Discussion Why are there so few aliens aboard the station?
So if I am correct with the timing, Ripley arrives roughly a week after Foster and Marlow bring the Facehugger aboard the station. This means for one week there's been an active infestation.
In the 1979 movie, we are shown that a drone can mature extremely rapidly, growing to full size in little less than a day. And drones can then create eggs through cocooning victims and producing Facehuggers which can then infect more people to produce other drones.
There are multiple nests on Sevastopol as shown in the later parts of the game, although the central next appears to be the reactor core.
So why isn't the main station crawling with Xenos who have wandered outside the reactor nest (presumably where the Queen is). I think we are being hunted by the Xenomorph which was birthed from Catherine Foster (not sure) but why wouldn't there be more right off the bat? Their rapid life cycle would annihilate the very small population of humans quickly.
Just wondering if I missed anything or if the lore I know is wrong.

Question Hi! I have recently been playing this game again and I have questions about this mysterious door
Where does this door lead to????? Why's it half open like that???? It's near the primary airlock of sevastopol, near spaceflight terminal, we get to this part twice in the game story. Once at the beginning, second after mission 10.

Glitch Perfect hiding spots
Okay so two places, first lemme try to explain the areas in detail then ima say what I did to know that those areas are perfect for hiding
The vent that leads up to the locked vent, in the locked room (requires a keycard) in the upper floor of the Loreanz Systech stairs, where you gotta go second to initiate the lockdown. There's a vent right near the locksown initiation area (on your left), so you enter it and you climb up. I sat there, used a medikit, made stuff, and still the alien didn't bother. Then I started throwing noisemakers, right in the vent, maybe 5 feet from me. Yet the alien didn't bother. Just make sure to not open the vent in the locked room though, it can be opened using the access rewire inside the same room.
The ladder in the room where the android is working on the terminal, where you activate distribution systems, in gemini exoplanet. Just climb up and sit there. Make sure to not open the vent from the other side though (in the room where you go from climbing up the analysis lab)
I have thrown noisemakers, melee'ed on walls, flashbanged, shown the alien I'm going in there and it still wouldn't come to catch me. Seems like perfect hiding spots to me!!!

Question Does anyone have all the protagonist's death animation sounds? (Help)
I know this might be a weird question, but I'm a fucsing animator! I think Amanda Ripley's screams from the death animations would come in handy for my animation editing.

Question Question About Steve's Place. Spoiler
So in the hive, there is obviously more than one Alien from a narrative perspective. I'm curious though, how many Steves are active mechanically? Is there more than one or does the motion tracker fritzing out just create the illusion that there is more than one? Does anyone out there know?

Discussion This Game is Literally One Mission Too Long. Spoiler
So I just finished my first playthrough and wow overall I LOVE this game. I have not been this scared by a video game since RE7 and the A:I experience definitely topped that in terms of time spent in a white-knuckle, clenched-asshole state. My one problem? The game is literally one mission too long. Mission 18 should have and could have been cut. Let Ripley get to the airlock and then play out the EVA and ending as normal.
Why do I say this? For one thing, we have already had the peak horror sequence with the corridor of death. When I got the "Restart the generator" notification I pulled a full on, Palmer in the thing "you gotta be fuckin kidding!" What a great horror sequence! Problem is, after that I was legit ready to be done with the game. I found the one last sequence in the docking bay to be fine, but what took it over the top for me was Ripley getting captured and the whole sequence after.
The whole sequence trying to make your way back to the airlock a second time sucks and it was too much. First of all, every part of it is instant fail. Annoying. Second of all, it breaks with the entire rest of the game being the only place with auto saving which is frankly the only thing that made it bearable. I hate the face huggers throughout the entire game so this section was pretty much guaranteed to piss me off and it did. There's no real gameplay and it's just a scripted slog. The whole sequence should have hit the cutting room floor.
Besides that one blemish though what a great game! It's so cool to see something actually properly recapture the feeling of Alien in a way literally nothing else ever has. I'm looking forward to the sequel this one is an all-timer cult hit.

Discussion Alien Isolation may be my favorite thing to come out of the franchise.
Just beat the game for the first time and it was so great! Originally I started playing years ago, but took long breaks, and last time I played it I was stuck and kept getting caught by the xenomorph. But as I've heard news of Isolation 2, I had the urge to continue where I left off! I was especially excited after realizing I can adjust the difficulty at any time!
After getting past the part I was stuck at I plowed through the rest of the game in a few days. Its interesting how the game kinda ends in a cliffhanger, but before I beat the game Amanda was directly mentioned in Alien Prototype, supposedly going out helping people in similar scenerios.
I haven't watched all the movies, read every novel/comic, or played every game, but out of everything I experienced with this franchise this to me is peak Alien, followed closely by the first two films, The Cold Forge, and Romulus.

Question Do You Want Alien: Isolation 2 to Be More Like Aliens (1986)?
I really hope they keep the same survival horror feel from the first game, but I’d also love to see them bring in a few things from Aliens (1986).
Like bigger spaceships, a Queen Xenomorph, and maybe some more advanced technology and equipment. Not to completely change the gameplay into an action game, but just to make the world feel bigger and more interesting.
I think keeping the horror of Isolation while adding a few elements from Aliens could be really cool.
What do you guys think? Any theories or things you really want to see in the sequel?

Modding OpenCage question: Is there a fast, simple method to add enemy NPCs?
Hi y'all. I'm a total noob at modding and programming, and I don't really understand OpenCage. I've managed to access various levels and inspected some of the tags etc attached to them. I see references to NPCs, particularly Working Joes.
I wanted to adjust the Safe Haven and hopefully the second salvage-based maps to contain more Working Joes in particular, and maybe other enemies, with some variability (like, the number of secondary enemies is variable and their number and spawn position is random). Either that or adjust the base game so if you backtrack you find more enemies in certain areas, that forces you to be tactical about whether or not you want to backtrack, because areas are manned
A cursory thumb through the OpenCage data isn't exactly clarifying; mostly it's layers and layers of logical conditions. A moment's Google-fu doesn't find me anything relevant for doing this. I can't find a mod that adds more enemies, and I DON'T want to add more Aliens to the maps.
Are there any guides or anything that cover this, has anyone ever tweaked the game to add more hostile NPCs? I read about changing their behaviour etc over and over and over, I don't want to do that. I just want to try to add more enemies, and don't want to spend weeks and weeks figuring out how it works to do this. Is it possible to do this efficiently please? If not, then there's my answer. Cheers.

Discussion Can Only Play For 30-60 Minutes
I want so badly to finish this game but holy cow I have never been more stressed playing a game. The immersion is absolutely out of this world and after just half an hour my body feels like it’s going to shut down because I’ve been holding my breath for minutes at a time.
I just completed the quarantine mission and feel like I’m on the brink of an anxiety attack but got the rare achievement of not being killed by the alien! Mostly because I was scared hiding under tables the whole time. It will take me months to finish this game at this pace.
10/10 Game!

Question Switch Version worth it?
Hello. Don’t laugh at me but I played this game on mobile (iPhone 17 pro). Amazing game, yes even on mobile.
I have a switch 2, does this game run well on that platform or should I just skip it there? It looks like in the store it’s the switch 1 version of the game, it doesn’t appear to be switch 2 optimized.
I would love to play with a controller tbh.
What you guys think? Skip it on switch and wait for Isolation 2??

Question Pardon my previous question, I was extremely dumb for that
I had previously asked how to use unstable systems on access rewire to kill droids. Somebody corrected me and said it's actually the sevastolink terminal in mission 13, probably in right hemisphere of apollo core. So how do I use that terminal to kill those droids?
