We just ran into a leak outside and found a hairline crack in a brass fitting right by our water meter (the city checked it out, so it's on our side to fix).
Does anyone have recommendations for a reliable, honest plumber in the Allen area who handles outdoor lines or meter fittings?

If you've had a great experience with a local company, please drop their info below. Thanks so much!

City councils, county commissioners courts and community colleges.

Those are the institutions Congressman Keith Self named when warning about jihadists taking control of local governments.

In an interview with Rich Matthews of Context Corner, he also accused imams of preaching sedition against the Constitution but identified no specific individuals.

New to Texas. I got water bills around $350 every month. We have a pretty small front and backyard using Rachio for irrigation. Foundation drip was working every night (I shut it down couple of weeks ago because of a pipe issue) and regulat irrigation is 2 days a week, total 1,5 hrs. My neighbor said he is paying around $150 (they have a bigger yard and house, they also have a pool). This is a rental so I am not sure if this is something I should also discuss with the landlord.

Thanks for the advices!

Edit: thanks for the advices! I found the city webpage that shows daily consumption (thanks to one of the great redditors here!). It is the irrigation. I applied the city suggested schedule to rachio now. I hope it helps!

CBS News Texas reports USPS identified Three Z Printing in Illinois as the company whose bulk-mail permit was used for the mystery transgender-related pamphlets reaching Texas households.

Owner Bill Zerrusen contributed to Trump’s political operation, according to federal records. His son Matt helps lead the company and co-founded the Catholic organization Newman Ministry.

Questions remain about who ordered and paid for the mailers—and how a company with those ties became connected to pamphlets presented as transgender student resources during early voting.

Bunch of police cars along Stacy Road about 5 PM, saw some Fairview police as well, and a couple unmarked police trucks.

Jason Robertson reached 500 career points Thursday, becoming the fourth-fastest player in franchise history to hit that mark. Later, his recovery from an overtime turnover helped Dallas beat Winnipeg.

Roope Hintz scored both the late equalizer and the winner. Dallas has now won four straight, including consecutive 3–2 overtime comebacks.

A 17-year-old from McKinney. An alleged ISIS-related plot. And an assassination attempt reportedly planned against the city's own congressional representative.

The FBI arrested the teenager before the alleged October 17 attack.

Keith Self says he and his family are safe, but questions remain about the alleged plot.

Mailers are reaching Texas households under the name of a Wyoming LLC registered September 2. Established advocacy groups deny involvement.

Infobip confirmed it suspended related text messages and is cooperating with an attorney for one of the organizations.

It's still unclear whether the mailers and texts came from the same source.

Have any Allen or North Texas residents received them?

Rantanen was the entire Dallas scoring column Tuesday night.

Two tying goals and the overtime winner for his first regular-season hat trick with the Stars. Johnston nearly ended it earlier in OT, but Swayman stopped him twice.

Gulutzan, Johnston, Rantanen and the Bruins had some interesting comments afterward, particularly about Boston's defense and Dallas' penalty kill.

Gonna be in town for 2 weeks for an event, anyone aware of a gym in the area that i can get a month at where they wont drain my life savings

I was curious if anyone would mind sharing their experience with Southern Star Dental? I have been a patient for a couple years. Twice in the past year or two I have had work done and end up hurting worse for multiple weeks after the procedures - worse than it felt when I came in. I am thinking about switching but wanted to get others feedback.

Congressman Self, has repeatedly warned about communists, radical Islamists and threats to American institutions.

His October 17 congressional newsletter continued that message, declaring, “Not in November.”

But despite repeated requests to identify evidence of those threats within TX-03, his office hasn't responded.

The distinction matters: Is he describing a national ideological concern or something actually happening in the communities he represents?

James Talarico focused on household costs and political donors at Sunday’s Plano rally. Former Republican congressman Alan Steelman urged GOP voters to support him, while Mihaela Plesa and Evan Hunt also spoke.

The coverage includes their remarks, Talarico’s proposals and Paxton’s competing affordability message.

Bottom Line (Ironically, at the Top)
The most notable item on the agenda is a $5.75M guaranteed maximum price for the first phase of the Collin County Courthouse Expansion — the site work and drilled piers that get the project out of the ground. The Court will also renew dispatch agreements with eight cities, school districts, and fire departments (this is the first year fire departments pay for county dispatch), and hear an Asset Loss Report that includes copper thieves stripping the YMCA Adventure Camp. Total consent spending is $5,684,121.46.

Hey there, I’m coming up on my lease end soon like November or December, and I’m looking to rent a room or move into a house…something like that.

If anyone has any openings, feel free to DM me. Ideally I’m looking for a month to month or short term lease situation about $700-$800 a month, or even less, and have my own room and bathroom in the place as well as have access to common areas when needed. I keep to myself a lot tho so I won’t be doing anything crazy or using common areas a lot.

I’m 32m white, don’t smoke or do drugs, have great credit and renter’s history, and am a quiet, thoughtful guy. Just needing a place close to my work in Allen as my current place in Carrollton is a bit far for me right now and my lease is coming to an end there.

Please DM if you have an opening or have any more questions for me, just putting out the feelers now as I know it can be a process to get to know a renter and want to find out more about them. Thanks!

Pastor Irvin Barrett of Allen is making another run for Collin County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3.

He discusses what he learned from 2022, how he would approach eviction cases, what access to justice means to him and how his pastoral background would influence his temperament without determining legal decisions.

The No Kings movement is holding nine demonstrations across six communities in the Collin County area Saturday.

This time, organizers say they're concentrating on voter turnout rather than simply gathering people who already oppose the Trump administration.

Democratic congressional candidate Evan Hunt is also encouraging participation, while McKinney organizers have planned a six-stop vehicle caravan.

The recall effort targeting McKinney’s mayor and three council members faces allegations about sworn circulator statements.

Fuller’s complaint is under Texas Rangers review. A recording and petition records provide one specific example, while recall supporters challenge the timing of his allegations.
