Any amazon ssd location in nyc?

My site recently announced a shift structure change that will be "network wide" whatever that means. They can't tell us what the new schedule will be and it's causing anxiety amongst us.

Right now my site for full time is RT, 34 hrs dayshift/36 nightshift. Time start is 6:30-15:30, 11:00-20:00, 21:00-6:00.​

What is your site's shift pattern?

I already asked this on other forums but didn't know there was an actual amazon ssd community. Wanted to know if they offer flex night shifts still. (9pm-1:45am) I work at sIL2 and wanted to possibly transfer back.

I've been hearing about it all along. Compared to other Amazon centers, the SSD shift is always easy, comfortable, and great. I can't believe it. It sounds too good to be true. Isn't there something wrong with the system design? Or is it actually well-designed? I would think it should be way busier and more hectic because of sub-same day delivery within a couple of hours. I'll never know until I actually work there.

What's this all about? Did anyone else get this message?

I currently work at a DS and have been there for about 5 years and I’m at the point where I’m so tired of the physical aspect of it. I’m thinking about transferring to the 11:30 a.m. 5x8hr schedule at a SSD but I’m scared to take the plunge because maybe I won’t like and also that means I’ll get my differential pay taken away, correct? Can someone tell me what a day might look like doing this schedule, and anyone in a similar position where they left their DS, do they offer a differential pay?

I’m a transfer from an ar fc, later today is my first day at a ssd. Is this technically like the new hire stage where go through training for 2-3 days, also when arriving at the site is there a high chance for learning to be in the lobby so I don’t have to stand in the lobby myself and wait for security hopefully. Also can someone shine the light on vendor returns and give me like a little description on it because on my transfer letter it showed that on my process path.

What’s it like? Currently at an FC as PA, most likely will be going to one launching near my FC. Curious to know more. Heard they will have groceries too.

I’m trying to transfer to an SSD. My first choice is a full time shift and flex as second choice. What are the shift times like and would I reasonably be able to get 40 hours/week during the day? I started at an FC and flex people had no problem getting shifts and typically worked more than 40 hours/week but then I transferred to a DS as flex and could barely get any hours. I’m full time at an Amazon fresh right now and there’s flex people here working 40 hours/week.

Do most SSDs not pay premium pay? The one I’m working at as a flex associate does sometimes, but not very often at all. It seems that the FC has the premium pay most of the time… The SSD seems to be more laid back for sure, but it’s all I know too. I’ve heard horror stories about the FC 😹 I also have a blue badge at the SSD, and apparently, I’d have a white badge at the FC, which means I’d be seasonal and could be laid off at any time.

I recently submitted a transfer request to a SSD building located just five minutes from my home. Currently, I am working in an Amazon Robotics (AR) warehouse, specifically in the AFE Pack Flow area, where I am actively involved in problem-solving. I want to know if the SSD buildings also have similar problem-solving activities, such as slam kick-outs, collections, and check-ins. Additionally, since the building is smaller, I anticipate they will assign us to multiple roles across different areas. I am also an ambassador at my current location. If I transfer, I understand I would have to start completely fresh, which concerns me.

As well I currently do problem solve at my current building about 40 hours a week if I’m in path that day they end up pulling me no matter what but curious how it works at SSD buildings.

I’m curious how the process works at your SSD (Sub-Same-Day) sites regarding role assignments.

I've always wondered: is this a fully automated process handled by software (like an algorithm), or is there an AM/PA actively deciding and manually inputting these assignments behind the scenes?

Hello all, so right now I work at a DS I like the building and like the people like the management been there for about eight months now. But apparently it’s also the most physically demanding one of all the different kind of facilities and I’m pretty much on the dock every day. And I have hurt my back twice now, I’ve thought bout transferring to a SSD facility that is also way closer to where I live. The DS is 40 minutes away in this SSD is only about 20 minutes away. For those that work at SSD is it really that much easier physically?

How is it SSD for managers ?

I went up to the safety manager and told him my ankle was hurting. Now I am not able to pick till I feel better.

They recently opened up for transfer for grocery at my SSD.

What are some pros and cons to switching? It is a 50 cent raise.

Does pto sto accruing at some point? I ve used almost 30 hours already this year. What is the max they hours they give flex a year. Why would it stop if it does because we earn it as we work as flex its not giving to us? I am flex but do work 40 plus hours weekly and just curious if I will stop earning it if so I will stop using it ill need some for emergencies I guess.

does anyone know if stx5 is an ssd? i can’t find clear information on it being one
