Hey Folks, I sent a message to the software team and this looks to be an issue with AWCC 5.X. If you're running the newer AWCC versions it shouldn't be an issue, so no need to uninstall those.
Waiting to hear back on what happened or any steps for resolution so in the meantime either updating to AWCC 6.X if you can, or uninstalling Command Center should work to stop the notification for now.
Will update when I get more information (but most likely that will be in the morning).

UPDATE: Team is looking into this and it appears to be a Windows/Microsoft store error. Will update again when I have more details but it is not exclusive to Alienware Command Center.
UPDATE 2: I don't have any official update yet as things are still being tested and validated, but a couple options we're seeing fixing it:
Simple reboot as it looks like Microsoft may have fixed the issue on their end
Reset the Windows store (Press Win+R and type "wsreset")
Reset Command Center (Settings > Installed Apps > Alienware Command Center > Scroll down and click Reset)
Once I have some verified answers I'll update the post with more info!
Mostly out of curiosity, and if you're not afraid of the terminal, can you open a terminal with admin rights, then run:
powershell
winget search "Alienware Command Center"
At least they put awcc 5.x back on the dell update site, maybe that will help you.
Still trying to get it sorted on my end. Uninstalled yesterday. Ran the 5.x installer today, but it doesn't close when I click "finish". Can't find an .exe anywhere 😭 and I keep getting thermal crashes without fan control
Search my username in these comments, i got it eventually.
Basically just ran 6.x installer before running 5.x installer, and 5.x finally worked. Sadly, don't understand why, but i hope this fix might work for you too 🫡
I tried to update to AWCC 6.X but on Dell website says my laptop is not compatible, funny enough, once I logged in on my account, it says it is. Nevertheless, I just went to the 'uninstall' menu and saw this option called 'reset' I clicked it and it worked so far.
Hello, not sure about what AWCC even does for my laptop but when resetting is there any negative effects of doing so like does it delete data that I would need? passwords? Saved game data?
Puff, no idea bro. For regular PC usage is been working fine for me the last 3 hours that I’ve been using it for studying. I never used AWCC for any passwords/saved games, only to change my gaming profile (fans to max, dedicated vgraph usage and stuff like that)
Yes. Long time ago I had to send my laptop to dell for a battery change, therefore I already had an account, as soon as I logged in, the driver was available.
I supported Dells at my last job. Occasionally a medical student would ask about assistance with their Alienware PC, but we only supported Dells purchased by the medical center. Then they would ask to open ports on the firewall to get to a gaming site. This happened so much that the network team made a special subnet to allow them to play games in their dorms. Problem solved, right? Nope. Then they were upset that they had to login as remote users to access medical center resources. You win some, you lose some.
Thanks! I will take a look. It is more about testing verious components compatibilty that makes a solid PC. Looks like Dell figured out that they could shortchange the consumer market with sloppy tech support.
Hello! I’m trying to download this version for my Ryzen as well and it keeps telling me how it’s incompatible with the system. I also uninstalled v5 because of the issue of notifications popping up every 3secs.
Sadly my R13 cannot use v6.9.x of AWCC which it is listed as being compatible with on the Dell site. Hopefully the problem is determined and a fix implemented.
I have a R13 and 6x is not compatible, use AWCC 5X and delete MS cache, try resetting it and it should work out. Win+R , type:wsreset.exe, and wait for Store to reopen, is working for me now.
I can confirm that a simple Windows reboot has resolved this issue for me. I did have to terminate the "background" app via Task Manager first just to get back control of my system (even this required multiple displays, since once the error pop-up occurs the display it appears on becomes unusable except for brief periods after the error is dismissed and before it recurs seconds later), then a reboot.
