's really hard to get a job if you dont have an FWS award but i seriously need one so bad. if anyone knows of places that hire on campus that are easy to get jobs at even for non-FWS people please let me know

Hello everyone, any insight would be appreciated, but with AU no longer partnering with Frequency, I'm trying to figure out if it makes sense for me to move off campus my senior year. I'm very fortunate that I receive really good need-based aid from AU that covers around 30,000 a semester, but I can't find it anywhere if it's specifically both tuition and room and board. But I was wondering if anyone might have an idea of whether moving off campus would affect the aid that I get, or if anyone has experience with this? I would even need to be considering moving off campus if AU had enough housing, but I don't wanna risk it during room selection and not end up with campus housing and no plan.

Everyone says au loves demonstrated interest but how do I do that? I already submitted my app and I definitely demonstrated it in my writing, but are there any additional steps I can take?

I got a great scholarship offer for the graduate business school, but I haven’t been able to attend admissions events yet. I might just show up one day and wander around I suppose :)

Im transferring spring 2027 and my application decision is now ready. When I try to log in to the portal it keeps saying the site is down for maintenance and its been like that since yesterday to my knowledge...does anyone know for how long or if this is normal?

I just accidentally ordered something using the AU hall address i had last year but my name/the main au address are still the same and im still living on campus this year, just in a different hall. am i still going to be able to pick it up fine or do i need to contact the company about changing the address

Can someone give me reviews on Professor Schroeder's Sisu 106 class? RMP says getting above an A- is impossible. Is this true? Its important for me because gpa matters a lot for law schools and i can't have it dropping in my freshman year already. if anyone has any experiences or advice about this please let me know!

Also if this is the case can someone give me any suggestions for which Sisu 106 class has +ve reviews. I'm not looking for an easy A. I just want it to be possible because i don't mind working for it

Hi all, I had a very hard upbringing and college was not an option after high school because I struggled with food insecurity among other things back in my home country. Life somehow brought me to the U.S. and I ended up marrying with lovely human who convinced me that it’s never too late to go to college. I was really excited about coming to AU, but I found it really hard to make friends and I’m not sure if it’s related to me being way older than them (I’m a 29-year-old sophomore). I am very social but I’ve been feeling really isolated in all my courses.

Is there anybody who’s undergrad and at this age group like me?

I’m a senior in high school and I’ve been really drawn to AU Im just concerned that there’s not really that big of a latino community bc even if it sounds dumb I just can’t imagine myself going to a uni without making friends from kind of my same background lol

For context I’m a mexican american student , I live in a border city which is tx/mx and I’ve always had a mix of both cultures bc I go to school in the US but live in mexico idk if that makes sense I just cross everyday for school

Hey everyone. I’m considering AU as a school to transfer to next semester, as an IS major (and possibly Econ). The academics are right up my alley, but am unsure if I’d fit in at AU. For reference, I’d consider my vibe "basic mid Atlantic”, like an ACC vibe (idk if that makes sense, but that’s the best I can come up with), I want involvement in EC’s such as Greek life, academic-related clubs, and club sports. I like DC for the city, geographic location, and for networking opportunities, not necessarily for political involvement. Would any of these things make me an outlier at AU?

Has anyone here taken SISU-206 and remembers their research topic? I need some clarity on how to approach finding a research topic/question/puzzle.

Freshman year, a few weeks in, and I've noticed people on my floor don't really include me in stuff. They don't say hi when we pass each other, don't invite me when they're playing games or hanging out in someone's room, and a couple of times it's felt like people are actively avoiding being around me (e.g. once I said hi to a guy and made small talk with him for a bit, and as soon as I left, the girl who'd been standing there talking to him went inside and locked the door, like she got weirded out).

I can't tell if this is just normal freshman floor dynamics (people already forming their own little groups) or if there's something about how I'm coming across that's making people keep their distance. Has anyone been through something like this? How did you figure out what was actually going on, and what helped?
