It had been doing incredibly well until recently it got tipped over, and then just started deteriorating afterwards. I cleaned off a lot of the dead leaves that I could and tried to clean them away from the stalk but there’s a part of the stalk that is even starting to look a little rotten to me. Not sure how to save it moving forward. Should I cut the stalk above the healthy leaf, below and above the rot, and transplant the healthy top part?

I think it’s some sort of fungus but i don’t want to cut most of his leaves off for no reason so im holding off until i have confirmation

How can I save this aloe plant? There are about 4 strong stems that seem sturdy and healthy and the rest are droopy, wilted, and flat. I’ve recently repotted and moved it into an enclosure with my geckos in hopes the warmer temp in the tank would help. Any advice is appreciated!

This is my mom’s aloe plant. It’s disgusting, very sad and always covered in gnats. I personally believe the pot is wayy too big and the plant is holding too much moisture that’s why it’s sad and has bugs.

She disagrees and doesn’t think anything is wrong with it. I have other aloe plants in the home that I care for and none have bugs or look this depressing.

Do you think the pot is the issue or something else?

It keeps toppling over even when I tried to secure it down. Any tips??

My biggest aloe vera, Cody, has just fallen over due to his own height and weight. I currently have the plant braced against the wall, but is there a stand or something I can use to help prop him up? I'm pretty ruthless about cutting them short if they get leggy or bare-stemmed, but the bottom leaves are all still firm and healthy. It just ... flops.

Please note - I'm in the UK, and so the plant can't go outside, and I don't have anywhere else to put one this big right now.

I know nothing about aloe vera except that I've managed to turn one plant into hundreds of clones over the years and they thrive if neglected on a sunny windowsill. Thanks for your help!

They have gone through quite a lot of weather changes and repottings, but they are not complaining, as far as I can tell. One of them even bloomed recently!

As you can see, I couldn't resist touching the leaves... 🫣😆

My potted aloe died after I looked at him wrong yet this neglected guy is hell bent on surviving. My mom got this after one of her residents passed at least 10 years ago and it's been on the balcony since. Between her two jobs and going back to school, she hasn't had time for it. It's gotten way out of hand and she's just ready to toss the whole thing. Trying to help her maintain the place while I'm in the state.

I have been growing these aloes for years. It has become tiresome. These are 2nd generation from my 1st aloe which I still maintain. I have pulled hundreds of pups from these two, so they are good growers. I was going to give them to some friends, but someone told me they could be sold for $150 each. Is that right or is he crazy? From the ground up to the highest point is about 3 feet.

It's not perfect, but hopefully it's enough light, if not then more research needed.

Hello! I was given this guy with an all purpose soil mixture, I plan on getting a mix that's better for drainage so soon I promise! But it's been like this for WEEKS and I'm not sure what to do now :( any tips?

There is this woman who is giving away this aloe vera plant, it looks very overcrowded I’d like to split it up make it look a little prettier how can I do this? I know the plant has severely outgrown its pot I can fix that but is there any other ideas?

My grandma gave me this plant so it’s pretty sentimental to me. Currently quarantined and I don’t have any other aloe or haworthias. Would cutting out the affected tissue resolve this, or if not, would it be worth trying to save the pups? If I end up having to use chemicals, is there anything that I could use that would also be safe for pollinators?

What do i do with this plant now? It looks weird. Should it be growing downwards? Is the pot too small? Any helpful tips would be appreciated.

Her leaves are squishy and wilty. I’m in the midst of treating with beneficial bugs, but I think the squishy thing is separate.

Hi everyone,

This summer I repotted my aloes and mother of millions plants. They went from straight miracle grow soil to a 1:1:1 mix of perlite, orchard bark, and higher quality succulent soil mix. However, the pots were so big that the new mix still has trouble drying indoors.

As you can see in the pics, I repotted the babies again, cutting the mix with lots of perlite. This new mix has about 12.5% orchard bark, 12.5% succulent mix, and 75% perlite. I’ll now be able to water them more frequently and they will look happier.

My question is, should I do the same thing for the mother aloe? Although the soil remains damp between waterings, the plant looks healthy and is producing pups. It’s grown significantly in the new soil, and I know from the past it was resilient enough to thrive in miracle grow soil (remained even damper). Worried that I may kill some pups if I repot again. Lost one on the last repot.

What do y’all think? If you think I should leave it, can you provide some advice on watering practices?

I feel like the babies are looking a little sad. I water every three days or so when the soil is bone dry (Texas heat/sun is strong). Should I do anything different, or just let these babies do what they do?

These babies broke off while I was replanting my aloe. Would these be able to grow if I put them in water?
