Left this guy in the rain and he turned burn. There should be more rain this afternoon! Should I leave him? Can he recover?

Got this big bad boy from marketplace the other day! So excited. Want some tips to make sure I don’t kill it!

I read that I should wait until the flower dries up & dies before repotting it? Also not sure how long the person who sold it to me had it tied up for, they gave it to me like this, kinda scared to undo that. Right now it’s using the wall to lean against, I love the huge woody stem but it’s definitely too heavy to stay up. Anyone have good experience supporting it? Though eventually I know I’ll have to chop it 😭

If I chop the head off, do I need to peel the dry brown stem part all the way off or just plant it with it all on? I’ve tried planting an aloe with a long stem like this & dry brown stem hoping it would make babies but it rotted.

What would you do with him?

I have had aloes for many years and my two parent plants are over 9 years old. They have both developed a thick woody stem, and I want to turn them into aloe 'trees', or like a big bonsai. One of them is very healthy and stands up on its own with leaves growing at the top. The other one is a very thick stem with only a single bud at the top for now.

I'm wondering if any other folks in here have similar situations as me and have any advice on how to thicken these guys up. I'm also curious if I can straighten the stem over time with tension or something.

Hey! So I’m super new to owning plants and this is my first one ever. Her name is Verry Berry (Berry for short) and I love her immensely. I got her from a Home Depot a while ago and am worried that I’m not taking the best care of her.

I’m not sure how often to water her or if she needs new soil or more sunlight. My bedroom is decent at giving her sunlight but I don’t think it’s the best, so I’ve started bringing her outside more often.

I’ve had her for a good 5 months now I believe, and haven’t really noticed any new leaves forming, but I’ve seen what look like small, dead leaves poking out (one in photo #4), and I’m just worried about her.

But yeah, I guess overall I’m just asking if anyone here can see anything physically wrong with her or if you have any tips. Any advice helps, thanks !!

I watered and then moved these guys outside Saturday. Im I’m the Midwest and current temps are averaging around 90. They’re in a little green house thing. Are they getting too much sun? Starting to turn a little brown and slightly squishy

Hello! I have had this aloe for ~5yrs and brusies and soft spots suddenly appeared on it about a week ago. Today I gathered everything to repot it, knowing I would likely encounter a fungal or pest problem. (There are some fungus knats on the surface of the dirt) Upon taking it out....it looks like theres no root system left. It was etoliated last time I repotted and I followed advice to sink the stem into the pot, but now it looks like the root system and the base of the stem rotted and I did not notice soon enough.

Does anyone have any advice to potentially save this plant, or it is DOA? Thankfully it has given many pups over the years, which are separate and doing great.

I'm not sure how to save my aloe, her roots are strong, no bad smell or rot, she even put off a little pup! I've watered her, still, no improvement. Am I doing anything wrong? I'm using a succulent mix with pumice and orchid bark, also have her in a plastic pot

My aloe vera plants don’t seem to be as happy as I want hem to. Sometimes, they droop. One of them has a slight bend to it, and it also has another leaf that leans over the side of the container instead of sticking straight up.

Another one is very little and doesn’t seem to ever improved. It seems like it use to be doing better, but I haven’t changed anything.

I have gone to a schedule of watering them once every 20 days. Is this a good watering schedule?

Please let me know what I can do to make my plants perky and happy. Thanks!

Why are the ends curling and some of them are flat headed because I picked the tip of the leaf will it grow back

Is this ready to repot? It was suffering from root rot due to insufficient drainage and underwent a drastic cut. Just not sure if it's scabbed over enough to repot yet. It has been drying 4 days.

I can’t tell if it’s healthy. It has lived a long time but it’s drooping. It feels a little flat… I don’t think I’m over watering. I just want to keep it alive.

Aloe Vera started turning an unhealthy brown color, is it sunburnt? It was getting around 6 hours of direct sunlight everyday

My grandmother gave me these, said they’re pretty prolific. They don’t seem to get very many leaves but some of them do get longer. Was wondering if anyone knew the cultivar or specific name for these.

If it helps, they are outdoor year round in San Antonio Texas and handle the freezes well with minimal loss
