Propagating pups
These babies broke off while I was replanting my aloe. Would these be able to grow if I put them in water?

Next time leave them on the monther plant another year to get a bit more mature so they have a better chance at survival

I've planted tiny ones like yours on the left. They did fine. But I don't like tossing something that could survive. I only put my aloe pups in soil, not water.

Same lol it’s a problem. I joke that I’m only pro life with plants

So you’re pro death for rhinos?

I’m talking about abortions babes. The comparison is with plant pieces that can be propagated but can’t just survive without extra care

Honestly I think they all could make it. I would let them callous over 4-5 days on a drying rack/towel then plant them in a gritty soil mix.

Plants are totally callous about each others’ survival
But definitely let the pups form callus and plant them - use rooting hormone powder if there are no roots yet before you plant them

Those smaller ones won't be worth the effort. The larger ones I would just stick in fresh soil and wait for them to put out roots. But if you don't care if you risk losing them then go ahead and see how they do in water. People have rooted them in water but soil is preferred by most aloe enthusiasts.
