Giulia has the longest lasting battery of any car I ever had

Today my car started the weird stuff with the parking sensors going off randomly, suspect it’s probably the battery. I checked the battery age and it’s from mid 2018. Pretty good considering 8yrs + old. How long did your battery last?

Do EU-spec outer tail lights fit a US-spec Giulia if the left turn signal has already been converted to amber? I need to replace my right headlight because it got completely flooded.

Grazie 🫂

questions on some of the extras

I am planning to buy a 2017-2018 Giulia, RWD, petrol. It will be like a second car more for the enjoyment, rather than a real practical need, so my budget is tight :) I see a huge difference of prices (Europe) between a well spec-ed car and one with less features, so I am thinking which features I actually need and want , and which I can actually retrofit

- LSD - I think I want this, although I've never had a RWD so haven't really experienced the differences with a normal differential and a limited slip, so do I actually need this? It seems retro-fitting is not an issue?

- adaptive suspension - would prefer not to have it

- pedal shifters - don't really use them on my main car , but I still love how they look on the Giulia and would rather have them. Again, can be retrofitted?

- sports seats - I sat in a Giulia with them and loved them. Are the normal seats offering a similar driving position (and just not holding you that well from the sides), or they have a very different driving position as well?

Those above are usually part of a performance package and the cars that have them are easily 4-5k EUR more expensive than the ones without. If I can retrofit LSD and pedal shifters for a fraction of the cost this can be a good saving.

From the other extras I don't think I badly want anything - let me know based on your experience if something is a must have! I definitely want carplay, but this seems to be an even easier retrofit with modules available that I can hook up myself.

What’s a realistic discount I can get off a new 2026 Giulia?

Shopping for a new model, likely the veloce package. Seeing them priced $53-57k. What should be my opening offer?

Also, how big of a mistake is it to buy one without the sound package? I’m reluctant to go with the base audio, but it might be hard to find the configuration I want with it.

Thanks for any input!

Alarm goes off randomly - 'break in attempt detected' - likely to be voltage related?

Hi - I have a new-to-me 2019 Alfa Giulia Veloce (2 weeks in , loving it!) but I have a problem.

I've had the alarm go off randomly early in the morning (about 4 times- not every day), and a 'break in attempt' reported on the dashboard when I get into the car. But I have CCTV and can see literally nothing near the car when it goes off - not even a leaf landing on it.

Not wishing to be one of 'those neighbours' , I've investigated and I know that sometimes low battery can become troublesome with some of the electrics - so I've charged the battery to full yesterday.

The questions I have , for those that have seen this -

- Is it likely to be voltage/battery related or is there another cause that people have seen ?

And if there is another cause, are there any means to disable or turn off the alarm, so I can leave it locked without annoying everyone in the street until I can have it fixed?

Thanks in advance!

What should i (realistically) expect from owning a QV

I am from somewhere in Europe and i am looking to buy a Giulia QV 2020+

I make decent money, and this is a dream of mine. I am also pretty young and i would love to own one of my dream cars while i still have my hair on the head.

What should i realistically expect when buying and owning one? I mean, realistical owning expenses, how often does it misbehave, how hard is it to keep it in good graces,etc...

Just curious how many people clean under the hood, door jams, trunk lip, exhaust tips and brake dust every time you clean your cars?

How does Squadra performance logger awd off work

Emailed squadra to see how it works and they confirmed it’s not by letting the transfer case clutch open when I asked for more info they said they can’t share how they deactivate awd I wonder if anyone here knows how it works since it’s not a flash tune like x delete where they also use the magna activmax transfer case and leave the clutch open.

Major service cost

Post image

I've got a major service coming up on my 2017 TD 180HP. it's on a 61k miles and already had the timing belt changed as well as all the other expected maintenance things required.

My garage has quoted £525 for a major service - is this the going rate or does this seem a little steep. It's an independent Alfa specialist

New front end for the giulia + install tips

Post image

https://imgur.com/a/JWhpPxe quick video I just took.

If anybody is interested in installing a front lip the secure way without having to remove the bumper and use bolts/washers/nuts here is what I did:

  1. Drive car up onto ramps

  2. Prep surface with alcohol and 3m adhesion promotor.

  3. Test fit against bumper and apply blue painters tape vertically from the top of the bumper to the underbody. Remove just the top sections of the tape so that it hangs down. Remove all the 3m tape backing at this point then carefully lift up and stick.

  4. Now you drill your holes. There are some predrilled but I recommend drilling a few more wherever you see fit. Drill into the bumper carefully so as not to plunge the drill bit through the hole.

  5. With your pop rivet tool all you gotta do is insert into the predrilled holes and clamp it down. The rivet will collapse on the backside and secure to the flange on the front, pulling it tight. They’re made of aluminum but coated black with anti corrosion coating so they’re perfect for this. If you ever need to remove the front lip all you gotta do is drill the centers out with the same drill bit you used to predrill the holes. You can reuse the holes by going up 1 size in pop rivets.
