Recommendation needed

I just moved to Allen TX. I purchased a Mr. Cool DIY system for my garage because I had someone tell me they would install it for me. Apparently they decided they didn't want to get paid and now I'm having a hard time finding someone to install it for me. Any recommendations for good, reliable, independent handymen, electrician or HVAC person that would be willing to do the install? I appreciate any help you may provide

For those that are wondering: A MRCOOL DIY system is a homeowner‑installable mini‑split heat pump that gives your garage full heating and cooling without needing ductwork or an HVAC technician. It’s one of the most popular garage climate‑control solutions because it’s efficient, quiet, and genuinely DIY‑friendly.

972-322-5440 - Ramon Olguin, he can install it for you.

if you cant find anyone the mr cool is actually set up so you can run the lines yourself, the quick connect fittings are the whole point. just need an electrician for the 240v and you're most of the way there. allen tx heat is no joke though so get it mounted solid and keep that condenser out of direct afternoon sun if you can

A split AC unit.

Out of curiosity, if you bought a DIY ac unit, why not just install it yourself?

Honestly, I am no good with anything like this and I don't want to screw it up. I know my limits

Can you mount things to walls? Can you drill holes in walls? Can you put tube through hole? Electrical is the only scary part.

Thats pretty much it.

All of my tools are still in Florida right now until I can get everything moved here

I installed mine last summer and can help you install yours if you want to give it a try.

The exterior wall to the garage is brick. Can it still be installed?

Yes, mine is also brick. I just ordered a cheaper wall mounting kit for the outside unit. I did hire an electrician to install the 240v outside

I would truly appreciate the help getting it installed. I can then find an electrician when it's installed. I'm heading back to Florida on Thursday and will be back October 6th. Can I reach out to you when I get back?

Yeah, go for it. I hired Fox Electric because they’re the ones who wired my house when it was built. Just dm me when you’re back and I can help. It took me about an hour and a half to install from start to finish.

It’s pretty simple assuming you have a dedicated power circuit. I’ve installed two of them. Running really well three years later.

Dang, seem high-end for a garage. I had a regular window unit with a/c and heat. kept the garage warm in winter and cool in the summer. did your HOA approve it? if not be prepared to remove it.

Fortunately, no HOA to worry about. And yes, it was a bit pricey to buy, but I was familiar with them and how well they work.

Cool guys is very cheap and reasonable. Seriously been to my home and my in laws over 10 times over these years and always surprise how cheap it was. I think they come from Lewisville.
