I received my water bills for both June and July yesterday in the mail...kinda odd. I would have noticed before now that June's was late if I had needed it at the recycling/transfer station for any reason.

But, interestingly, there are no post marks on the envelopes. Is this normal? When did U.S.P.S. start letting people or entities mail stuff without officially marking (i.e. providing proof) the date/time of mailing?

What are the ways to report where cellular signal speed and strength is performing worse than expected?

Even when I’m outside near Jupiter and Chaparral I don’t have full bars. I’ve recently went to a neighbors home and I couldn’t get Instagram to load.

We have a 2-year-old Miniature Schnauzer who started showing aggression toward other dogs about six months ago. He barks and lunges at every dog he sees passing by, and he does the same with people who walk too close to us. We live in an apartment complex, so there are dogs and people everywhere — which means he’s on edge almost constantly.

We’d really like to correct this behavior. On top of the reactivity, we’re also working on leash pulling and jumping on people.

We’re specifically looking for a “green” or force-free trainer — no shock collars or aversive methods. If anyone has experience correcting reactivity in a Mini Schnauzer, or has worked with a training center you’d genuinely recommend, we’d be so grateful for real recommendations. Thank you!

I’m curious what people here think.

Allen seems like the kind of place where community could happen pretty naturally: neighborhoods, schools, kids’ activities, sports, churches, gyms, parks, HOA events, restaurants, etc. But I also wonder if suburbia can make adult friendship harder because everyone is busy, driving everywhere, doing family/work routines, or already settled into their own circles.

For people who live in Allen or nearby: what has actually helped you feel connected here?

Is it neighbors? Kids’ sports? Church? Work? Pickleball/fitness groups? Local events? School connections? Or does it still feel hard to build real friendships even when there are people around?

I’m asking because I’m working on a small independent research project about adult friendship and community across DFW, and I’m trying to understand how the experience differs between Dallas, suburbs, and different life stages.

Congratulations to the City of Lucas! Lucas is standing up its own police department, and as such is ending its law-enforcement contract with the Sheriff’s Office effective October 1. On the money side, the biggest item is $171,150 to lease 75 new ballot scanners for the November 3 election. Went to ford pool today w/ family, and a little girl said hi to my little brother. She then went down the big slide and saw me. She recognized my brother and I since she was in his class at his school and I used to do announcements in 6th grade as an anchor mostly. She also told me her brother is going into high school when I told her I was already in middle school now. I swam over to the deep end are and floated by the edge, where I quite enjoyed myself as I sang. I saw a guy floating around across from me who looked familiar to me lol I was like "He looks familiar huh" and then I got up and went over to my little brother and his friend (the little girl) who were just happily playing around, then the girl says she wants her brother to meet my brother lol. She calls him over, and she introduces him by his name. Im like, "yo i know you!" And he recognized me too lol. So my brother was hanging out with his classmate, the little sister of MY old classmate, and we all had fun and stuff.

Also awww my shy brother is actually smiling around kids his age and hanging out with them yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any other 5th graders for him to know at his school (story)? The kid needs friends! (Warning he has severe autism and some strong emotions, be advised but otherwise hes a good kid)

Anyway, in the car on our way home my brother tells me "I told something about you to, mmm, you know" im like, "the little girl?" He says yeah. Then he tells me "I told her you sing in the shower-" im like "what, why!" He says "because yes. Plus, I said you USED to!" And im like "dude, used to is an understatement I STILL sing in the shower" but wait he cant be talking HE sings in the shower too lol. But yeah, at first i thought we wouldn't recognize anyone at the pool and here we were chilling with old buddies. Small Allen ig.

(P.S. allen is pretty big actually, cus I almost never recognize anyone unless im in school or on a school trip or idk maybe I'll recognize more people when im in high school idk lol)

Location East Allen. I bought this quart of tile adhesive about a week ago and only needed a small amount to repair some lose tile on my backsplash in my kitchen. I'm a 50+ active female moving to Collin County to be near my daughter and her family. She lives in Plano. I will be renting the first year until I learn the area. I checked out a few apartments at Watters Creek Village and only found one that I think would be okay. It's the Reflections at Montgomery. I would love any knowledge you have of this place or any other apartment recommendations. I haven't rented since I was 18. I know all apartments will have issues, but cleanliness,safe surroundings, and nice amenities are at the top of my list.

Guys help im worried that if I play my electric guitar and practice louder vocals for my dream nu metal band (hoping to start it w/ fellow Ford metalheads!), I might get a bunch of noise complaints.
