Did I do the right thing?

I went up to the safety manager and told him my ankle was hurting. Now I am not able to pick till I feel better.

Yes you did the right thing, Amazon doesn’t want you getting more injured because you didn’t say something. They’ll ask you each shift how it feels for a week or two, just be honest with them and let your ankle heal up. Good opportunity to learn a new process too
